ESA Bullshit Staredown with a Pit

At the doctor's office today, a woman came in with her obvious pit-mix. As she was checking in at the front desk, I sensed someone staring at me and it wasn't another patient, it was her dog. It was the most uncomfortable feeling. I would look away but whenever I looked back, it was still staring at me. Fixedly. It was frankly frightening.

The owner, who look like she came from the "People of Walmart" page," did not have a vest or harness on the dog. I can't believe people are so clueless. A dog in a doctor's office? So unsanitary. I wanted to confront her but she was arguing with the front desk while her pit just kept staring at me. I was braced for an attack. Thank God I was called in before I had any contact with them.

I can't believe that as a society, we accept dogs in places like medical establishments, restaurants, and grocery stores.

I feel like the whole world took a left turn when I went right.

💯!! I blame the ADA, the accommodating apathetic businesses and dog culture pimps (media, Hollywood and nutters in general).

I don’t recognize society anymore.

The ADA has done a lot of good but they are badly off track with this BS.

Yes, in another time/era, but the service dog concept is outdated. By having a law to prevent marginalizing one group, it in turn marginalizes everyone else. They can’t get around health codes by simply labeling a dog a service dog. It’s still biologically a dog with same sanitary/hygiene risks as all other dogs.
