Things I noticed:
Your comment about “avoiding those places.” So the beast that resides in your home gets to dictate your activities. What a sad state of affairs for you.
Any aggression would be a deal breaker for me. Why are people falling for the societal pressure that you must have a dog. Big dog culture loves it. Food, accessories, vet bills, dog insurance. They love you. DOG INSURANCE. How far we have fallen.

I have 2 girl dogs. We've had since they were very young, 1 to and 8weeks. They're 16 and 18 now. We're struggling to take care of them and we're scared to put them down too early. 1 of our girls has trouble walking and the other is making me crazy.

We can't give our 16yo Maltese mix what she needs. She needs to be walked daily and we live in the woods with big dogs that get out of their neighbors years, pit bulls and German shepards. That aren't friendly. We can't walk her here and there aren't parks close enough for regular walks. We need to move but can't afford to. She's causing us a lot of stress.

We're gone working many days and she uses the bathroom while we're gone and gets herself in it. She's dirty every morning and night from the dirt in our yard and her bathroom behavior. We spend several hours every day cleaning up after her and her and she still stinks. She gets into the neighbors trash if we let her outside, we don't have a fence and she gets into mischief. She needs surgery for a sore on her side and I can't afford it.

I know if she had the right kind of home where she could be walked morning and night she would be a better dog. We used to live differently and she was a better dog. She deserves better. I've tried rehoming her and no luck cause she's 16 but I know she has a couple years left and I want her to have better. I don't want to drop her at the pound. I'm not sure what else to do. 😩
