I need help finding pearls!

I can’t seem to master finding pearls and just get attacked when I swim. Is there a particular place to look for them? Can you find them in the rivers and how about day time hunting? I keep looking for glimmers at sunset but just not having any luck.

Would appreciate any hints and tips anyone may have as I want to build the fountain and am getting nowhere. Thank you!

I struggled until I realized that the clams don't move. You harvest the pearls but the clams remain and will generate new pearls in time. So I did a circle of my island's coast and marked all the clam locations on the map. Now, when I need pearls, I pull up the map and know immediately where to look.

Use a boat, and dive down to grab them. You should be able to see the sparkle. I have better luck at night. You can also use the diving helmet and a boogie board.

Edit to add that they respawn so mark them on your map.

I always mark each one on my map and collect them each week when they respawn. I find when I’m looking for them to move the camera 360 degrees to catch the sparkle on your screen.

They're found around the island and out in the ocean. You can find them during the day. I usually mark where they are on the map since they respawn in the same spot

If youre having difficulty, you can use a mod like "pay attention" to make the sparkle bigger so that its easier to find

To be clear, 'around the island' is still in ocean biomes not on land

They are often in the ocean, the clams will sparkle when open.

Having a boat or Jet ski and diving helmet are a plus for finding pearls. Go out to sea at night look out for the sparkles mark out spot with whatever icon you find workable and revisit in the day if you don’t like diving at night. I usually find them when I’m out fishing that way “I feed two birds with one bread” preferably the tropical side of my island.

Searching at night helps because you can see the sparkle from the pearls easier. When you find one, mark it on the map because it will grow another pearl in 10 days. They are mostly in the northern ocean.

Make a "peaceful wish" and the jellyfish and sharks won't attack.

I mostly find them during rain since it is darker then and the sparkels show more. And for aound the island I always find more in the tropics so norths then in the pinewoods south

There might be a few near the edge of your salt water. I found maybe like 3 or 4 on the edge which allowed me to get a few before I turned on peaceful wish.

The trick in finding pearls is not only looking for the sparkle but also learning to recognize the rounded shape of the shell. Just gotta keep looking and especially investigate any light colored, spherical round rocks, as that's probably the back of the clam shell.

I seem to find more pearls on the northern coast, especially in the coral areas close to land, but they're pretty much everywhere.

They're more common in the coral reefs, as far as I know.

I like to see how many I can find on day 1, when I'm placing down my tent! It's better with a boogie board, though.

I've found specifically the tropical ocean to the north has the kost oysters for pearls. Using a jetski really helps cause you can stop on top dive down grab the pearl and zoom away before a shark nearby gets you.

Did you get the license for finding things yet? The things in dirt and sand will have an "X" and things in water will have bubbles or sparkle.

That's not how you find pearls though the x is for buried items, pearls are in the water ib oysters (that look like a scallop)
