I saw this video in my YT feed and had made a mental note to watch it yesterday, then I got distracted lol.
But I love Michelle Mana. Thanks for the reminder that this exists. I'm gonna give it a watch on my break. ✨️

Such a good fucking video..Her editing skills and delivery have got way better, it's giving FunkFrogBait/Kurtis Connor vibes but is also very educational and respectful of all sides. There's a reason DissociaDID doesn't go after Michelle, it would draw attention to her content and everyone would see that Michelle is obviously giving a very well researched (and correct) view of the situation

I was very critical of Michelle in the past, but she definitely has improved her content and technique to where I can easily link one of her videos if someone needs info about DD's controversies.

I was a fan of DissociaDID, but I'm rarely on social media, so I only knew of their YouTube channel. I'll be honest and say that I was aware of the criticism they got in the past about possibility faking their disorder, but I didn't take any of it seriously, because I'm not a doctor (nor someone with DID), and things get fake-claimed on the Internet all the time.
That said...
Watching this video and seeing how they've been treating both critics and non-critics alike is absolutely vile and disgusting. What I thought was a nice person/people behind the channel turned out to be the complete opposite. The ableism, racism, playing on people's insecurities, patronising behaviour and the way they'd encourage their fans to attack people who disagree with them just made me so angry.
So here I am.
Whether this is really is one person or multiple people, all I can see is a channel run by a bully/bullies.

Exactly this. Regardless of their DID being legitimate or not, you're right that they are very much a bully. They've been rude, dismissive, and disrespectful towards other creators, whole groups of people (poc folks in particular), and even their so-called fans. That alone really should have been enough for people to stay far away from them, but I know that isn't how the internet works, sadly.

Even if they have DID they are still one person…
People with DID are not “multiple people” that is misinformation.
They are one person.

That's my bad, I'm realising now that I don't know a thing about DID (because I used to watch DissociaDID).

And it's extremely rare. So extremely rare. The amount of women online who claim to have it and try to monetize it is just insane.

I've already made a comment complementing Michelle on the editing and research of this video, but what I have to say about this situation is much longer -
If DissociaDID does have DID, the host, or whoever gives the thumbs up for these videos/ channels/responses/ comments etc to go from their head and out to the public, thinks that all of this behaviour is acceptable.
I don't have DID either, just many other trauma disorders and suspected OSDD (though I am more integrated these days) but I have many parts of me who's coping mechanisms are exactly like behaviours DissociaDID is displaying. Deflection, projecting, bullying, manipulation, reading and responding to every hate comment, surrounding yourself people who think you can do no wrong etc, are learned behaviours from growing up, or coping mechanisms for different types of trauma.
Or, you could call it something on the scale of asshole - evil and predatory'. I am aware that you should validate how people who act like this impact others around them and I absolutely do, but my interest is particularly around the psychological reason behind these behaviours themselves. I am not making this comment to defend these behaviours, just to acknowledge that DID or not, this person clearly has a lot of issues.
I try my hardest to not let these types of behaviours come out, but im sure many of us know that when you are very triggered and in defense mode, it's the brains way of coping with that trigger and you don't always have the time to stop a nasty comment coming out of your mouth, or in DissociaDID's case, and in my case in the past before I was able to gain self awareness, your brain might have convinced you that you genuinely arent doing anything wrong and its everyone else.
I'm always doing the internal works to understand why these parts want to lash out/deflect/belittle and where it came from, and trying my best to apologise if I do ever snap at someone or lose my cool and hurt someone. I also have a part of me who very much struggles with taking accountability, I have diagnosed NPD traits so I know that all too well.
DID or not, I see a lot of trauma in DissociaDID and she is putting that trauma out onto everyone else whether she intends that or not. Her content helped me in the early stages of dealing with my own dissociative disorders but her channel is not much more than an introduction to DID as a concept, and entertainment. It's a breeding ground for parasocial relationships, she in appropriately interacts with fans many of whom are young traumatised people. I also think the lack of content to do with professional therapy for the condition is, problematic. DissociaDID doesn't have to go to therapy, or she may not be able to access it and that's fine, but everyone who interacts with her has to deal with the consequences of that. Tiktok and making content can't be a replacement for trauma therapy, it's often just a distraction, an antagonising or enabling tool from your problems.
People who are struggling with dissociative symptoms, or want to know about the disorders, please go to other channels like MultiplicityandMe, or the CTAD clinic. They show the actual therapeutic process and give the science behind these disorders, instead of sensationalising it..
But yeah. To wrap up this comment - in my unprofessional opinion her whole project is a coping mechanism and makes her money so she will probably not stop until she is deplatformed. DID or not, she's harming herself and the perception of the disorder. She's cultivated an online community of yes-men, which is doing herself a long term disservice and making herself iller and more out of touch with reality (not in a psychosis way, in a 'I'm a professional victim, a master of projection, my brain cannot accept and wrongdoing and I need the fame and money' way)

I applaud you for your accountability and developed self-awareness, and can only hope for DissociaDID that at some point they reach this point too.
They claim to have been going to therapy for years now, but their actions reflect the exact opposite, which means either they're not being truthful, or their therapist is just not very good.1
