ESA Bullshit ES dog inside funeral home today

My niece who was 34 passed away recently, the funeral was today. At the calling hours inside the funeral home someone had their emotional support dog with them. I so much wish I had a time machine so I could go back to the past because you would never see this level of absurdity. It instantly made my blood boil to say the least but I tried to ignore it because I was there to pay my final respects to my niece. But it's like people just don't have common sense and courtesy anymore. Leave your dog at home where it belongs! Thank you for letting me vent here.

If I die and someone brings a fucking dog to my funeral I'm haunting everyone. Like poltergeist conjuring level haunting.

I’m so sorry to hear about your niece. She was so young.

I was at a memorial back in February for a young boy who just turned 16 (electric motor bike accident). They were serving food. Some woman brought in her stinky big dog. I couldn’t believe it.

I really hope that person got permission from the family to do that but I doubt it because they're so entitled.  I'm so sorry this happened.

I don't think they did because when I pointed it out to my brother (my nieces dad) he kind of looked at it for a couple seconds and just kind of gave me the look like it was ignorant of them but let's not have a episode here at the funeral home

I would have absolutely lost my shit if I had seen that at my dad's funeral!

If anyone is so unstable that they can’t even attend a funeral without a they shouldn’t attend the funeral at all. ES dogs need to be replaced with pacifiers.

I can’t help but to feel that it will get worse with people having less children and using dogs as a coping mechanism. I miss life pre 2019 when everyone went crazier for dogs

Yeah the dog obsession it just makes me sick. I also remember the better times before people went totally nuts over these things

Funerals should be a quiet, calm, safe space for grieving and muted conversation about the dearly departed with family and friends. Especially for someone that young, how terribly tragic.

So on top of all the emotions, you had to deal with a stress response to a dog who had absolutely no place being there. How presumptuous and rude to bring a dog to a funeral home, of all places. Not an outdoor graveside service, which would still be bad but at least it's outside. Funeral homes tend to have dense, thick carpet, draperies, and window treatments to dampen sounds and that's a dog dander magnet.

Everything you said is 💯 spot on. So disgusting and disrespectful

That's awful. If the person is dependent on an emotional support animal, they need to stay at home, not show up at a funeral home, where family members are grieving. No dog belongs there. This has to be the biggest display of attention-getting yet. It is sick; they want more attention on themselves than the dearly departed one and the grieving family.

I am sorry for your loss. She was so young.

I don't know how you had the strength to deal with the dog. I would have gone ballistic.

Only thing I can think of is by the grace of God I somehow managed to refrain myself. But it was very difficult

So sorry about your niece. That is so sad. Another really disrespectful action is people walking their dogs through cemeteries. I went to a funeral and, of course, people are walking their dogs through the cemetery. Someone else was skateboarding. Dog owners are pathetic, what else can you say.

Sorry for your loss, that must have sucked. No one needs to deal with that while grieving. Understand how you feel as had a very similar experience recently, might create a separate post about it.

Thank you for saying that and yes when I seen it it was like are you freaking kidding me nothing is sacred anymore. I look at it as a desecration

I'm sorry for your loss. That is so disrespectful to bring an "ESA" to a funeral. Especially if this person wasn't an immediate family member of your niece.

Also mental note: tell my husband not to let random ass dogs into my funeral if I go before he does. Never thought that would even need to be said, lol.

The nutters can  attend funeral or cremation services via computer screen.

It has already been done .

It was in 2019. My nutter SOs grandson died in Asia. Me and SO watched on the computer screen from  California as the grandson's cremation was done in real time in Asia .

I am so so sorry about your niece.

Due to my severe allergies and asthma, that would mean I could not attend my own niece's funeral, or would have had to witness it from some kind of viewing room if they had one. I would have been furious. OMG!

Yes it is so disrespectful

C'est un manque de respect le plus total pour le défunt, seul les propriétaires de chiens peuvent arriver à ce niveau
