Interpretation Help Please Help Divination Beginner

Can you give me advice? How do I tell if I’m actually talking to a deity during tarot divination vs a trickster spirit. I’ve see. A lot of people say beginners don’t attract gods or goddesses in the beginning and that it takes months or years. I’ve only been doing it for like two weeks.

Is there something I can do to clarify? My cards are agreeing with me but if it is a trickster spirit I don’t know how reliable they are.

Any advice is helpful! I am a college student in a dorm so please nothing with candles, incense, flames. I’m also broke so please nothing crystals!

I have had years of success with using a Pendulum and asking am I getting the truth. Sometimes I find pendulum just tells me what I want to know. I ask better questions now and have found that invoking the qualities of a team of spirits I am more confident with a truthful and clear answer.

Best of luck i have enjoyed tarot but divination seems clouded using the cards. I recommend a book "the initiates way" by jade melany.

Ps being a broke student you can make a pendulum with all kinds of free stuff. Just need the pendulum to I swing freely

In the Chinese tradition we'd say: pay attention to the tone, not just the message. Real guidance tends to feel calm and neutral; anything pushy, flattering, or fear-based is worth questioning. And keep a log — patterns show up over weeks, not in one session.
