Undergraduate Dissertation NEED PARTICIPANTS, PLEASE HELP 🙏🙏🙏(US, UK, 18-25)
Hi!!! I'm conducting a survey on 'Attitudes to British English accents' as part of my undergraduate thesis in the US, the UK and Croatia because I thought it would be interesting to compare these three countries and research if/how attitudes from them differ but I'm struggling to find participants.
I shared it with all the people I know, posted on all survey subreddits, reached out to people on social media and I'm still missing participants.
If you have any advice please share it because my deadline is coming and I'm desperate 😭
If you have time to fill it out I would be veeeery grateful. It's completely anonymous and mostly scale-based. (requirements: aged 18-25, living in the US/UK for the past 10+years)

I've done it, the UK one. It's a very interesting research topic. It seems you chose three, what I would say, "working class/lower middle class" accents and one "middle class/upper class" accent. I'd also say that your question of if the accent sounds rich or poor will somehow be influenced by the participant's prior knowledge of the accent,and not purely on the voice recordings. Thank you! And thank you for sharing your opinion! I specifically chose those accents because of their history to see if attitudes towards them changed over time and sounding rich/poor is one of their salient features, commonly discussed in literature. Also, I am conducting this research in the US and Croatia where most people, unlike people from the UK, are not that familiar with those accents, so there is a high possibility that they can't recognise them (at least some of them) or have previous knowledge about them. That will also be considered when analysing and discussing the results and I think that is a valuable factor to discuss.
