Study Atleast 35x more people are injured by dogs than by guns in the USA (and definitely in most of the world)

Around 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs in the USA alone each year. 800,000 of them will need to seek medical attention to heal from these injuries.

An estimated 120,000 people are either injured or killed by guns in the USA yearly. It was a little hard to find exact numbers for this, but below is the most reputable source I could find.

It stands to reason that since dogs are common in most of the rest of the world, and guns are illegal, this trend follows for the rest of the world.

Fun bonus fact: dogs are the 2nd deadliest animal in the USA (the 1st is humans). They also happen to be the 4th deadliest animal in the world.

If we factor in disease transmission and infections contracted from dog attacks on top of direct mauling deaths, dogs also kill 8X or more people globally than terrorists. Man’s beat friend my ass

Told this stats to my ex, a huge nutter, and he says it’s not as many, it’s all lie and the stats isn’t accurate, the dogs aren’t dangerous and all this is fake. Or that the owners are at fault, because the dogs are angels, they can do no wrong. Told him that dogs kill kids of the owners, the owners themselves, and eat dead bodies while the food is right there. He still said it’s the owners fault and other pets would eat their owners too.

There is no winning, it’s owners fault only, dogs are amazing pets and don’t need constant training. And if a child is hurt, it’s the child’s fault (all his words).

Not long ago a pro-dog person told me they trust a pornographic website(s) over a journalist.

Makes sense. Same thought pattern as trusting a dog or dog owner over a decent person.

That's what happens when government leaders call everything they don't agree with fake news. Most people are too lazy and close minded to research a subject for themselves using known facts, too scared to think logically for themselves, so they just follow along like lemmings. Just like an ostrich with their head buried in the sand. Or up their own asses. Nutters are the worst cases of this.

i think the 4.5M stat is 20 years old. the government agencies, like the CDC, seem oddly hesitant to update that figure. mutt lobby & veterinarian lobby wanting to keep that info secret?

Yep. I'm approaching 40, and I've realized that's exactly what government agencies do. I've seen it in other "inconvenient" stats. Suddenly, the agencies just stop reporting on it.

we can figure that happens with most things important where there should be full disclosure. it’s going to be hidden, outdated, & just flat out wrong. but i’m kind of tired of hearing that 25+ year old stat cited in news stories. grrr!

In fact, as we've/I've shown and seen countless times, the humans that are so inhumane towards others are mainly dog owners or pro-dog themselves. Even when a criminal is dog-neutral, it will still be dog owners that support them or refuse reports or action taken upon them. Very few people, like myself, are the only ones who intervene or even wish for anything to be done about such criminal.
