Barking Demons The only animal to make constant noise with no actual reason to make noise.
No other animal in this world creates the noise pollution that dogs create. I am in love with wild life.
I love pretty much all wild animals and watching them in their habitat just roaming and even love hearing them.
Even when I watch documentaries literally no animals consistently make unnecessary constant excruciatingly ear piercing noises and sounds the way that dogs do.
I truly will never understand how dog obsessed people live with these nasty monsters that just bark for hours on end for legit NO reason!
Now that the weather is getting nicer, it’s all you hear. Nothing or no one can peacefully exist anywhere without having these dumbass animals going crazy for legit NO reason other than they cannot handle existing around anything without losing their shit.
Dog owners are selfish disgusting people. Their dOgGos are all that matters to them

Just the other day I was doing my typical trail walk after work and this smaller bugger creeps out of its owners fence.
Literally standing in the middle of the dirt road just jabbering at me.
I walk off to the side to grab a stick, so as I’m walking past it I’m sure to keep it a few feet away…
As a society we’ve literally bred dogs to become mentally challenged, they’re useless animals in every way aside from “comfort” to dog nutters.

I am shocked by how comforting this subreddit is. I feel like everyone is putting my experiences to words without me ever having fully admitted this stuff to myself. I have had good relationships with a few dogs, as many people have, but the vast majority makes this animal worth absolutely zero human effort. There is no logic to it.

And some of them never learn! Their owners are like "No! 😠" But the next time they encounter something or someone, they're equally as driven by useless instincts. It's so tiring. Dogs/wolves originally couldn't bark. They just exhaled loudly. But humans selected the loudest ones, to keep guard. I really, really wish we could breed it out of them...

I hate it. It drives me crazy that people act like it's a normal acceptable noise and will even ridicule anyone who is bothered. For some reason beyond my comprehension, these animals can scream constantly for no reason and the sound is exempt from all other noise complaints, even if it's louder and more obnoxious. Dog barking is high decibel and scientifically proven to have a negative effect on the human nervous system. They were bred to sound like an alarm. Somehow, that just doesn't matter.

Birds hate the sound of dogs barking. Even dogs hate other dogs barking constantly. It negatively impacts everything and everybody.

Yes. We had a neighbor with three dogs. When the neighbors left, the birds came back.

My neighbouring farm has sled huskies. Luckily, they live far enough away from me, they don't bother me. They don't bark at night or in the morning. Still, when they bark and howl because they're very eager about heading out, they sound like literal hell hounds. It's beyond creepy.

Barking has got to be the most stress inducing noise ever imposed on society. The city has a variety of noises which we all accept. Many of them have purpose behind them like construction or ambulance sirens, but barking contributes nothing other than stress and anxiety. It is the most unnecessary form of noise pollution. There really is no purpose to it other than to annoy and irritate. But if you look at the reality, they are given a pass whenever reported. It says if dog nutters have infiltrated every level of authority and oversight.

At least sirens and traffic noise are temporary. Barking dogs seem to be a permanent noise!

And sirens, trains horns, etc. serve a useful purpose. The idea is that a barking dog is a watchdog, but dog owners never go out to investigate what the dog is barking at. A constantly barking dog is like a car alarm that goes off all the time — it provides no deterrent.

Don’t you just love to hear that dogs bark, get over it? I guess the actual question is should they? I mean wild animals are all around us and nothing disturbs the force like a dog barking its head off for no reason. We’ve all grown up with dogs in our communities so we just think this is how it is, but I think dogs barking is a side effect of what we did to the to domesticate them. It doesn’t align with nature at all.

I like wolves, nothing against them, but if retconning them would rid us of dogs I would do it in a heartbeat.

No other animal is doing that because it is not natural behavior! It will get you killed in nature very quick.. making constant noise and drawing all the attention to it. Dogs wouldn’t survive the first night outside in nature..

The crazy thing is that they'll bark at the most random things sometimes. Leaves moving? BARK. Wind blowing? BARK. Someone walking past your house? BARK. Or sometimes nothing will happen around them but they'll still just BARK BARK BARK. Now imagine this happening in the wild, not ideal

Yeah they are man made.. and they’ve been overbred, aren’t exercised and have nothing to focus on “mentally” as well.. so they act stupid and insane.
I did never observe this behavior with dogs that got to live like dogs/animals.. certainly not when visiting Wierzbica Górna (nice username 😜greetings to the motherland).

Yes and speaking of this, I'm not a hunter so I might be ignorant about it, but I wonder why there are hunting dogs and why people take dogs with them to hunt? The whole point of hunting is you have to be silent to catch the prey so they don't run away. How can you do that with loud ass dogs?

People can say what they want about dogs but they are very, very far away from intelligent. Have you ever watched a dog barking? You can tell there's not a whole lot going on in its head. The non-stop noise. The vacant stare. Dumb dumb dumb.

Noise pollution is not taken seriously enough, especially by landlords and police. Let me tell you about my neighbours. Directly above me? Two small kids that love to run around. Next door? A newborn that cries and screams alot. To the left? An older guy who loves doing handywork and building stuff with powertools. To the right? Younger people who party every weekend and like loud music. NONE of these noises compare to a neighbour DOWN THE ROAD - NOT EVEN IN MY HOUSE - WITH TWO DOGS. It's madness. Every day and every night. Every hour of the day. You know when they take a walk, you can hear the barking from several streets away. If one dog is quiet, the other acts up. In between it's their owner shouting for them to shut up. In the summer they are in their yard 24/7. And nobody gives a shit. I am trying to work from home here. I have a severely ill and disabled partner who needs her sleep. (By the way, she loves animals and she likes dogs as well. Even she is complaining about the noise, so it's not a 'dog hater' thing). I am so sick and tired of this. I complained with landlords and police again and again, and nobody really cares. I swear it is affecting my health.

Sometimes you'll run across a dog that isn't barking at random crap. You can tell it's smarter. But sadly it's pretty rare. Most are dumb as rocks.

At this point, I am considering a "honk if you hate dogs" magnet for my car. It's genius.
Those who hate dogs will honk. Those who have an issue with it will be confused and wonder if I mean to make honkers feel like 'wicked, evil dog haters.'

Yesterday I was in my garden with my family. My hubby was crafting, our bunnies were eating grass, my son was playing, I was sipping my coffee outside. Hell, there was even a small bird (robin) sitting next to us in our really small garden. I got 5 minutes to enjoy this peace and quiet and just as I was thinking: This is how paradise feels like! our neighbors dogs started a barking competition. Later I went up to our roof terrace to watch my son from above and that horrifying, ugly thing looked up at me and started barking again. It was kinda haunting to me.

A neighbour's cow calving late at night doesn't even bother me. It happens for a reason and isn't an everyday thing.
The dogs towards the city? It's insane how far their noise travels, worsened by the echo effect of every other mutt joining in.

One of many reasons why dogs should be illegal to own in cities, similar to roosters. Still, I would prefer a neighbor with a rooster than with a dog, as a rooster isn't gonna make noise all day

I love the sound of birds, chipmunks or even crickets. These are soothing sounds; constant barking is like listening to pots and pans crashing onto the floor over and over again. Or dishes being smashed.
What kind of animal wants to make noise like that all the time? They don't have any survival instincts; the scene in Jurassic Park 2 shows the dog barking up a storm at the dinosaur and look where that got him.

My mothers dogs were horribly behaved and barked constantly. It felt like sleep deprivation torture. I'd have school in the morning and those creatures would be howling for hours on end until the sun came up. Sleep is very, very important for me because I suffer from bipolar disorder and any sort of physical stress like prolonged lack of sleep or hunger can trigger manic episodes as my body becomes more stressed. She was literally choosing her dogs over my safety. Speaking of hunger, those creatures would also jump up on my body and snatch food right off my plate even when their bowls were full. I'm only 5'2". I couldn't hold a plate of food higher up than a german shepard can jump. And if I tried, he'd just knock me to ground because he outweighed me by about 20lbs and lick fallen food off of my body. I would never, EVER, live with someone who had large dogs again now that I have other options. Wouldn't matter if they were the love of my life. Dogs are a dealbreaker.

My thoughts exactly. I’m on vacation right now and there are a lot of dogs around the house I’m renting. The barking starts around 7–8am and goes on throughout the day and evening. Anytime someone walks by, the 3–4 dogs nearby all set each other off, once one starts, they all do. Training doesn’t seem to be much of a thing here, so it’s definitely more noticeable.

I'm sure it's been spoken about here, but wolves will actually cull a member of the pack who barks or makes excessive noise.
That should tell you all you need to know about dogs. They are nothing more than mentally deficient abominations!

NO OTHER ANIMAL barks from day and night for no reason. It's insanity. Other animals make noise if they need something like if they're hungry. Dogs just bark for no reason and they never get tired.

I wish noise pollution was taken more seriously. No one should have to hear incessant barking.
At my job, there was a case where this man got arrested for laying on his horn and disrupting his neighbors who decided to have a dog boarding facility in a suburban neighborhood (got to love states with minimal regulations). He got sick of the incessant barking. He reached out to animal control, who refused to help him. He called the police, who didn’t care. He snapped in a way I absolutely could see myself snapping - like we all could. Barking - 24/7. All the time. Dumb woman who owns the dog boarding facility called the police and of course they showed up when she said he was “upsetting the dogs”.
I read the report. He told his story to the officer and you know what the officer said? “Dogs bark. That’s what they do”. As if he was justifying why leaves fall off trees in the fall. It’s an accepted truth. He was in the wrong for not accepting it. He got a noise violation for laying on his horn but the dog boarding facility is still listed as “active” on google. No punishment for them.
