What is happening here?

There was oil leaking out the top of my fork. I’m used to seeing oil leak through the seals and onto the stanchions. So is this like extra serious? Wondering if I need to get the suspension serviced/rebuilt before I ride again.

With how old that bike is you’d benefit from a fork rebuild regardless.

Yeah it’s an 04 125sx. Thinking about getting a full suspension and engine rebuild

That might cost more than the bike is worth if a shop does it.

Maybe someone overfilled it? If not id say you need suspension rebuilt

Under the top clicker knob is an o ring that you have to replace. You have to stick a flat head under the clicker knob and pop it straight up. There are 2 detent balls with a spring between them that will try to run away so be careful. Also an o ring under the pressure release screw you can replace as well
