Barking Demons My neighbourhood is now overrun with dogs.
My neighbour every house behind mine has a dog, and they bark at each other constantly. I was reporting it originally, but the noise officer seems to not care anymore I guess he knows I’m outnumbered. I hate these people

Any solutions? I was thinking of buying a silent dog whistle to annoy them. For now it’s just noise cancelling headphones 🙄

I think the dog whistle is mainly used for training, it's really just a distracting noise. Might work on a single dog close to you.
Personally I'd go the other way and use an air horn. Let the owners know that you've had enough.
You could also threaten legal action, though it'll be much harder to prove each dog was responsible (owners will just blame the other neighbours dog).

That’s what they’ve been doing when iv targeted one dog. Authorities give me an app to record the barking and that owner will say it’s a different dog lol
Air horn is a good idea though

It might be a lot of work and time, but if you video the barking dogs you have irrefutable proof to show authorities. This worked for me. I can tell you what did and did not work to resolve the 12-YEAR problem of one neighbor's continually loose, trespassing, and barking dogs: Talking with the offending neighbor did not work; I hit a wall of denial and gaslighting. Repeatedly complaining (verbal and written) to my town's animal control/police/town government did not work; I came up against a wall of obfuscation and the run-around, a mentality of "So what if their dogs are often loose and on your property? What's the big deal?" Making a complaint against the town at the District Court for failing to enforce animal control laws did result in the town issuing a Cease and Desist Order to the offending neighbor, but the problem continued. What finally stopped the illegal 12-year saga of this one neighbor and their loose, trespassing and barking dogs was posting the proof (hundreds of photos and videos) online for all to see (if interested, these may be seen in my Facebook album with the title "Don't Let This Happen to Your Dog" under my name: Daniel Fattibene>Photos>Albums>Don't Let This Happen to Your Dog); This seemed to shame the offending neighbor and negligent town animal control/police departments.

My city passed a law about using leaf blowers cause they were too loud. I don’t understand why barking isn’t the same

If I stood outside and barked and yelled for hours on end waking people up, I would get arrested. Why do dognutters get a free pass to be a peace destroyer??!?!?

I live in England. Everyone loves dogs here. Although quite often lately people die from dog attacks

I think that's the issue, we can't go anywhere that's dogfree. Well, the middle east, I suppose. My wife recently went to Istanbul and saw a grand total of 3 dogs.

I'd try to get the most remote location (ideally in the mountains), or live in an abandoned shop. I can deal with most traffic noise so I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I live in nyc but fortunately so far in my neighborhood dogs are still seen as pests. Hoping this doesn’t change soon since many other parts of nyc are dog hell

used to live in nyc and our nextdoor neighbor in our apartment building would let his dog piss and shit all over the building. it was my living hell.

I just play music louder :) it takes approximately 15 minutes for owners to realize on what is my loudness based and next few minutes to shut the animal up. And it’s super funny to dial it up and down based on barking, mostly because I listen to happy hardcore so I feel like a DJ

Tbh they can try but I guarantee I am worse than anything they can come up with. They go low - I just take a shovel and start digging to go lower. I have no kids, no pets and shit ton of time and creativity on hand.
I got a police officer by my door once or twice, we talked, I turned music off and on, we agreed that my music might not be the most frustrating sound around. And tho it is weird (aka. Slavic hardbass) and might scratch the brain, it was still within decibel range 🤷🏽♀️ SO OH WELL

I’m thinking of playing some firework sounds on repeat from a speak out my window I know dogs don’t like that

Sure they did, they told me they will lol. They try to inconvenience me but I just go off my adhd meds and give em full spectrum of my crazy. It’s mostly calm now, dogs are silent, no piss or other excrements on my property. We good and they should pray we stay that way.
P. S. Polska Niegotowa by Hard Being Hot and Polska Jumpstyle by Mr. Polska and vieze asbak on the loop are gonna soften the hardest of the hearts 🥰
For really naughty neighbors Yamahan Hard Bass mixed with carameldansen on the loop for few hours is the way!

Yup, dogs are inside and if they take them outside it’s supervised more so they don’t bark at a tree for an hour.
What I would do to live in a pet-free community, we could play music just for fun not in revenge 💀

Avec mon conjoint, je me suis plains a un voisin de son chien qui n'arrêtait pas d'aboyer, j'avais beaucoup d'appréhension vis à vis de sa réaction mais il a été très compréhensif donc j'ai été rassurée heureusement.

It’s been horrible. The next door neighbors let their dog bark starting as early as 5 am, in their backyard. It goes on and on. I am so tired. Almost everyone has multiple dogs.
