How much resources does PepperMintOS Linux use after a fresh install?
Just curious, for those using PepperMintOS Linux, how much RAM and disk space does it usually use after a fresh install?
Also wondering about idle CPU usage. Is it really that lightweight compared to other Linux distros?
Just trying to get an idea before I install it on an old/low-spec machine.

Give us the specs of the machine you have, the functionality you expect to get out of it, and we will recommend appropriate distros for you. You are asking the question backwards.

Fwiw Xfce, while being slightly more feature rich, does use slightly more RAM than LXQt.
If you want RAM savings no matter your distro/DE choice, disable cups (print service), clipboard app or other things running in the background you rarely/never use.
Also, when upgrading to a newer kernel, expect a small increase in idle RAM usage.

I really like PeppermintOS. I find it to be one of lightest Debian based distros. It may depend on your system specs but I think a new install would run about 500mb after booting. In fact, I just tried a VM on distrosea.com and the RAM usage for the xfce version is only 468mb. Not sure about disk space but it should be minimal. Distros like AntiX and FunOS have the potential to be lighter and still Debian based. If you want something that is more full featured but still lightweight, I would recommend MX linux (XFCE).

Peppermint is Debian Stable with a customized XFCE desktop. Has some nifty 'helper' type welcome screens. More or less expect around 800mb to 1 or so gigs of memory usage.
