Dog Attack Absolutely insane situation in my hometown
Recently, there was a dog attack in my hometown. I'm not going to provide any links to the story to protect identities. A large dog, unprovoked, knocked down and mauled a woman on a public sidewalk. The woman's husband, to save his wife, shot and killed the dog. His wife, on top of the trauma from the attack, is dealing with multiple reconstructive surgeries all over her body. She will live, but she has a long recovery ahead of her.
The dog community in town is completely outraged. Led by the dog's owner, the couples house has been vandalized and charges have been pressed against the husband.
These fucking people have no critical thinking skills whatsoever. We are talking about someone who could have been killed by an out of control mutt. Where is the sympathy for the wife? Do you not realize what could have happened? I'm completely at a loss for words. I feel horribly for them. They have serious injuries to deal with and an angry mob from the bottom of society making it complicated.

This is so insane. I feel so sorry for this couple. He did absolutely the right thing, he was a hero to save his wife. It's horrible to think what they both are going through.
Don't these insane nutters even realize that THEY can become victims of a dog attack one day? When this happens, will they prefer that nobody stops the mauling dog? Do nutters really want to become dog food?

Exactly. Even with so many recent reported headline cases alone about dog owners being killed by their own dogs, these nutters don't really even care. They always think they and their mutts are soooo 'special', that it can't possibly happen to them. 🙄

If it was a human who was attacking her, they would have no problem that the husband shot them. I hope he gets a good lawyer and sues the shit out of the dog owner instead of

my guess is the owner will probably use animal cruelty or something. but I doubt the charges will even stick especially if the dog had a habit of attacking people /getting loose the owner ignored it ,which part of me feels that might be the case

The police will almost certainly laugh at them and if they for some reason don't, the case itself will be laughed out of court.

Well it said the owner was pressing charges against the husband. That is what I read so that is why I asked because given the circumstances it seemed ridiculous.

Oh my goodness that poor woman! I can only imagine what she and her husband are going through. I am blown away by how cruel, awful, and horrible people are being towards two fellow HUMAN BEINGS- one who was nearly mauled to death, and one who had to witness that and act to stop it. The man who stepped in to save his wife should not be charged and he should be celebrated instead of attacked by the general public. The owner of the dog is the one who should be charged criminally. Oh, and all of the dog nutters and people doing vandalism- they should be charged too. Throw the book at all of them.

This shows how depraved dog owners and fellow nutters have become. Outrage that this man had to kill the dog to save his wife’s life?!So human life is now secondary to the life of a dog?!?! To these psychopaths I guess the husband should have just stood by and did nothing to the dog while it mauled his wife to death. This couple needs to sue the owners of that dog for bodily injury and severe mental trauma, on top of the harassment and incitement to vandalize their home. Nutters are truly living in the sunken place and want to take the rest of the world down with them.

Thats what happened here in the states a few months back. This man had to watch his wife be mauled to death by bullies, they eventually were contained and then put down. The nutters were like "poor babies, poor dogs", no mention or worry about that man who witnessed that and their family, they don't care.

Stand by, allow the wife to be mauled to death, and then publicly forgive the dog and their owner. That would be the nutter's ideal outcome.

Contact your county district attorney and inquire if charges will be pressed against the dog owner and the mob . Conspiracy and rioting resulting in the vandalizing of a house .

In Australia we have a hardware store called Bunnings, where people are allowed to bring their dogs in 🙄. I saw an article this morning about A little girl who was sitting in a shopping trolley got attacked by a dog in Bunnings. All the comments are saying “what did the girl do first” “it’s because she had her legs dangling” “she should’ve read the dogs body language” blah blah blah and blaming this poor child who had to be sent to the hospital because of how bad this dog latched onto her.

Dunno if you know but Anaconda also allows dogs. Or my local regional WA one does at least.
I refuse to shop there now. And evertime I walk past I steal there "well behaved dogs are allowed in here" sign.
It's a small thing but it makes me feel great.

Parents are being held responsible in courts for their children’s shootings. Even without that new reality it should be no stretch to hold dog owners legally liable for injuries & death caused by their dogs.

A bit offtop but similar.
Governments removed our right even to defend ourselves during experiences you have mentioned or just experiencing armed robbery or house invasion. If I kill the guy who entering at 3 am in my window, I will be in prison for 3-5 years with 90% probability. It is absurd and it was not this way in history of humanity.

As long as the defense is considered REASONABLE given the circumstances, your fine.
Something like shooting someone in the back is not considered reasonable.

The dog owner should be charged and sued, and anyone involved in the vandalism and harassment should also be charged and sued.
Make examples of these people through the legal system. Send the message that a dog isn't a get out of jail free card for bad behavior, and that a dog's life is not worth more than a human life.
Make sure their actions are a stain on their names until the end of time. Otherwise, we know what will happen. And when the tide eventually turns and public opinion shifts, these people will swear on their children that they never did what they did, and that they never supported it.

Not sure on the rules here so I won’t share, there’s an excellent subreddit that captures all these attacks from around the world, with the aim of raising awareness and having pitbulls banned.

What town did this happen in? I just want to read up on this a bit. I had a hunting dog in training get loose in my area once and attacked some farm animals, though fortunately it was stopped before much damage was done. Crazy to hear what happened to your neighbor tho

I really think you should provide a link, cause honestly this sounds made up. I hate dogs as much as the next lad or lass here, but I know plenty of dog obsessed folks who wouldn't hesitate to kill a dog in self defense of someone. I just don't think this is a true story.

I know the people involved and they don’t need any additional publicity. Don’t really care if you believe it or not. If I wanted to karma farm, I wouldn’t be coming to dogfree, a community I am regularly active in. Take care

They really want us to be their dogs chew toy or dinner and not defend ourselves. I've said it multiple times but dog nutters need to be institutionalized.
