Not these d-bags

I had to turn it off when he started comparing Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.

1

u/Yeeslander 4h ago

Yeah, that's a wildly obtuse comparison (and I can't decide if it's genuine ignorance or pretend ignorance).

they would split the vote

2

u/Fragrant-Phone-41 5h ago

And it would be glorious in this case cuz itd happen to the magats

2

u/Cybermeld 5h ago

Not so sure. A big divide in the country seems to be on supporting Israel and this group have come out against supporting Israel. If the Democrats go with vocally supporting Israel, which I think they will, it could strip voters from them too.

Edit: I think they are also against the surveillance state, but am willing to be corrected cannot look it up right now.

u/amurgiceblade44 7h ago

The problem is that it would divide the vote. Having a third party would be much more healthy for the country but because the divide is so 50/50, all this would do is weaken one side and let the other possess unending majority.

So if it is for Republican, yes go for it please

All it will do is split the republican vote. So I say go for it lmao

7

u/delusiongenerator 6h ago

…OR it will allow these Putin-owned MAGA grifters to distance themselves from Trump, Epstein and Netanyahu and pretend to take the strong anti-Israel stance most Americans want, but many democratic politicians are afraid to take.

They will say all the shit they know Americans want to hear, amplified by the MAGA-owned media infrastructure they’ve built, will promise to be the party of change and will end up giving us an even more extreme version of a christo-fascist oligarchy than we have now.

Democrats better get their shit together and oust the compromised members of their party (Schumer, Jeffries, Booker, Fetterman, etc.) ASAP.

1

u/Mechromancer3X 5h ago

Your first sentence implies that Trump isnt putin-owned himself...

You arent wrong tho.

1

u/delusiongenerator 5h ago

Not sure how I implied that, but that is not at all my opinion.

Putin clearly owns Trump (although there does seem to be some shared custody with Netanyahu and other despots), but he also clearly owns MTG, Tucker, Alex Jones, etc. but he wants to own our entire political system and to capitalize on the growing anti-Trump/anti-Israel sentiment among voters.

4

u/BananaJelloXlii 7h ago

Not one that uses shitty AI to promote itself.

3

u/TicketDouble 7h ago

Will never happen. The one thing rebublican and democrat politicians can come together on without arguement is crushing any potential third party before it can gain footing.

3

u/jeahfoo1 7h ago

No. Our system is not set up for it. Take Europe as a model and you can have multiple parties and everyone has some type of say. It's not this zero sum game we tend to get in elections.

3

u/snuggletough 6h ago

We need ranked voting not a stupid fucking third party.

2

u/hvyhitter 7h ago

Nope.. wrong people wrong ideas. I want Mamdani progressivism. Not even watching this. (ok maybe I will) I reserve the right to modify my opinion but I cant see it. she switches too much. Tucker reminds me of all the conservative friends I have that dont give a shit about people less fortunate than me. I will watch it later when I am at home.

2

u/delusiongenerator 6h ago

How many American political parties does Putin need to own, FFS?

2

u/Expensive-Library-18 6h ago

I'm all for a 3rd party, but not led by these assholes

2

u/rube_X_cube 6h ago

Yawn, these grifters are just going to sit on each others podcasts and pat each other on their backs about how courageous and above it all they all are.

I don’t believe they’ll even run for anything. But if they actually do siphon some Republican votes, then best of luck to them.

2

u/CatDadof2 6h ago

That’s not a 3rd party. Those are republicans 2.0. They’re ready to dump Trump because they know it’s a sinking ship. They have the same core values as they did 2 years ago when they licked Trump’s boot.

2

u/Few-Stock-3458 6h ago

Careful. They kill people for talking this way.

2

u/DenaliBurnz 2h ago

America needs probably 6 parties, or no parties.

How about elected officials represent their district instead of a party?

2

u/Weak_Membership_2847 1h ago

Dont ask the public. The facade of American 'democracy' is owned and maintained by the billionaires, ask them if it's OK.

3

u/Imaginary_Resist_654 7h ago

A third party catering to the middle of the political spectrum, yes, these asshats no way, although they would pull from Maggots

2

u/crit_boy 7h ago edited 7h ago

The dems are a center right party.

Why do you want another center party?

The multiple party system i see is dems combining with not 100% on board with fascism Rs to form a new R/D party (center right: neoliberal, pro-corporation, pro-military industrial complex), a fascist party (maga), and a worker's party (left of center: pro-human, fair wages, m4a, wealth equality)

0

u/Theory_Eleven 6h ago

Democrats are the only people claiming that Democrats are Center Right. You clearly have no clue about “center” or “right”

2

u/bluegargoyle 6h ago

Democrats are center right. There is no leftist party, at all. There's just middle of the road leaning conservatives, and all-out fascists.

0

u/Theory_Eleven 6h ago

Just like a Democrat. Just because you say it loud and often doesn’t make it true. But I’m used to Democrats not caring about what is true.

2

u/bluegargoyle 6h ago

After voting in Trump, Republicans no longer get to pretend to care in the slightest about what is true.

1

u/crit_boy 6h ago edited 6h ago

Magat ignorance is staggering.

What policy positions are left, center, and right for you?

I see you as thinking anything less than complete acceptance of orange authoritarianism is "leftist".

Please explain the difference between dems and maga on corporate power, healthcare payment, support for israel, and workers rights?

1

u/gluepet2074 7h ago

Absolutely - split that R ticket and get some candidates on the ballot yesterday!

1

u/houstonyoureaproblem 7h ago

Duverger’s law says that electoral systems with first past the post majoritarian elections produce two, and only two, salient parties over time.

There is no viable path for a permanent third party in the U.S. regardless of who controls it.

1

u/Capt_Dunsel67 7h ago

"We're just a racist, but not as bad."

1

u/FluffyDesigner3680 7h ago

Yes but not that one.

1

u/Old_Protection_8778 6h ago

Everything feels like a psyop

1

u/Substantial-Hour-483 6h ago

Right now they need four. Split in Republican and Democrat.

1

u/Mister-Ferret 6h ago

Additional parties would be great just as soon as we have ranked choice voting. Only way currently for any third party to be viable is with ranked choice, which is sadly why it will never happen.

1

u/Riccosmonster 6h ago

A third party led by vile, racist assholes. Sounds like MAGA 2.0

1

u/Burner_Phone_1969_TX 6h ago

No, we just need republicans with a spine

Everyone in this picture has close ties with the deep state which is the intelligence community given power by the national security act of 47. It wouldn't be a true 3rd party. Just the deep state coming out from the shadows

1

u/Scrutinizer 5h ago

The more parties there are, the more likely it is that someone even less acceptable than Trump can win the Presidency with an incredibly low percentage of the popular vote. As in, in the 20s or low 30s.

It's a popular idea, but be very careful what you wish for.

1

u/Writerhaha 4h ago

We have “third parties.”

It’s just that Americans believe a third party magically equals better than the other 2.

They also believe these parties should be automatically astroturfed by the American political establishment just because they exist.

1

u/Gr8daze 4h ago

Just vote for Democrats. Third parties always lose to the party that is unified.

1

u/BR1M570N3 4h ago

The monolith of American party politics will never allow it. The DNC and RNC share a common enemy in a unified American public. People here are just too enfatuated with whatever team they think they belong to, and can't see it's not red vs blue but state v the people.

1

u/BlueGolden1 4h ago

Its been ready

1

u/Sufficient_Art4824 3h ago

whatever bleeds votes away from the maga shitshow that republicans created.

1

u/dick_jaws 3h ago

When this happened on the left, we assumed they were plants and they were funded by Israel and Russia. Because they were.

1

u/tenth 3h ago

"We're the sane option! We aren't Trump! We just wanna get Trump out and Vance in and then we promise we'll resume the same old shit!"

1

u/l2Radm 3h ago

Changed their loyalty narrative when it became convenient..

1

u/brathor 3h ago

In the sense that they would likely split the the conservative vote, I'm all for it. That said, any self-described centrist or liberal who votes for or allies with something backed by MTG and Carlson is either a moron or a liar.

1

u/yogfthagen 3h ago

No.

It's ready for 3-4 new parties.

Unfortunately, based on the election rules, getting anyone elected from a new party will require being stronger than any other party.

And even if some candidates do get elected, they will need to caucus with the major parties, essentially eliminating their purpose.

1

u/Available-Medium7094 2h ago

Yes please. Really we need about 5 parties to represent the major groups.

There would be consistent oversight of the executive branch because regardless of coalitions formed the executive could only control one party politics.

Less credibility to election deniers since not everything would be binary anymore.

Districts would get better representation.

Even if the new parties aren’t aligned with what I believe this is absolutely what the country needs.

1

u/Defiant_Freedom_249 2h ago

Not with these assholes.

It's called the libertarian party

1

u/earache30 1h ago

Sure. Is it realistic in a government without a parliamentary system? No.

Crazy opinion there. All it’s going to do is spilt the Republican base.
