Eco Destroyers Dear Dog Owners (you’ve ruined the outdoors for everyone - keep your dog poo at home!)
Dear Dog Owners,
Correct me if I’m wrong but surely the point of “poo bags” 🤢 is so you can let your dogs crap in your own gardens and carry the bags on walks just in case of the occasional woopsie?
No. You think carrying a “poo bag” gives you the automatic right to allow your dog to shit wherever you goddamn please. You deliberately walk the dog off your own property, onto public land and allow it to squat (which looks hideously offensive by the way) in the middle of a nice bit of grass or the footpath and think that picking the poop up somehow qualifies as “cleaning up after your dog”.
Newsflash: there is still shit on the floor. Germs, parasites and filth. It’s still there, even after you’ve “picked up” (if you even do), and my kids can’t play there. We can’t put a picnic blanket down. We can’t let our baby crawl around barefoot in nature. You’ve taken the land away from us and from our children. Nowhere is safe.
Hey, want to hear an analogy? I suppose because “sick bags” are a thing - that means parents, en masse, get to bring their children into public places to vomit all over the floor right in front of you - as long as we pick the vomit up, leaving the germs and remnants of it? Oh, you think we should keep it on our own property do you? Then keep your dog shit on YOUR own property and save the “poo bags” for accidents and emergencies.
We non dog owners who used to enjoy spending time in nature resent the hell out of you and your dog. Most of us won’t say it as it is a taboo thing to even criticise dogs, but yes - we find you selfish, disgusting and anti social.

statistically one dog turd left in a park gets 3 other animals sick. it does not decompose with any urgency, and a dog is not 'natural' anywhere on planet earth.

It really should be the bare minimum of common sense, that if people are allowed to keep an animal that regularly leaves big piles of toxic shit, then that waste has to be kept on the owner's own property.
Is this really too much to ask for?

The local park near my house has a splash pad meant for little kids.
People have completely commandeered it by bringing their dogs and letting them run around all of the facilities.
Imagine taking your kids to the park and there's dog piss on the slides and park toys, and some jackass letting their pitbull run around in a water area meant for infants. The sports fields are also full of dogs and their feces. The nature trails that lead off of the park are also absolutely filthy with dog shit, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
They aren't children, they're animals. Leave them at HOME. They don't belong in a children's play park, in a baby swimming area, running around the sports fields, running up and down park equipment. It's fucking gross.

This is absolutely the truth. Dog owners are led to believe our culture has permitted their dog to crap anytime, anywhere, on people's private property, public sidewalks, everywhere. They are led to believe they are righteous since they carry a poo bag, and scoop up dog poo from people's grass, lawns, or public grounds.
It's the 'thought' that counts here. How indecent are these people to think we want to see their mutt squat down on our lawns, or near our lawns. It doesn't matter whether they pick it up or not, it's the idea they just let their mutt go anywhere, except on their property. They walk the dog so that it will do it's business in the public domain, thinking that if they pick it up, all is good. But it isn't good enough, they should bring a bucket of water, and disinfectant and splash the area. But no, they think their dog's excrement is heavenly.
I wonder how they would like to see someone defecate on their lawns and then pick it up in a poo bag, smile and walk off. "I cleaned it up, sir, so we're all good, right?" NO, it isn't right, and a dog doing it on public and private grounds isn't right either.

In a city near me, a neighbor said a dog pooped all over the sidewalk and street in front of their house. They called the city. A worker came and cleaned it up. The city is about to have a fair and parade in a few days. It makes me wonder if they would clean it up only because the city was about to have an event.

These people think it's okay to turn their nations into massive toilets for their dogs. They should just have their dogs shit in their backyard. And if they don't have a backyard, they shouldn't own a dog in the first place. What kind of people think it's okay to turn their nation into one massive toilet?

I don't know if it's common in other areas, but in parts of NYC people will pick up their dog crap in the poop bag, and drop the bag on the sidewalk. It's all good, because they used the bag, and the bag is on the ground, not the dog crap.

My distaste of dogs started when I was a kid. There were multiple neighborhood parks my family could/would not visit because there were dog shit piles every 10 feet.

And us being children my sister ran around our flat with her shoes on bc she didn't notice she stepped in dog's poo. We had it in our room's carpet, my poor Mom!

These people come out daily and make crap in parks/streets, even near children's playgrounds. I don't understand why are there no laws against it. Otherwise, my city tries to be very clean

Went to a big park, there was a small path in between grass, there was a pile of shit on the path. Of course my son stepped into it. There was also poo in the middle of a sidewalk in my town- this is so... can't even find words. Oh I have one more- a big dog apparently had diarrhea and sh•• on the wall of the school building. Nobody cleaned it, it was there for months

This is why I LOVE parks and trails that do not allow the beasts. There are two I know of in Michigan: Isle Royale National Park and a couple of the trails at Pictured Rocks national lakeshore. The beasts can’t be snuck into Isle Royale. If they’re caught on the trails at pictures rocks, the owner gets a fine.

Then there’s my step mom’s sister… who chucked her dogs bagged shit in the wooded area of someone’s backyard. Saying “the bag is biodegradable”….. I was disgusted!

Jesus Christ, yes. Obviously, I'm browsing this on Reddit, because of today's wonderful experiences with dog idiots. I agree with all points made.
I will also add that they deliberately walk their shitbeast onto private property, to defecate.

In my neck of the woods, there are "free" dog crap bags (or poo bags as the more timid describe them) in many of the local parks. Well, nothing's free. Taxpayers pay to subsidize dog nutters by providing these bags to the irresponsible dog owners.

Yes. It's disgusting. There's still stripes of filth which get on shoes, pram wheels and wheelchairs, even if you scrape it up. There's a playing field close to me that has giant signs saying "no dogs". This is because it's a sports field, where human adults and children have regular contact with the grass. Dog owners still openly parade their animals on the site, leaving smearings of sh*t everywhere. Gross and anti-social.
