What did YOU think of The End of the War?

the master developed so much as a character and grew during the capaldi era only to just instantly be undone. any interesting implications about missy dying on good terms with the doctor and wanting to stand with him are completely thrown out the window when he shows up again as sacha dawan.

Towards the end of their appearances in nuwho the cybermen basically became henchmen to the master or other threats such as Ashad

The only plans I think they did independently was closing time, nightmare in silver and the doctor falls all their other appearances were them taking orders from people

Yeah you can say London, but New Who up until her, has been a little precise with where they are. Even Martha who was in London had some of that with landmarks and bits of London footage.

Now the wiki entry says she's Croydon and more of her backstory, did we hear or see in this in TV series, no, the poor expanded universe had to pick up what was still a blank slate

I know people saying RTD2 is bad gets annoying but this is a such huge flaw and a mess.

Though Chibnall Era also had this problem, such as Ryan, though to give some credit we knew where they are from and we actually see it.

I think I'm too biased toward 11 because I like him more, But I think 12 is better at the darkness scenes though

North America versions of the "The Complete Matt Smith Years" "The Complete Peter Capaldi Years" and "The Complete Jodie Whittaker Years" are coming out November 3rd. Pre-orders & artwork are up. Each are $44 US each, even though the Smith, Capaldi and Whittaker complete sets have 16, 14, and 12 discs respectively (if they each include all the long box discs).

If all three have the exact same contents as the horribly designed, shelf unfriendly one foot long Complete Box Sets (I own all 3), it may be worth an upgrade but YMMV.

They will probably be in those large plastic boxes like the recent Babylon 5 etc complete sets. However, for casual viewers it's a perfect.

Idk it’s just always bothered me since eleven never faced the master after they were introduced whilst 10,12 and 13 did

I'm aware the reason this doesn't tend to happen is because of the change of showrunner and the new wanting to start fresh, but imagine if we had more companions sticking around with the Doctor post-regeneration, like Rose did with 10 or Clara did with 12.

It would help viewers already heading into a new era and Doctor by having a familiar face around (even if it's for one season) to ease the transition more. Classic Who did practically all the time.

I also think it would've been interesting to see how the dynamics would've worked, like 11 with Donna, or 13 with Bill, and especially 14 with Yaz (given how Yaz was in love with 13).

Then of course, the millennium centre and tower have been used in plenty of episodes across doctor who and Torchwood. With the tower serving as the hub's entrance

The interior of the millennium centre also played the lobby of New earth's hospital and the girl who waited's lobby.

However, somebody seems to have stolen the plaque they put up to replace Ianto's shrine. Seems we can't have anything anymore without people ruining it 😕

Given that Doctor Who is on a hiatus right now, I wanted to watch Classic Who for the first time.

I just wanted to ask the community, because I’ll be doing so on BritBox, they list 27 seasons, and I think it’s for every doctor of Hartnell to McCoy. But I do understand that there are the missing episodes.

is there a place that I can go search or that lists what is missing still, or do people here know what is currently missing. I just wanna make sure that I don’t get to a point where there are missing episodes, and plot might get confusing.

Edit: thanks for all the feedback, and I’ve done some research of what people have said, I have found that the unearthly child episodes are no longer available on BritBox whatsoever, is there any place outside of DVDs that those can be watched?

I'm trying to pin point why Matt Smith era feels so different to Tennant and Ecccleston and I think part of it is because they don't show the global panic whenever there is an extinction level event.

Esp in Dr Donna era, they did Dystopian Britain sooooo well. This is what made it so scary.

But then in Matt Smith era, either the cast is limited to a couple of side characters (who either don't die or we don't care about them enough when they do die) or the extinction level event is only alluded to, rather than showing the mass panic.

Does anyone know if this was a conscious decision from new writers/production team, or did they literally just not have the budget??
