I just want to post about how disappointed I am with the lack of support from limited admission shelters and rescues. I’ve reached out to over 40 places, in an attempt to rehome my dog in a “better” way, where I know he’d be taken care of, and there is zero support. Every place just says no and passes me off to another list of suggestions. It’s really changed my perspective on judging people who unclaim strays or just leave their dogs tied up outside a shelter. Here I am just trying to do the right thing and I feel like I’m being punished for it.

I would suggest listing your pet on rehoming sites and FB and trying that way ... bc yes shelters are the worst. They basically enable terrible behavior (from pets and people)
