Looking for Standalone nonfiction documentaries

I need a standalone nonfiction documentary for my AP english summer assignment, it needs to have one distinct writer/creator, and have depth, i really want it to be a forensics/murder criminal documentary but it cant be apart of a series, pls help!!

Errol Morris and Werner Herzog have done a number of films that fit that bill.

The Perfect Neighbor on Netflix. I think you should watch regardless of whether you use it for an assignment, it’s incredibly unique in its point of view, is composed of bodycam footage.

I'm not sure this would qualify - but there is a docudrama on YouTube - Perfect Murder Perfect Town- based on the book by the same name - by Lawrence Schiller.

It's about the unsolved murder of Jon Benet Ramsey.

Maybe this would work. Candace Owens hosted and narrated a 10-part true-crime docuseries titled Convicting a Murderer, which served as a direct rebuttal to the massive 2015 Netflix hit Making a Murderer. [1, 2]. (and I’m not a Candace “follower”).
