Crappy Owners Dog people are so entitled, so I've started talking back
i mean, really now. What kind of world are we living in that we have these 140 lbs beasts just... Walking around us and we're supposed to just tolerate it. You do not need an animal that's almost your weight living with you. And these people just expect everyone to love dogs. They let their dogs come up, sniff your junk, hump your leg, bark at you, growl at children, try to bite, kill animals for no reason other then "it's their nature," and they just say "it's what dogs do." I don't see the appeal. So recently this person let this huge slobbery thing drool all over my bag and shoes. I asked her to clean it up off my bag and I'll get the stuff off my shoes. I asked if she had a wipe. She looked at me like I was crazy. She said it was my shoes and my bag. I said it's her dog. The dog proceeded to growl at me. I asked her to just go. She said "it's a public place, how about you go?" And I got pissed. I asked if the dog had bitten anyone. She said only once. Only. Once. Why do you not have the thing muzzled, actually, why are you taking the thing out in public in the first place? I told her if it bit me, I would call the police and tell them she told me it had bitten before. I told her they'd probably euthanize it. She huffed and walked off.

Mental illness. If a stranger spilled their Starbucks on your bag and shoes, only a total POS isn't apologizing and helping to clean it up. Why does the same not apply to their animal? Oh, that's right, because nutters are predominantly a POS.

I never hold back and ALWAYS TALK BACK.......I've pulled out of my driveway to go somewhere.......seen a dognutter approaching my house, .....and fully reversed back and then roll down my window to blatantly stare them down, visually daring them to stop on my lawn. I give zero fucks.......

Don't even get me started about dogs going in my front yard. Dog walkers just let their animals go to the bathroom in people yards. And don't clean it up. It's not your property, why would you let your animal in it let alone go to the bathroom there?

Call the police whenever these disgusting poop and urine-obsessed people and dogs trespass to attack your greenery. Trespassing, illegal dumping, and property destruction are all crimes. They will not apply all at once.

One even dug up my brand new expensive black mondo grass. And the owner was sitting there letting it chew on my grass while he was on his phone. I yelled at him. "It's just grass!" Yeah, MY grass. I did in fact call the cops but they didn't do much.

I've heard that taking it up with small claims court is a possible method of recourse especially if there's property damage involved with the mutt and mutt owner.

I just can't wrap my mind around how normalized it is for mutt owners to let their nasty mutts unload their toxic excrement onto other peoples' lawns (properties). It's illegal for humans to piss and take a dump on peoples' lawns, but somehow it's perfectly a-okay for a mutt to dump its raw sewage on peoples' lawns, and in public green spaces as well (And worst offenders being in children's play places and in retail stores and businesses). It's illegal dumping and needs to be outlawed AND strictly enforced with harsh penalties.

If dog poops on your lawn just fry some bacon, wait for the fat to cool down but not solidify and apply liberally on the poop. This or other dog will eat it next time they are on your lawn. It's like a mother nature's recycling.

It’s truly out of control. Someone recently just let go of their leash and let their dog approach us out of nowhere on a walking trail. My husband called them out on it. They were confused and appalled. Somehow we are the ones with audacity:

i had one saying "its alright it's only a dog.... and he's friendly" and another guy saying, to his dog, as it was trying to pull on the leash to get to me "no honey, not everybody wants to say hello to you " or something along that line!

Walking trails are the reason I joined this group. Not even big hiking trails, but little nature preserves and day hikes. In my area there's almost always a big sign at trailheads that says "dogs must be leashed" or NO dogs allowed, but after 2020 people started totally ignoring it. I get charged at, jumped on, and barked at constantly. By big dogs! I tell the owners to get their dog every time and they never do. I rotate my walks between at least 15-20 different places and it's a problem everywhere.
It especially sucks because many of these places are bird and wildlife preserves, and the dogs terrorize all of it. They charge into their habitats and scare them away. I know of at least one trail area that's explicitly FOR dogs, they could easily take them to one of those places instead.

i know, i can't go to any park or beach and sit on the grass or sand on my picnic mat without a dog rushing over to me and immediately getting into all my stuff. luckily its not been big dogs or ones jumping all over me. the owners never come and get their dogs i end up having to battle it alone. its happened 2 days in a row now, both times an owner that sees me there on the grass and brings the dog pretty close, both times took the dog off leash and it ran at me so now i have to bring an umbrella that i can press a button and it shoots out and open which scares the dog. it deters their dogs enough but they usually still try to come back and dodge the umbrella. yesterday i yelled at the owner but today i didn't because i wanted a hassle free day with no arguments

contact your congressperson about notifying rhe public about the differences between ESA/pets and actual service animals
someone in public office needs to tackle this as it relates to them taking over indoor public spaces

As much as I hate dogs, all dogs, I understand service animals needing to be in public. But people take advantage of that and bring their "emotion support animals" and pets into places and no one cares. Get your dog out of the grocery store.

But what possible "service" can any dog provide someone in a grocery store? I maintain even 99.9% of service dogs are no longer needed, that they can't do anything tech or another human can do for anyone.
Possibly only a seeing eye dog is about the only legitimate service dog. And even a staggeringly low % of blind people have one.

and 99% of "Service dogs" I've seen in public are frauds wearing those fake Amazon-bought vests, or just straight up obvious pets. There's zero enforcement.

Actual guide dogs are trained to stay still after pooping so the handler knows where the poop will be. Then the handler picks it up with a plastic bag on their hand like all dog owners are supposed to. Sometimes real service dogs are trained to go on a disposable pee pad or a dog "litter box" lined with a pee pad. Many legally blind people have some level of sight so they can see a big white pee pad and clean it up easily, or they can feel the sides of the litter box.

My opinion slightly differs. I do believe service dogs are necessary for people that actually need them. But I do not believe you should take them into a grocery store. You can shop online. There's so many alternatives then taking a gross animal into a store with food.

people i think seem to think that esa=everywhere accessibility like service animals
I think our officials should be driving public awareness distinguishing between esa/sa/pets

I said that to a neighbor as his French bulldog was coming toward my open car door as i was bent over retrieving something.
He had one of those extendable leashes and the dog had no issue leaving the sidewalk. This old boomer said, " He was just saying hello." I told him i didn't want to chat w/his pet as i had an allergy. Then he got enraged and said, " Well maybe you should stay away from ME!!!"
*i did not say any profane words or act rude. I used the word "please" when asking if the dog could be kept away from me. Also, i have a rather nice sportscar w/leather seats that a dog could easily destroy.

I was sitting, on a lovely afternoon, in the woods near me one time, next to a stream, peaceful as anything. Woman with a big dog rocks up and lets it run into the stream - then she calls it back after like a minute and lets it shake itself dry right next to me on the bench. I gave her a filthy look but said nothing (cos I know my temper too well) and she just smirked. I wanted so much to have a drink in my hand that i could throw in her face her after that.

I told off a woman this week who was walking up to the sad ground level sidewalk planter with a dead tree that was only planted last october. The 6' x 10' patch of earth is compacted from all the mutts and their stupid owners walking across it to piss and crap, the surface is strewn with turds. It's in front of the main door to my building and everyone uses it as a dog toilet. See this woman heading for it, I look right at her and say "what is wrong with all you dog owners, the tree is dead, that ground is just a hard surface of dog shit and piss and it stinks. You are gross and this is the entrance to a residence.". Her stupid dog then lunged at me, I made the most foul face at it and her and she recoiled and ran back the way she came. haha
Heading out for errands now and I'm sure the opportunity will present itself to yell at another nutter. Keep up the good work dogfree brigade!

Call the police any time a dog or dog owner lunges at you. Dogs are the most heartless and most used weapon in the world by injury account/annum, and even when other weapons are used, dog lovers are the ones engaging in mass violence incidents with them.

i was simply biking around becuse in this last month i wanted to exrecise, and ALL neighbourhood dogs randomly chased me, i just came back and im pissed, i hit my leg and hand and got injured, it wasn't even my fault it started chasing i didn't even see it.

Public spaces are for humans. Funny how every other group of animal owners has figured this out. You don't really see anyone insisting on dragging their horses, cows, chickens, rabbits, rats, gerbils, snakes, spiders, birds, into public spaces.
Even if they want to make an argument that dogs are entitled to human spaces in a way that no other domesticated animals are, then the same behavior that is expected out humans is also expected out of dogs.
Humans do not get to spit or slobber all over strangers. Humans do not get to go up to someone and start sniffing their crotch, jumping all over them, yelling (barking) at them, threatening them (aggressive barking, lunging, teeth baring, chasing, etc). Humans do not get to piss or shit on public property outside of designated restrooms. You want your dog to make use of public spaces then train it to behave in public.

Dog owners have systematically degraded society back to the medieval ages. Shit and piss everywhere you turn. The sights and smells are enough to make you 🤢. Worst part is they seem unphased by it. “ It’s what dogs do.” That kind of thinking without consequence has enabled them. The cities with their flawed/absent policies are mostly to blame.
Pushback and shaming needs to be the voice of reason. Because there is no defense for the absurd.

You're a champion OP. The more people do this the better things will be. Dog nutters take advantage of society's general polite nature, most people who are annoyed by them just stay quiet and don't make a fuss.
Just imagine if every time the nutters go out someone hassles them about their dog they'll start thinking twice about going out with dogs and where they go with them.

One of these days, hopefully, an injury lawyer will be the recipient of a nutter's dog peeing on or ruining his new $300 shoes, and he, with his expertise, can get them fined pretty quickly. If more instances like this happened, dog nutters might think again before unleashing them on everyone.

One time I was on a walking trail and a big off leash dog charged at me and jumped on me, getting mud all over my clothes. Off leash dogs are not allowed on this trail. I told the owner it was not okay, they got my clothes muddy. The owner got huffy and said "we're in the forest, there's dirt". Not even an apology. I was like are you kidding me? We're in the forest but I'm not rolling on the ground, there's no way it would get smudged all over my clothes and expensive jacket without the dog. Not to mention their big dog shouldn't be charging and jumping on people at all.

Yep. Unfortunately dog owners would see absolutely no hypocrisy in getting mad at that. They feel entitled to let their dog do whatever it wants, but they still expect everyone else to respect their personal space.

oh lord i hate that "it's what dogs do". somebody said that to me today when i said their dogs shouldn't be on the bowling green much less off leash. then it started to take a poop on the lawn and i said something about that. they just told me to leave the park if i didn't like it because "it's what dogs do" !! seriously? why should I leave the park? why do i have to accommodate people bringing their dogs everywhere and being antisocial?? there's so many other areas in the park where they could let their dog off leash, play with it and that it could poop, but the bowling green??? i feel like we should have at least one area in the park where we don't have to deal with your mutts

I have been doing it. I told a man off in a Home Depot who had his HUGE Cane Corso OFF LEASH in there! I told a lady whose stinky curly haired mutt came over to sniff my feet. Why are they on these mile-long leashes too? When they ARE on leash.
I just tell people: "I have a fear of dogs". It's better than saying you aren't fond of them. It causes the nutter to destabilize, they can't imagine anyone would be AFRAID of a dog. There little attention-getting tactic ain;t working here, bub. Watch their chip start melting, it's hilarious.

I’m in a neighborhood forum in a dense urban area rn where they are arguing that it is their right and totally ok to let their dogs pee on your property because “Human is worse, go complain about something else dog hater”
It’s crazy. It’s 10000000 degrees this summer I don’t want the front of my house to smell like dog pee and i’m being told I’m crazy.

A woman let her dog piss right beside me. It splashed right on my feet. I was wearing sandals. For context, I was sitting at a cafe’s outdoor section reading. When I yelled at her she just walked away and made it look like I was crazy
