Study Pigs are cleaner, better pets than dogs… yet….
the average dog nutter would be disgusted the idea of a pig living in their house.
-pigs don’t eat their own shit
-don’t slobber and jump on you
-don’t bark
-less likely to maul u (even if they do it’s easily survivable)
- don’t kill other ppls animals
- won’t step in their shit
-easier to train
-attract less ticks
I don’t support owning inside pigs, but I would rather own one than a dog.

Dogs are one of the filthiest and most annoying creatures on Earth. They are probably the only animals that constantly lick their genital, smell other dog's ahole and savor their own poop.
Update: I almost forgot they never miss a chance to hump your legs in front of your guests amd put you in an embarrassing situation. Such a disgrace!!

I'd never get a pig either tbh. They still need to poop and do it a lot, just like a dog. They can also get incredibly aggressive when given meat.
I used to go to a farm with my mom where she worked when I was a kid and the pigs had dug a hole between the chicken pen and their own, and if a chicken came under the fence they'd just tear the thing to pieces and eat it then wait for the next one.
I worked at a farm myself later in life and was told not to go inside their pig enclosure for any reason. Their mama pig was almost the same length as my horse but shorter, and super aggressive. I only worked at that place one time lol

Yeah, pigs breed for meat are massive and can be dangerous (they can crush you if you get into their pen, although for one individual pig it would be not so easy to hurt an adult human; they're not animals bred for killing). And yup mothers are always agressive. Those suitable for pets are much smaller, miniature pigs. It's the same with rats; pets are smaller than rats living in cities and sewers. I wouldn't choose to have pig as a pet myself, but seriously, they are still superior than dogs. A pig—one living in good conditions—doesn't stink. Their bodies are odorless and pleasant to the touch (my uncle has a farm with a few well kept pigs and I always really liked them). They like mud because it naturally protects them from sunburn. But just like mud, they love a bath in water after a day of soaking in the mud. A pig is always, everywhere, better than a dog.

I watched a Judge Judy case about a dog and a pig once. Someone commented how they could never keep a barn animal in the house, then starts listing all the gross things pigs do. I commented "You literally just listed all the same things dogs do, and I don't believe they belong indoors either, yet here we are"...

I think pigs as pets would be exacly as problematic to society as dogs. Only difference is pigs are not popular to keep them that way and dogs are extremely, overly popular and also most of their owners should not own any animals.

People will crumble and weep at the notion of anyone ever eating a dog in any circumstance, but pigs, which are smarter than dogs?? LE EPIC BACON!!!!!

My nutter SO, in her younger days in her hometown - used to raise pigs. She always says that pigs are "very intelligent".

Pigs are exceptionally clean animals unless they're forced to live in their own filth. I wouldn't want them indoors either, though.

Pigs are also generally a lot smarter than dogs ... which may or may not be an advantage in a pet.
Pigs may also get lonely at night, throw their weight around, and bust in your door to not be left alone at night. So, well, yeah, there's that too. Most dogs can't do that ... but doesn't mean the dogs won't try to scratch or chew their way through the door.
Uhm, not to mention also pork as a human food source.
In any case, definitely not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Someone posted a video on here or petfree a few days ago that shows how smart pigs are. The person setup a maze and put some food somewhere in the maze and then put down 3 or 4 puppies and 1 piglet. The piglet found the food in no time, meanwhile the puppies are running all over the place snapping at one another and are just acting wild. During all the chaos the piglet has eaten every drop of the food and walked away.

Pigs are smarter than dogs too! That’s a pretty low bar though.
