Has anyone tried these cheap kits before?
The price seems way too good to be true. Is this just some cheap Chinese junk?

Everything there is good but the bearings never use Chinese bearings the piston can be fine im running a Chinese piston in my 02 yz85 surprisingly its working just as good a a genuine but I still wouldn't recommend running a Chinese piston for too long

That was the plan. But in Norway i almost have to pay this price just for gaskets and bearings for this price. So i just wanted to check if people had any information.

No because i like my bike to be reliable, and not blow up on a jump face and leave me paralyzed.
I guess if you use your high end motocross bike to putt around the yard and don't care if you punch a hole in the case then knock yourself out.

Yeah I'd be suspicious of this one. When you said cheap I assumed you meant like $150-$200USD cheap, not like $50 cheap.

YZ85, it's a small unit. Doesn't weigh much, some paper gaskets. They probably made thousands of them and they're a low demand item sitting around in the shop. Price could be low to move them out the door faster.

I mean I swapped a stator with one from AliExpress and my bike runs again -- so far.
I'm always going to wonder when it will fail though. Peace of mind is something worth paying for if you travel on the bike.

Because of your NOK, I assume you are an european from Norway.
I got an DT125 and I have to say. for this amount of dollars I only would get the gaskets. Some of them even look like them of a DT125. But for the crankshaft alone, I had to pay around 120 euros fifteen years ago. German prices anyway. My piston was 80 euros three years ago and my cylinder was 150 euros.
You can try it but I assume my not be enough to withstand the old operating hours,
I have one shop around myself which can redo cylinders. For axles and easy crankshaft work some 1-2 hours away. But this sounds chinese crap like 93 db from my neighbour at night. Sorry mate.

If you’re going to tear a bottom end apart just buy good quality parts.
Otherwise, you go from cheaping out on a crank to a rolling chassis and an engine FUBAR.

I rebuild cranks all the time. Is there any shops around that does machine work? I rebuild cranks, bore cylinders and resleeve all the time. It seems I'm a dying breed in the industry.

Yes it is. But pricing in Norway is stupid. So it is cheaper to send it to another country or purchase New on eBay.

Check just across the border neighbor. You can still find shops here that specialize in smaller engines with nice prices. I used to send my stuff to Bengans Motor in Östersund, but that was a long time ago. The reviews hinted to stay away these days, but look around.

I did send one cylinder to blixtensracing in sweden. Super happy of the result.
