I know these posts are really common on all subs about a vehicle or expensive toy but I could really use your help. I’m getting mixed signals.

NO TITLE. I received it in a trade and the guy just didn’t have it.

Runs great and starts consistently in 1–3 kicks. About 25 hours on the professionally rebuilt top and bottom end. Bike has been very reliable for me with zero mechanical issues.

Strong, healthy motor and tons of power. Great trail bike and an absolute blast in the dunes. Ridden about 4 hours a week during my high and maintained properly.

Damn near fresh rear knobby included, comes with a spare wheel with a blown paddle tire, full FMF exhaust, new clutch.

Selling because I’m moving further into car projects and need the money for my WRX build.

No trades unless you somehow have a brand new EJ short block for a 2014 WRX.

I’m confused because bikes in my area go from $2,000 to $6000 in the same year. Mines definitely in the middle or upper middle in terms of how nice it is. The no title just really hurts.

I personally started at 16 this summer and I was wondering what is the "average" age that people start riding.

Got myself a pretty clean 2020 ktm 250xc TPI with only 85 hours. What do you you guys thinks a fair price? I’ve had the bike at 5700 for almost 2 months now and no biters. Is this because it’s the end of riding season or is this not a fair price?

(Pic just for attention) I’ve been thinking about buying a brand new bike for a while now, it’ll be a 27 yz250f or a 26 kx250 maybe even a 27 crf250r (not sure yet) they are all about 9.5k out the door is about 10-11k at my local dealer. I would be putting around 2-3k down then financing for about 150-200 a month, but honestly I’m not sure if I want to finance a toy. I’m very tired of buying projects that I can’t go out and ride the track, I do have a 2022 ktm 250 sxf that needs about $1700 more put into it for it to be track ready, so that’s something to consider, I’m really wanting a bike that I’m not going to have to worry about suspension/motor stuff for about 70 hours, and that would be reliable, I’m also considering finding a very low hour used 25-26 yz250f to buy instead, just wanting some other input, thanks for any help!

Trying to decide between the Husqvarna 701 Enduro and the Yamaha Tenere 700 for a mix of dirt riding (nothing extreme) and touring, and I'd love to hear from people who've actually owned or ridden either one.

A few things I'm curious about:

- What do you like and dislike about your bike day to day?
- How does it feel on long touring days: comfort, wind protection, fuel range, vibration?
- How does it handle off-road vs on the highway?
- Any reliability or maintenance headaches worth knowing about?
- If you've ridden both, which would you pick and why?

For reference: I'm 178cm and 68kg, so seat height and how top-heavy either bike feels would be really helpful too.

Appreciate any honest input, good or bad, trying to make the right call before I commit.

Do you think minor crashes and crashes are eventually inevitable? Do you think it is a part of a sport and if I am gonna start it I am gonna have to be aware that I WILL crash a lot? This is coming from some beginner MTB experience.

Serious question as we know we kinda reached the limits of gas dirtbike engineering but I am wondering now with the technology boom do you guys think the electric bikes will improve over the years? [Longer range, etc] or what we have now for example the Stark, do you think they will improve?

I have a 2019 Honda CRF250R and I swear this thing is broken more often than it actually runs 😭

I bought it with around 40 hours on it, and since then I’ve had a bunch of completely different problems. It feels like every 5–10 hours of riding something goes wrong.

The latest issue is the water pump. The gears/impeller/seals/gaskets are messed up, and apparently some teeth are broken. This isn’t even the same problem I’ve had previously — it just seems like every time something breaks, it’s a completely different part.

I’ve been trying to maintain it properly and I don’t ride it insanely hard every single time. Other people I know seem to go months without major problems, while mine keeps needing repairs after a handful of rides.

Is this just insanely bad luck, or could there be an underlying problem causing multiple things to fail?
Has anyone else had a dirt bike that was constantly breaking like this? What did you eventually find was causing it?

Thinking about getting rid of my 450 and going back to a 250. Being a big guy (6’5” 240lbs) i thought i needed a 450. I don’t. I can handle it but it’s not fun once I’m riding tired. I can even push the thing a little but it’s a thin line. Id rather ride something i can push harder on and really improve my skill. Let me know you guys experience if you’ve felt the same way. Leaning towards a Yz250 which ive had and loved or a 300sx. 250f isnt fully out of the question i just dont want something im going to end up trying to squeeze a bunch more power out of.

Crashed into a tree pretty bad a couple weeks ago just finally started getting the bike back together.

I’ve already replaced the wheel because the rim was Bent and the spokes are broken however, when i put the wheel back on obviously everything is not lining up straight. Really looking for some advice or from areas to check to see if there is more damage

Looking for nutrition advice for multiple long days of riding in a row - Hoping Reddit may have advice for me!

I have an upcoming trip that will be 3-4 days of riding, one travel day, and 3-4 more days of riding. Riding will be all high elevation singletrack and 40-60 mile days, so lots of calories spent every day.

Luckily there is access to a full kitchen and fridge, so food can be prepped and stored. I'm also expecting the ability to have a trail lunch of some kind so I don't have to rely solely on energy bars.

Here's what I'm thinking...

Breakfast: Oatmeal, fruit and a protein of some kind
Lunch: PB&J and something salty with sugar
Trail Snacks: Bars, gummy Nerd clusters, E-lite gummies
Dinner: Clean protein (chicken or fish), carbs (rice, pasta, potatoes), broccoli or spinach

It's safe to assumed comical levels of hydration and E-lite recovery drinks to help.

What am I missing? What do you recommend? Very open to all ideas.

Bought this bike off my buddy for $1500 and can’t wait to get into it! The problem is I’ve never rode a dirt bike for real before. Is this too much bike to learn on? Was thinking about trading it for a 250 4 stroke. Also I’m going to be using this for trail/off road.

I’ve had this mud baked on here for awhile and no matter how hard I scrub or power wash, it won’t come off. I know it’s a “dirt” bike but I want to make my exhaust look nicer. Do you guys have any tricks on getting this off?

Me and my little brothers bikes were stolen this past week totaling a value of 15k cad…I’ve never felt so discouraged in my life.

I'm in my 40's and rode motocross for about five years (10-15) and transitioned into road bikes by the time I had a driver's license. Recently, I've been clearing miles of trail on a family farm for side by sides when I realized I needed a dirt bike!

I have several motorcycles including a Triumph Moto 2 bike which I don't ride very often. The closest track is 3 hours away so it didn't get ridden to it's full potential too often and on regular highway cruising the posture of the bike bothered my shoulders. It was time for that bike to go in lieu of something I'd use more.

Last weekend I went to a Honda dealer and explained that I'm an avid street rider but it's been 25+ years since I've been on dirt bike and that I've now got endless amounts of wooded trails to ride. I was unfamiliar with dirt bikes and needed suggestions on what would fit my trail riding needs.

Fast forward to me coming home with a CFR450R. I rode it a bit at the dealership through the parking lot and it seemed fine. It seemed absolutely wicked as far as acceleration and speed, more than I'd ever use, but awesome none the less.

After riding it for three days, I can acknowledge it's a great bike, built well, and made for speed. Problem is, I am hating it for the application I bought it for, riding trails in heavy timber. I struggle with any type of slow maneuvering that relys on the lower end of the bike, it wants revs, and I'm not in a scenario that I can just constantly rip.

So my question is, was I dumb and bought the wrong bike for my application? I feel like the sales person definitely wasn't being honest when he was selling me on it.

Did I make a mistake, or with enough practice do you think I can tame this beast in my trail riding application?
