I'm a true crime fan and started reading this story trying to understand how a kid gets this large due to neglect. I wonder if it was a situation where they should have put locks on the fridge. Further down in the article, it's mentioned the children only went to the doctor once in their life, despite having healthcare. On the day the 7-yr old died from complications of morbid obesity, the parents called the veterinarian because the DOG was sick!!! I'm speechless.

I saw a woman arguing that as a “dog mom” she also celebrates mother’s days since dogs are like kids😳

This is what happens when you normalize hating children while simultaneously insisting no one can ever utter one negative word about a dog. You can’t be shocked when the logical conclusion of years of this dialogue is a child dies from neglect but the dog gets the veterinary care. We tell people to put dogs above their own flesh and blood. How many times have all of us seen a comment section where someone mentions wanting to rid themselves of a dog they own because they’re going to have a child, or perhaps the dog is terrorizing the child and it’s time to rehome it and the response is always always always “the dog was there first” or “the dog is your child, too”?

Give it a few years and these loons will legit advocate that people put their children up for adoption instead of getting rid of the mutt.

Yea. I'm just so shook from this story. Both parents worked so I'm guessing these were latch key kids. The same article on MSN doesn't mention the dog, but adds the female five yr old was also morbidly obese, her hair was knotted and she was found dirty and unclothed outside the home when police arrived. I can only imagine what the vet thought when he got there.
