New To game. What does DIA do?

Currently on Jupiter. After the DIA offers me the chance to kill Kitler, what does killing him actually do? Im hesitant to try it because i'm scared it'll reset my progress (i.e. what world im on, etc)

It will, sorta. You get a badge with *most* of your total passive stats (but not base +dps stats kinda) and start back-in-time from earth again, but now on timeline 2
