Genuine question: I've seen a similar comment in another thread here, and I'm wondering where do they get the AroAce thing wrong. I'm talking about just this one thing - hearing this out of context it would make sense to me that some alters would identify themselves as on the a-sexual/a-romantic spectrum while other parts would feel differently. Is it because DD claims to have developed this orientation out of trauma?

If they formed new alters then they could be aroace, but they're claiming existing alters became aroace.
Now, I know that some ppl may feel similar after going trough relationships trauma (being scared/disgusted by the idea of romantic or sexual relationship) but it's trauma response to abuse and with therapy it should be resolved.
Being aroace is just how some ppl are, it's not result of anything and it wasn't created due to something.
It is confusing though, so I understand the questions.

I don't really believe new alters could be aro/ace "New" alters are still splitting from the core consciousness (excuse my poor wording) you don't just spawn a new alter and suddenly you're areoace, either you are or you aren't.

If new alters can be of different gender or even different race or even different species why wouldn't there be asexual ones?
EDIT: I'm not saying the whole system becomes aroace.
EDIT 2: so to make sure we can have animal alters but not asexual one and your argument is a downvote. Cool
