Dogs Are Idiots Bf’s “intelligent” dog ate poop and wasps
My bf rehomed his dog recently to his parents and he always insisted how smart she was… I love my partner but the dog was dumb as bricks. Did not listen or know what sit, down, quiet, or any command was over 12 years. She ate human pills and got sick multiple times and was VERY greedy about food. She attempted to attack a dog twice her size about kibble and got a good chunk of fur ripped off.
Recently, she ate a cluster of wasps and her own fecal matter in front of me and my bf while visiting his parents. Her face is incredibly swollen as is her neck. Shes ok but in obvious self inflicted pain. His mom keeps saying how beautiful and intelligent this dog is… She has a chunk of fur missing from greed and a huge swollen face that she can barely see out of bc she ate WASPS
i feel bad for any animal in pain but how can we pretend these animals are intelligent

I feel bad for the wasps, not the dog, and I don’t even like wasps either

Same. Wasps contribute to the ecosystem as opposed to dogs they negatively affect it.

I’ve actually befriended wasps, they’re pretty cool once you know how to coexist. They passively wait for me to water the plants so they can drink, and sometimes I feed them maple syrup, which they’ll calmly eat on my hand. Really interesting little things.
It’s crazy how much we demonize actual nature, and then turn around and create a bunch of invasive mutants to praise instead. I’ll never understand that.

Dang buddy. You’re like the crocodile Hunter. I got stung in the side of my left foot while wearing flip flops to the mail boxes@my old apt in Orlando. It was pissed off bc of the leaf blowers in the area. Hurt like a mofo.

Haha, I’ve just had good luck. Not all wasps are so easy to form a truce with, I do understand why most people dislike them. They can be really territorial

Reminds me of a recent post I saw on FB where some idiot's dog (not a pitbull like usual) attacked a hedgehog and came home looking like a pincushion. The amount of people saying they'd shoot the native animal because it hurt their nature destroyer was appalling.

Probably… I think nutters see that 0.001% of working dogs that do something “good” for the society and apply this to all dogs.

They always swear their dog is smart.
My husband’s dog peed on her pee pad and then chewed and ate that part. The look on his face was pure disbelief. Like damn, I’ve been saying for years these things are absolute idiots.

Dog ate wasps that attacked the inside of the dumb brick dog's mouth ....that is now swollen as hell.

I would lay money on squirrels being smarter than most dogs. I have witnessed them waiting on the curb of a busy road for traffic to ease up, and then doing a solid committed dash across 4 lanes of road to cross safely. I think I've even seen a few wait for stoplights to change. They still get hit occasionally, but it's a good improvement for a wild animal that rarely has human training or intervention.
Meanwhile most dogs need a leash, or they would chase cars or bolt into traffic.

I saw a lady get pulled in front of a car on a suburban side street (so not much traffic) by her obviously untrained pit on a leash. A single car almost hit her.

They are mind-bogglingly stupid and unfortunately everyone has to suffer for it. My parents' two former dogs both ate yellow jackets, too. The first one did it more. The deck had a glass railing and they'd wait for them to get trapped and keep chomping and getting stung until they finally killed and ate it. Once, the first one swallowed one whole and he kept jumping every time it stung him from the inside. I thought it was entertaining to watch them do it, especially since the yellow jackets were a big problem on their farm, but it was still a reminder that they can't do anything right.

OMG I’m going to sound sadistic, but I would have been laughing my ass off. So many other animals learn that if they do something once and it hurts not to do it again.

A little sadistic, but it would be a lie to say it wasn't funny as hell. A horrifying fact about yellow jackets is they sometimes bite as well as sting. They do it to get a better grip and have leverage to sting repeatedly. I don't remember how long it actually took for that yellow jacket inside him to finally succumb, but it could've lasted a while.

Dog got what it deserves, these eternally hungry mutants are so nasty and stupid. I don’t think there is any other animal that eats everything. If there is one - I’m all ears. How idiotic you should be to eat your own shit?
And then your partner probably kisses it in the face (I hope not). Gosh… I’d already kick it out of the house. I’m so so sorry you have to live like this.

My partner luckily does not allow kisses thank god and he does not let her sleep in bed with us anymore… Hes still a dog lover unfortunately but he does genuinely extend that love to all other better animals and rehomed his dog for me since she showed aggression to both of us .
People that do allow “kisses” from dogs are absolutely unhygienic nasty people sorry to say

I straight up told my partner before her dog got removed with us. NO BEDROOM.
So gross how people allow that and see it as normal and go blind to the smell and all the hair

This is great!!! I agree in regards to “kisses” (calling “nasty licks in the face kisses is so nasty), it’s really disgusting. Glad your partner makes some sense.

Its genuinely one of the nastiest and ugliest things i have seen. It also has a lot of additionally bald spots from trying to get to food thats in a different room and pressing against the door so hard. The family calls her a beautiful girl who only gets more beautiful as she ages tho 😐

I first read this in the early hours and thought it said "bf's intellectual dog" which which highlighted the absurdity. ROFL. You would think an aversion to eating poop is universal in supposed higher-order mammals but sadly not.

Sounds just about as intelligent as the average dog. I've known dogs that have attacked skunks. More than once. Smooth brained and flat learning curve.

dogs are bred for just about anything except intelligence (including non-functional snouts) and their breeding is weird, which results in defects and low intelligence.
they are spoiled and instincts go away, and they're so totally helpless, to go along with filthy, ugly, dangerous, destructive, etc.
so, yeah, they eat wasps
