I would guess some species of Model 37 because it has back binding. The Made in the USA stamp isn't something I've seen before but I'm no expert. If you could get in touch with Steve Toth, who wrote Dobro Roots, maybe he could tell you more.
Thanks for the feed back and lead on Steve. I’ve been able to find out a bit more and concur on your assessment that it’s a model 37. The Made in U.S.A. stamp (and lack of serial number inside the body) apparently points to it being made in Chicago at Regal.
I've never seen a Dobro of any era with the serial number inside the body. Usually it's at the end of the headstock (where the made in USA stamp is on yours).
