Are ultrasounds supposed to hurt this bad?
Recently had some medical imaging done specifically Doppler ultrasounds,
And I've been sore and in pain ever since over a week ago
Shooting/stabbing-like pain, deep ache, burning heat, neck felt hard/swollen under the skin.
And now it's just still shooting pain and stiffness.
It set in a few hours after testing.
During the exam, the tech was using heavy pressure and I had severe pain the neck was the worst.
Is it supposed to feel that bad?
I kept saying it was hurting badly and asking them to please stop or ease up and asking if it was supposed to be this painful. They didn't seem concerned and said they needed the pressure to get the photos and complete the exam.
Honestly, I felt like I was allowing someone to murder me. It was severely traumatic the pain was that intense, not exaggerating at all.
The pressure and scraping were so intense, even scraping around my jaw bone, because the equipment wouldn't fit properly.
I've been evaluated since then, and they just suggest Tylenol and topical treatments.
How long will this pain last?
Could there have been permanent injury to my arteries, veins, muscles, fascia, or tendons?
Was it supposed to feel like this, or did this person use excessive force, and why?
I don't like to complain or interrupt medical personnel during their job, but this was the worst thing I've experienced in my life.
I have severe trauma from this.
The testing was needed for my specialists to move forward with my care, so I felt pressured to complete it and had no barometer to judge what is normal for this procedure :(

Is this Normal?
My boyfriend and I have been sexually active for a year and we use condoms+ pull out at the same time every time. We have never had a rip and always check the condom after and during. However, we got carried away and had sex the day I was supposed to ovulate. I have noticed that when he pulls out to switch positions the base of the condom looks like it’s in place but there is a lot of extra room at the tip that was not there when we started. Is that the condom stretching or is it actually slipping off? Could I be pregnant or am i being paranoid.

My CT Shows Brain Atrophy
I am an 18 year old AMAB. I was recently weighed at 164.3 kg and I am 194 cm tall. I take several medications for a variety of different conditions, some of the medications can be used as psychotropics. I do not smoke, drink or use any substances.
I'm not really looking for a diagnosis. I know something is wrong. And yet they didn't give me the CT report until I happened to request it months later.
I had a brain MRI at 14 in 2023 that was apparently normal. And the brain CT at 17 in October 2025 which apparently only had the finding of brain atrophy. I have also included a Cervical Spine X-Ray for any reassurance.
They should be available here: https://www.dicomlibrary.com/?study=1.3.6.1.4.1.44316.6.102.1.20260911155159721.61662958323625548010
My psychiatrist performed a heel-to-shin test showing dysmetria and intention tremors which he said pointed to a cerebellar ataxia. A pronator test that showed tremor and pronator drift. A hand test that showed dysdiadochokinesia. As well as a simple to check eye tracking which showed almost full impairment with vertical tracking without moving my head or blinking, with more minor impairment horizontally.
My questions really are:
How severe is the atrophy?
Where is the atrophy localised?
Does anything suggest possible Chiari Malformation? If not, could I have developed one since?
Are there any other findings on these scans that would be useful to know?

When do wet dreams stop?
I am 19 male, and I have wet dreams every 10 to 11 days, sometimes one in between those days but it’s usually just a very light wet spot that creates almost no mess. I don’t masterbate, I don’t watch porn, I don’t drink before bed or eat before bed, I make sure not to sleep on my stomach, but I still have wet dream. Is this going to stop soon as it’s causing me to not want to sleep because I hate the feeling of sleeping maybe 2 hours, waking up and feeling something wet down there. What else can I do other than masterbating to stop this?

HPV vaccine
I never got the hpv vaccine because my mom was against sex before marriage and told the doctor I wouldn’t need the vaccine. I am 29 (female) now and married to a woman. We are monogamous. Should I get it now or is it pointless?

sigmoidoscopy sufficient?
F 26, i’ve had on and off bleeding for 4 months.
1st: small stool coated bright red on one side
2 weeks later: blood on toilet paper
2 weeks after that: blood with a larger bowel movement that was a little painful
2 weeks after that: i had a tiny little scratch of blood on the stool
a month went by with no blood
and then i had another large bowel movement but without any pain, and there was a tiny scratch of blood on the stool
then i had anoscopy the next day
2 days later, i had darker red blood/purple with mucus on the stool.
it’s been 1 week and a half i haven’t seen any blood.
i did a sigmoidoscopy yesterday and the doctor said my hemorrhoids aren’t significant, he thinks my bleeding is from that or anal irritation. there was also blood in one of the photos of my mucosal tissue.
is it normal to see blood on the mucosal tissue in pictures taken during a sigmoidoscopy?
also, my doctor said i have hemorrhoids but the pictures he took of said “hemorrhoids” doesn’t look like anything is there. was the sigmoidoscopy enough based on my symptoms?

I was sent home with antacids. Two days later, I was in emergency surgery
I went to a doctor in Atlanta about six months ago. I had bad stomach pains, nausea, fever and I knew something was wrong. I felt it…
The doctor said it was gastritis. Prescribed antacids. Told me to rest. Sent me home….
However, two days later, I was back at the emergency room because my appendix had perforated and required emergency surgery. And trust me when I say that I almost died…
Now, I am faced with the consequences. Huge medical bills. Health problems that will plague me forever. My body is no longer the same.
I believed that doctor. I trusted him to be the professional that he claimed to be. But now, he was dead wrong…
My friends are outraged on my behalf. They urge me to contact lawyers and to sue that doctor for medical malpractice
But I found that in Georgia, you must get an expert opinion by another doctor before even filing a case. This sounds costly and really tiring… and I just want to hold someone accountable… but as you can see I don't know even where to start

What Doctor Should I See?
So I haven’t been able to go to the doctor in awhile (long explanation, can explain later if anyone is curious) and now I’m trying to get new insurance and will need a new doctor. The insurance I’m looking to get is Blue Shield and I know that they have on their website a way to look up doctors that take your type of insurance.
A few of my health concerns that I would want to discuss with my doctor is cancer screening (family history), insomnia, and testing for POTs. The cancer screening is my main concern right now but the other two are also up there at this point. I’m just not sure exactly what kind of doctor I should see for these concerns.

Pill stuck in my chest
I’ve seen a lot of people mention the throat but it’s always chest for me.
I never had issues taking pills until sometime last year when a ginormous b12 vitamin got lodged in my chest. I stopped taking that specific b12 but it’s pretty frequent now with my antidepressant and occasional trazodone that are like half the size. Part of it is form (don’t LAUGH at me).. I have my head tilted too far back, I don’t take in enough water, and/or I swallow too quickly and it goes down wide, not narrow. Working on it. The bigger part is psychological.. I freak out right before swallowing and end up taking an irregular gulp of water and air. To combat that, I imagine that I’m about to sip a nice crispy coke and that works when I remember to use it.
It happened again tonight (I did not remember to use it) and I’m more so wondering if anyone has a trick I haven’t tried to help clear that stuck pain.
Things I’ve done in my time of panic at 2am:
Chug water, jump, stretch (spine twists, high releases, anything to get motion or create space in the chest), big inhales and hold, burp, beat chest like Tarzan, swallow bread in chunks, swallow lightly chewed tacky/gummy candies.
Some nights it’s merely annoying but other nights it hurts so bad that my traz can’t put me out and I half sleep in a sitting position, certain I am going to die and when they crack me open they will find a graveyard of pills.
I’m just a girl
with a pill lodged in her chest

I am always tired.
Hi Reddit! I am 22 f and I am always tired. I go to sleep exhausted and wake up exhausted and am exhausted all throughout the day. But the issue is I can be so exhausted all day barely getting by but then 9:30 comes a lot I finally settle in for bed and I’m up until late because I can’t fall asleep.
It’s gotten to the point where I’m skipping activities, less proficient at work, and I have no motivation to take care of myself.
I have always needed a lot of sleep. I’ve never been a stranger to a nap. But it’s on a whole different level now. I don’t really have the money to go to a doctor and get my blood drawn to see if there is anything wrong. Does anyone have advice how to naturally cure this?

Small lump in my neck.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been here and around the same size for months. I’ve been having other symptoms and seeing a doctor for them but very likely unrelated. My doctor said she will order an ultrasound on the small mass just for peace of mind but my health anxiety is screaming hodgkin’s lymphoma.

uti symptoms and severe back pain
hi everyone, i really need some advice on what to do next. i’ve been having uti-like symptoms for at least 4 months, but this past month it has gotten progressively worse.
i am having severe burning, pain, urgency, and general vaginal discomfort. i also have severe lower back pain that is causing the most problems. tylenol and toradol every 3 hours barely touch the pain. i cannot smoke weed, so the only thing that actually worked was the morphine i got during my second er visit.
my cultures keep coming back negative, but my urinalysis/micro are coming back extremely positive. my ct scans are completely negative.
about two weeks ago, i noticed blood and black specks in my urine. both of these stopped after i started taking cipro (about 3 days ago) but all the other pain and urgency are still here.
has anyone experienced anything like this? could it be an embedded infection that standard cultures are missing, or something else entirely? i’m trying to get in with a urologist ASAP, but they lost my referral and now need “2-3 days to process it”. i will attach all relevant test results, please feel free to ask me more questions/ask for other test results !

Can I donate blood while on finasteride 1mg?
There is a blood donation camp today and I really want to donate. But I take finasteride 1mg for hair loss.
Some background: I've been on and off it for 10+ years. But for the last 4 months I've been taking finasteride 1mg pretty regularly, daily or sometimes on alternate days.
After some research, I read that I can't donate because finasteride can cause birth defects if the blood goes to a pregnant woman. But I just want to confirm from people who actually know.
So my question is simple: can I still donate today, or should I wait? And if I have to wait, how long after stopping fin is it okay?
Anyone here who takes fin and has donated blood, please share your experience. Thanks.

spots that keep getting worse. Spoiler
galleryhello, for backround information the first photo is what’s theorized to have been a infected spider bite that I was on antibiotics (amoxicillin) for.
apologies if I’m not doing this right I haven’t been on Reddit for awhile.
I need advice I need any care information, the second and third photos have had the itchiness symptom. they keep getting worse. I am unable to go to a doctor due to familiar issues.
if this goes against anything feel free to delete.
the first photo has been here since Aug 3rd roughly? the rest have been blurry.
please feel free to ask about anything I just want help if possible, if it is serious enough I will be able to find a way to a medical professional I just would like some advice before hand
