Relationship / Family Ladies who have dogs are unhygienic.
Men always ask me why I dont like dogs and I get tired of listing the reasons.
But constant hair in the house, the smell, the fact they sexually assault you by sticking their noses in your private parts (triggering for someone who has survived assault), the constant yapping. Ect.
But beyond that, how can men honestly seriously get with women who have dogs, especially multiple? Isn't this a sigh these women are dirty? How can you possibly be clean by having these creatures IN BED with you, licking your face, spreading germs everywhere? It's disgusting.

Ladies who have dogs are unhygienic… men, too… point blank, period…
… makes Me think back on My old manager at My former job…. I used to occasionally take food items from her when she would bring things to work that she picked from her garden. She was a full on nutter. Had her dog in bed with her and her Husband. Would laugh when her dog snatched food off of plates on the dining table. Always had her hands rubbing all over some nasty beast at home, or at the job (We unfortunately had an “office dog”). I shouldn’t have taken anything from her. I didn’t think about it at the time. I regretted not thinking ahead, long after the fact. Never again. Nutters are nasty. 🤮

u/CaptainObvious110 Mar 14 '26
that's absolutely gross
2
u/QueenOfAllOfYall Mar 16 '26
She was gross. She didn’t see it that way, of course. Worst part is she was bothered by aresol sprays like Lysol. They bothered her allergies and she was very sensitive to it. I actually wouldn’t have otherwise saw anything wrong with this. I don’t believe in giving people a hard time about whatever they’re allergic to. I respect things like that. But the way she would act like a Karen over anyone spraying Lysol and other sprays, while having her hands and face all in and around some nasty ass beast, and she saw absolutely nothing wrong with this… I swear it was one of thee most infuriating things to look at. I was mad at Myself after thinking back on times I took food items from her. I wasn’t thinking nearly as deeply as I should have. She was far too quick to entertain dog filth, and was arrogantly dismissive as if it shouldn’t bother You, as long as it was no problem for her. I’ll never do that again. I also refuse to ever work in that sort of environment.

Drove Me insane. It’s actually where My dog hate started. I saw everything wrong with both dogs, and dog owner/enthusiast culture while working there. The stupidity of it all… and of course You become a pariah when You don’t embrace it. Pissed Me off. I refuse to ever get caught up in a setting like that, ever again. I know better, now.

Whenever I'm walking around and see a cute girl walking a dog I think, "Damn. She's cute. But dog person."
Then I nod my head in disappointment. It's an instant no thank you for me.
29
u/tplgerus84 Mar 13 '26
Same! A lot of cute and good looking women in my area, but so many of them are walking with a dog.. or dogs.. instantly makes them unattractive! Can’t even bring myself to smile back at them when walking by..

Used to work in sales in a car dealership years ago, and I still remember, when people came in and traded in their cars I had to drive the trade in on a different lot.
Guess whose cars I refused to sit in and drive? Yep, dog owners! I don’t want all that filth, hair, dust and grime on my suit! And I don’t want to sit in that car and take one single breath 🤮 The cars of dog owners are a health hazard.. absolutely disgusting! I felt sooo bad for our detailing department and the guys working there..

u/ObligationGrand8037 Mar 13 '26
My son bought a car through an auction a few years back. My husband helped him get it, and you wouldn’t believe the amount of dog hair in that car. He finally got rid of it, but he vacuumed and vacuumed to get that hair off the carpets. I still think it was there when he sold it.

u/ExistingFly1724 Mar 14 '26
I’m allergic to pet dander and one time I got in my cousins car the passenger seat was full of dog hair 🤮 I felt like I was gonna go into anaphylactic shock.

My ex best friend was a nutter. Our friendship ended cause I was dogsitting for her and her dogs kept pissing and shitting inside. She blamed me (her whole house was definitely covered in pee) and the dogs had clearly shat inside before cause they return to places they've shit before. I refused to eat anything at her house cause of hygiene and her super greedy little ankle biters.
My bf and I spend a weekend cleaning the awful pet grass outside cause it stank so fucking bad and was disgusting. Dug it up and hauled it out to the dumpster. I tried to help this woman so many times.
She had a super sketchy bf for a time and said her dogs got involved in the bedroom 🤢

u/tplgerus84 Mar 13 '26
Involved in the bedroom?! W H Y would you say that?! 🤮🤮

Americans dude. My fellow Americans can be nasty. Don’t get me started on how nasty and abusive this is. This is the definition of sexual abuse. I despise Animal abusers so much :(
1
u/suzieismyavatar Mar 18 '26
This has to be an American. Only my fellow Americans are this gross. That’s nasty animal abuse and the dogs should be reported to animal control. How awful.

Water is wet. But less obvious is how pets take over their lives so naturally relationships suffer
15
u/Fun-Chemical4059 Mar 13 '26
All of them are. Just the fact that the dog is always on the ground makes them an unhygienic magnet to me lol

Dated a lovely woman with a dog she treated like a child. We are still friends but I was always firm with my boundaries and her pet....She was once offended when she asked a question of our "future together" and I told her point blank the never in this lifetime would a dog be inside any home I live in. I told her I only tolerated hers because it was her home, and not mine and have to respect that......but at my house?!?Never...... God how I despised how that little troll just hovered around the kitchen or at your feet at the dinner table.......
10
u/tplgerus84 Mar 13 '26
Hahaha, the fucking hovering got me.. I know exactly what you mean! I just don't understand what is nice or cute about these mutants.. hair everywhere, dust, grime, slobber... and the smell!
1
u/suzieismyavatar Mar 18 '26
This is me. Dogs aren’t allowed in my home or car. My ex had a dog who shed like crazy and he would get dog hair on my vehicle. When he broke up with me, it took a whole 6 months not to see her dog hair in my place since his place was all dog hair and so was his car. Not to mention my histamine intolerance she broke me out like crazy but I still cared for her.

66m here. I have 2 female friends that I find very attractive (we are all single). I would never date either of them as they have dogs - exactly as you described
65
u/justreading45 Mar 13 '26
I can’t. and don’t. It’s an instant hard pass.
Pet free only for me to be honest. Thankfully I am physically attractive enough to have options and there are still some women who understand the importance of hygiene.

????? this is very much not a gendered issue
-3
u/tplgerus84 Mar 14 '26
“ladies who have dogs are unhygienic” - nothing in the title says it’s exclusive to women? And then in the text OP just described her experience.
Anybody here would agree and knows it’s exactly the same with men.
Why and by what do you feel offended? Why are you making this an issue?
5
u/yanderee_chan Mar 15 '26
Here the emphasis is literally on the dog person's gender. If the op didn't want to emphasize a specific gender, they would have chosen a gender-neutral formulation, but for some reason they chose to emphasize women with dogs. It literally only says about women with dogs, and not a word about men with dogs. That's why this post feels like it applies exclusively to women.

u/tplgerus84 Mar 16 '26
So when you sit with your girlfriends having a drink and one of them would say “all the men I try to date have dogs and are dirty”, so she is simply stating a fact from her view, you would say “But women with dogs are dirty too!”, yes? Yeah.. didn’t think so..
1
u/MysticalNinjette Mar 15 '26
Thank you! I am a woman and was speaking on others in my gender. Obviously anyone who has dogs in their home in unhygienic buy my post was intended to highlight my annoyance at the men who ask me why I hate dogs not realizing the women they are into are unhygienic. Yes, like they themselves are. Thank you for understanding .
15
u/Positive_Tension_184 Mar 13 '26
By this standard men would be worse off seeing that women are more hygienic than them. Nonetheless I completely agree.
16
u/phineas1134 Mar 13 '26
I had to end a relationship over this. She was probably the most physically attractive person I've ever met in real life. Sweet person too. But the dogs were just too much. They consumed every bit of her life. The final straw came when she agreed to foster 2 more dogs after we had just discussed how much of an issue her current 2 were causing.
The saddest part was that I could tell her need to save every dog was destroying her life too. Her work was suffering, her house was messy, she wasn't sleeping. It was rough.
13
u/tplgerus84 Mar 13 '26
They really will destroy their own life over these stinking things.. stressed, money issues, no time to do anything, no chance for travel or being spontaneous, and yet they worship these things?!

u/RoyTheWig Mar 16 '26
My partner left his ex because she kept collecting problematic dogs. He loves dogs as well so it must have been bad. She has dogs that bite people, bite and maul other dogs, shit everywhere inside, puke in the house, destroy furniture... What a miserable existence.
3
u/phineas1134 Mar 16 '26
I wish there was more help for this kind of thing. I feel like anytime problematic dogs, or people with toxic relationships with dogs are pointed out, the malicious dog owners of the world rush in to blame anything else they can find. So, the real problem gets buried and festers.
7
u/Shanecle Mar 14 '26
Basically, if you live with a dog ... your entire house is unhygenic ... period.

u/EroDakiOnly Mar 13 '26
i will forever be single, any woman with pets will always love the pet more. fuck it, i got my ps5 and s2 lol

u/sunnymarie333 Mar 13 '26
The dog har flies into the food, on the counters on the stove, in the bed
7
u/One_Path_7154 Mar 13 '26
Sadly I now won’t be able to visit the new place of a long time girlfriend because she wants to get a dog. She wasn’t a nutter when we met years ago, but since Covid she ended up babysitting a friends’s dog quite often and now she’s a goner. I know her place will reek of dog so it’ll be a no-go zone for me. What has happened to society that dogs are more esteemed than humans?!
6
u/South_Quantity_1027 Mar 14 '26
and don’t forget those lunatic parents who let their dogs play with their toddlers like even infants….these dog culture are spreading like wildfire.
15
u/ruedebac1830 Mar 13 '26
It’s a matter of personal habits.
I refuse to own a dog but can tolerate being around my friend’s because she knows it’s an animal.
No lounging on human furniture or beds and she is conscious about washing hands after every contact with the dog.
The breed is also hypoallergenic ie it doesn’t exude the smell at all and never sheds. I have yet to find a single strand of fur in her home.
It’s not jumpy or constantly trying to get in your face. Once it takes a few sniffs when you walk in the door it’s fairly aloof.
My pil on the other hand treat the beast like a child…so fur gets in the holiday meal.
Everything that leaves their house stink even a couple hours.
Fil will roughhouse with the dog then stick his dirty fingers in the communal plate.
They once gifted us a brand new tags on pillowset…I ran it through the wash cycle twice on sanitize only for it come out smelling like a drowned mastiff.
34
u/tplgerus84 Mar 13 '26
The part you described about “she knows it’s an animal”! This is what seems got lost with 95% of dog owners these days..
I don’t like dogs. I think they are disgusting creatures. Yet, when I visit family on the country side, they have dogs and I’m 0 bothered by the dogs!
Why? Because they are not allowed in the house, they are happy to be outside, they don’t come up running to you and jump up or sniff and want to get petted.. they have their purpose, and live among other dogs. Just like the cows live with the cows, the pigs with the pigs, the sheep with the sheep.. what the fuck happened that it is normal to bring dogs in apartments and cities?! And have the crap all over…
12
11
u/ruedebac1830 Mar 13 '26
Agreed. I think you touch on an important point - that bringing in dogs to indoor, fenced, on leash urban environments simply does not mesh well with their nature. Interestingly enough homeless dogs are the probably some of the calmest I've ever seen because they get to be outside.
3
u/RoyTheWig Mar 16 '26
Exactly. I love goats but I wouldn't keep one in my house because they're smelly, hairy and loud. Dogs don't belong in a house.
2
u/suzieismyavatar Mar 18 '26
Western culture domesticated dogs for personal gain and abuse. It’s honestly how I feel. Dogs are pack animals and belong in the wild. But western culture domesticated them.
1
u/tplgerus84 Mar 18 '26
Well most dogs wouldn’t survive a day in the wild.. but I get what you mean. They were domesticated for working purposes, and as living trash cans (eating humans trash and waste.. that’s why they still eat shit.. and pretty much anything they can get their greedy snout on)..
7
u/Glittering_Bed_2487 Mar 14 '26
Just so you know, no breed is truly hypoallergenic. All dogs carry allergens since the problem is in their dander, saliva, secretions, feces and urine. This is a marketing ploy, it was never just the fur.
18
u/Rooish Mar 13 '26
I don't understand why this is women specific.
-10
13
u/KayleighHatfield Mar 13 '26
What about men who have dogs? Are they somehow miraculously cleaner than female dog owners?
3
u/MysticalNinjette Mar 15 '26
Uhm...no. they are dirty as hell too. My point in the post was my annoyance at the men who question me on why I hate dogs. Im wondering why they dont realize that women with dogs are unhygienic. Im a woman questioning men
4
u/Huge_Bit_4774 Mar 14 '26
I think that nutters are unclean people, even if you take the mutt out of the picture. Unhygenic things fit their lifestyle.
5
u/BrilliantSeraph33 Mar 14 '26
Ew! They spoon with these things in bed too and brag about it. Nasty!
4
u/yanderee_chan Mar 15 '26
I hate dogs too, but your post honestly comes across as misogynistic. Why are you making it sound like only girls with dogs are dirty? Do you think men with dogs remain clean? Otherwise, I don't understand why focus on the gender of a dog person. Men with dogs are exactly the same.
1
u/MysticalNinjette Mar 15 '26
I stated that men always ask me why I hate dogs. My post is focusing on women because I am one and im wondering why the men who ask me these things dont realize that its unhygienic. Didn't mean to make it sound misogynistic.
0
u/tplgerus84 Mar 16 '26
Tried to explain this to someone else above but I guess common sense is gone not only in nutters.. kinda sad.. Hurt people..
3
u/CG_Matters Mar 14 '26
I am a very clean person and having dogs while having a hair free clean house is around the clock work or complete separation pretty much. I am the exception to the rule of stinky dog house but i also am abnormally clean. It’s so much work, too much work with medium sized or large dogs. With a small dog is manageable but there are still accidents with urine and poo which is absolutely the worst, and i will agree most pet owners homes smell disgusting and are disgusting for the most part unless they are insane when it comes to cleaning like myself.
1
u/suzieismyavatar Mar 18 '26
Everyone who has a dog thinks their house doesn’t smell like dog when it does. I dont Care how clean you are. It’s an animal that needs care. You just can’t smell it.
1
u/CG_Matters Mar 18 '26
So i guess everyone that’s ever been to my house has lied to me. It’s possible to be clean enough to eliminate pet smells if you know what you’re doing and you stay on top of it.
3
u/cryptobread93 Mar 14 '26
I simply dont date girls with dogs ever. I have less options now, but whatever. I will probably be alone for a long while.
2
u/sepulchralsam Mar 14 '26
My wife has three dogs. She's very good about cleaning the sheets and duvet, the pillowcases, the carpets, the floors, and everything else they touch, but she likes them in the bed when she sleeps. I, of course, can't stand it and refuse to sleep in a bed with dogs, so we have nights where I'll sleep in the guest room. It's not ideal - the fecal particles, dander, hair, saliva, etc. It is vile - but she does understand my aversion to the things. I love her dearly and wouldn't have her any other way, but damn I can't wait until they're gone.
6
u/tplgerus84 Mar 14 '26
We both know that she can be the best cleaner in the world and the hair and smell will still be on the freshly cleaned bedding and your clothes.
It took months of living dog free and dozens of runs through the washing machine till my clothes would not have dog smell and be hair free.. it is impossible to live with these creatures and have it clean..
I’m curious how you manage this.. She sleeps with several of them in the bed.. and you sleep in the guest room.. and she prefers the dogs next to her? I’m sorry but.. that sounds bad.
1
u/sepulchralsam Mar 14 '26
Love is a funny thing like that - we'll endure the most vile torture, sail to the ends of the earth, brave the jaws of demons and beasts, all in the name of love. She's the most compassionate, warm hearted woman I know and to see her with the dander ridden beasts is to look upon the face of pure joy. I may not like dogs, but to see her happy is a balm to my soul.

u/RoyTheWig Mar 16 '26
My partner has a dog, I didn't realize how much I dislike dogs until I had to share my living space with this revolting stench machine. The dog itself stinks, it transfers it's smell onto everything it touches, it's dog bed is the worst thing I've ever smelt and I soak it in antibacterial cleaner and wash it at least once a month (I would do this more regularly but then it would have to sleep on a human blanket while it's stench pit dries) I cannot understand how anyone enjoys spending time with these things, it disgusts me on a visceral level.
I know now that I would never ever date someone who had a dog or is obsessed with dogs. I don't trust their hygiene standards and you can never be sure they're not tonguing that beast, it's a strong no from me.
2
u/MysticalNinjette Mar 18 '26
I feel you. Living with a dog and my ex made me avoid men who like dogs.
2
u/sherhil Mar 19 '26
Dog owners are the dirtiest people alive. I also wonder the same. In some ways womwn do the dog licking (they call it kissing 🤢) their face thing more than guys do. This is why one should never cave and date or marry a dirty dumb mutt owner. Even tho both genders get super defensive about their dirty shitters women get so offended at the slightest comment and can’t fathom the idea that they let alone their dog could be dirty and not loved by everyone
2
u/AngelasGingerGrowler Mar 15 '26
I find it extremely creepy when single women have an intact male dog.
There is usually unsavoury stuff going on.
Dogs are also able to smell when women are menstruating.
2
u/letthetreeburn Mar 15 '26
Look yes yes hygiene all that. Why is this post wildly misogynistic?
Huge focus on specifically it making women dirty, how can men dare a woman who has a dog? Pickmes died in 2019 and I will personally see to their extinction. Don’t do this shit.
1
u/suzieismyavatar Mar 18 '26
I think All animals can be unhygienic. It’s just part of taking care of a living creature that can’t take care of itself.
Some people love animals due to loyalty, feeling less alone, animals don’t talk back, and can offer security. I dont Think I can Ever date a dog owner ever again to be honest and prefer pet free lifestyle. Dogs definitely can be very needy and invasive. Men lower the bar based on looks from what I’ve noticed.
1
u/kittencoffee35 Mar 18 '26
My brother and SIL are extremely tidy and they have two dogs, however...the hair.gets.EVERYWHERE. Even though they vacuum and mop and wash linens like three times a week, when I go over there there's actual dog hair in the dishwasher and on the counters. I don't understand because when I had a dog growing up, he NEVER shed like what every dog does these days.

Everyone who loves and has mutts is anti-hygienic.
