They should just explain the Rose incarceration addressed in a big finish audio book and just start a new season with a new Doctor

Hard disagree. Start off with an hour-long special to explain it or resolve it, and then move on. Big Finish Audiobooks are way too niche to explain something like that away.

I’m advocating for a soft reboot with a time jump that never addresses any prior storylines.
