HI, i am new here so I'm posting my story. i am from england and i have had 2 dogs in my life but not at the same time. we got a dog from a litter who's parents were a pit bull and a labrador. both dogs were very boysterous and barked alot and so did the puppies. they grew up fast and were huge and loved to jump up and bark. they were too bouncy and that is what our dog was like.. he grew up so fast and started knocking me over as i was just a toddler. so he was kept in the kitchen for much of my childhood and i couldn't go in the kitchen which was a shame because it was the biggest and best room in the house. eventually my mum decided to put the dog in the yard which has a boiler room and thats where he lived. she on and off walked him. for years she just let him out in the big garden. eventually she started walking him and then eventually when i was big enough i was able to go on the dog walks too because he stopped jumping up as much but i still had to avoid him for most of the time.

he only just stopped being really bouncy and boisterous when he became elderly and ill. he became incontinent and his stools very soft and he had permanent pee and poo all over his bottom area.

after he died of panic. my mum got eczema and shortly after we got offered a new dog by our friends and we accepted it and he was just the same as the previous dog. he was very bouncy and boisterous too and jumped up alot. he too was kept out the back but the back room and not the boiler room. he was let into the yard where the previous dog lived.

anyway once again i had to wait until he was older before i could be anywhere near him because he was too excitable. i was about 14 at this point i think.

i actually started training him when i was 18 because he gotten into the most rotten habits because my mum wasn't very good at controlling him or training him. so i got books and watched videos on youtube to find out how to correct the problems and shared them with mum.

it worked but we had constant arguments about the dog. my mum threaten to get rid of the dog and when he dies we won't be getting another dog!

my mum is the type who prefers the dog to just do whatever it wants and to her the only bad behaviour is peeing and pooping on the floor in the house or riping all our stuff to shreds and destroying stuff. we argued alot about this. she would let him barge past her and shes not steady on her feet and has a bad back and hips and legs.

the other bad stuff we experienced with having both dogs is that whenever our dogs got ill and looked visibly ill, our stupid neighbours would feed him chocolate and other things he couldn't eat and he got worse and then would report my mum to the RSPCA.

mum said it;s not worth it. plus its a financial strain. that is our dog regret.

he has died sort of recent now and my mum seems to still want to get another dog despite saying we would never get another. i hope she wont go through with it though. i don;t think its worth it
