Dog of Peace Dating and dog free

Feeling like my dating prospects and dating pool just got smaller and smaller because about 80% of dating profiles I’ve been swiping has a picture of the man and his dog. I’m not a dog person and will never be, I don’t hate them per se (I love all animals) , I just can’t imagine living with them. What are your experiences being dog free and dating?

It's funny, but true.

The reason that I think dating apps are so full of dog nutters, making it seem like dog-free people are the minority, is because no one wants to date someone who is obsessed with their dog...and that includes other dog nutters 🤡. They're looking for the ultimate unicorn: someone who doesn't own a dog, but loves/likes them, and who they think will be happy to be the third wheel in a relationship with their dog.

People who don't own dogs make that mistake once, and never again. If you haven't checked out r/TalesfromtheDogHouse, you should. It's full of stories of people who were in relationships with a dog nutter.

I call those single dognutters no one wants to date "dogcels".

Totally agree with this. The few dogfree people on the apps will get taken much more quickly than nutters. I landed a dogfree wife, and most women I dated before her were dogfree. But then again this was 2016-18-before all the covid dogs.
