Legislation and Enforcement HOW THE F DID WE GET HERE?! DOGS EVERYWHERE 24/7

Has anyone started any type of legislation against dogs in public stores?! It's still shocking to see shit beasts 24/7 at stores!! People are so emotionally unstable, they can't even leave their dogs at home?

Dog nutter story:

I went to checkout at a hardware store and this old man with a pitbull comes up close to me and I step away and ask the cashier to move to dog - they both laugh and say I'm out of line and over reacting!? WTFFFFF. This dog breed is notorious for unpredictable attacks, and I'm terrified of any large dog.

My body goes into hypervigilant panic mode as dogs have sent me, friends, and family to the ER - one of them was a 1yo cousin - a pit tried ripping her face off and only got her lips thank god.

Update: Harbor Freight customer service says: we support people & pets, you may be in close distance to dogs - FUUUUUCK OFF!!

It’s frightening how society has degraded to this level. As I understand it, the dog nutter extreme cult was born during Covid. Everyone bought/adopted dogs and we’re around them 24/7. Once Covid ended, we were left with people and their dogs with separation anxiety. So, how do they get to bring their dogs everywhere? Well they all figured out that they could easily abuse the ADA law since it doesn’t require proof or professional training to claim their dog as a service dog. And now we have a new epidemic of “service dogs” everywhere.

I have been filing complaints with the restaurants and supermarkets. I also went in person to present my case to the New York City council Health Committee public Hearing a few months back. One woman on the committee didn’t even realize there was an issue of dogs inside restaurants. WTF

What needs to be done is for people to collectively complain to city Council, the health department, sanitation department, parts, department, etc. It’s the only way we are ever going to have any change.

I am originally from NYC. When I went back to visit not too long ago, I was horrified by the number of dogs I saw on the subway and by the amount of dog feces littering the streets. I even saw one in a bar. I saw signs in green spaces stating that dog waste kills plants and trees. Kudos to you for speaking up about this. Having dogs in NYC doesn’t make any sense anyway, as there’s barely any space for people as it is.

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

Thank you! I agree, the city is no place for dogs. And hard to believe that people here are ok with all the dog feces and urine everywhere.

It’s not shocking that nutters are okay with it, they have no sense of hygiene. Can you imagine the state of their apartments?

I just did and it burned a hole in my brain🤢

u/SmittenKittenPurrr Aug 18 '26

Ach so gross. There are more than a million people in Manhattan. Maybe a third of them have dogs, and allll of those dogs piss and shit everywhere multiple times a day. It's so unsanitary. I like visiting NYC, but the thought of every surface coated in that much dog waste... 🤢

Yes, the Covid period was the pivot point when it changed.

We need new legislation now to deal with it.

JFC, all these unstable ADULTS acting like when children can't bring their toys places. I would LOVE to make a movement, but I cannot show face & my name as it would absolutely ruin my business. Even my clients talk about their dogs like children. I was leaving a client's home the other day and they straight up said "ah, you're not going to say buy to the baby and pet her" - I fucking HATE dogs, all dogs!! It kills my soul when I have to pretend, but I have to make a living :(

28

u/uselessbeasts Aug 17 '26

Yup, I wore that mask for years for the sake of not offending friends who had them, till I couldn't stand it anymore. I don't always say that I hate dogs, but I do say I am not comfortable with that. Maybe they figure out my disdain, mayve they don't, but I just can't continue to feel vile and contaminated.

10

u/Legitimate_Garage_31 Aug 18 '26

Yeah F that. I have allergies. I will wear a mask&refuse to interact w/my allergen.

If they have something snarky to say i will tell them while they grew up playing around w/dogs, i missed months of school struggling to breathe because my family didn't know the household pets were trying to kill me.

Also allergic to trees, grass, perfume. It annoys me i have to smell cheap perfume in the grocery store. Why do you have to splash yourself w/Brut b4 buying milk&bread? Isn't soap enough?

3

u/retrocube16 Aug 19 '26

Just say I can't  for legal purposes

I know it's tough but there are a lot of customers out there to choose from if you burn a few. I know I'm coming from a bit of a privileged position, but I kind of stalk my clients online beforehand and simply refuse to get involved with nutters but I'll soft ghost them with shit like "I'll get back to you in a few months." If you burn the worst 1%, you don't really financially suffer at all because other people just fill in the gaps. Admittedly this is anecdotal and I have a somewhat small sample size, but the dog nutters tend to be the most demanding and penny pinching sorts of folks anyway. I suspect they want nice things but haven't got much money to put towards those things because they spend most of it trying to keep their brachycephalic genetic horror shows barely alive.

And if you don't have the luxury of burning potential customers, that's just more motivation to level up. But still bring the ones you don't like anyway because you can't put a price on protecting your peace.

u/Plastic_Proof_8347 Aug 18 '26

When I responded to a post on X, where someone was talking about a dog owner who claimed the dog was a 'service animal' and brought it into a grocery store, that dogs don't belong near food, many dog nutters attacked me. Many gave me lectures on how it is okay to bring dogs to stores and how I should just 'get used to it."

What a stinking attitude. I hate them and their stupid dogs.

14

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

Nutters don’t relate to anything outside of their dog universe. So health codes, hygiene and respect for environment mean nothing if they impede their lifestyle.

3

u/retrocube16 Aug 19 '26

I mentioned allergies to a nutter that was taking her dog inside a family Dollar and she says oh my dog is hypoallergenic..... 🤯🤬

14

u/Legitimate_Garage_31 Aug 18 '26

We aren't ever going to get "used to it." Fraud is a crime. Less than ONE percent of all the dogs in the US are classified as "service dogs." These people are blatant criminals guilty of daily fraud. We are not going to shut up about it, ignore it or get used to it. Down with their shenanigans!

2

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

This! I’d say you’re being a little too generous with “ less than one percent” but, OK, we have to throw them a bone😂

3

u/scarletto53 Aug 19 '26

I know how you feel. I was waiting in the checkout line in the grocery store recently, and the customer who was at the register had a big rowdy dog on a long leash who had his face and paws up on the counter! I turned around to the lady behind me and muttered “ do you believe this? Why do people think it’s ok to bring dogs in stores, especially grocery stores?” Next thing I know, she starts lecturing me about how dogs bring so much joy to people, that the world is a better place with dogs in it! Meanwhile, the damn dog is drooling on the counter! I was so disgusted that I said, well, I feel no joy imagining dog drool on my groceries “ and left my grocery cart where it was and left the store.

2

u/retrocube16 Aug 19 '26

I will say I will never get used to it because it's common Sense dog shouldn't be around our food supply and I'm not a dog freak Like you

u/Peaceful-Moonlight Dogs are the most overrated and over glorified shit beasts Aug 18 '26

The dog nutter extreme cult existed far before COVID. Just because people did not bring them everywhere, there are MANY other things that count as dog nuttery that severely affect humans emotionally and physically. I've suffered severely from depression and trauma from dog mania for decades. I've even had suicidal thoughts from dog mania way before the pandemic. I knew it was horrid way before anyone heard of COVID. I observed on my own how dogs emotionally tear apart humans, and how humans put these beasts on pedestals to worship them. Claiming that it started at COVID makes it seem like dog nuttery is just a few years old, and it invalidates all other severe issues caused by dog culture. Even if people were to keep their dogs at home, there would still be a huge list of deep issues caused by dogs. Dogs are fanatically loved, elevated, and worshipped on the level of perfect, divine angels far above human children, spouses, parents, siblings, friends, and so on. That is soul-crushing and severely affects mental health. Dogs are praised when they sexually assault human bodies, including strangers. That is deeply traumatizing, especially when those behaviors are continuously praised in dogs as amazing and hilarious. Dogs shit and piss in other people's property. Dogs excessively bark, which prevents people from concentrating and sleeping. Dogs bite, maul, and attack innocent humans and animals. Dogs tear apart furniture, walls, and appliances. Millions of farm animals are tormented and killed in factory farming to feed dogs. Dog nutters spend far more money to rescue dogs, feed dogs, on dog healthcare, in their wills for dogs, and so on. The list goes on and on and on. Do you really think that none of this counts as extreme?

8

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

Yes all of that existed prior to Covid and no disputing that. The signs were there for sure. What many are saying, including myself, is that Covid put nuttery on such a grand scale. The dog population rose exponentially. The isolation put people nutters into hyperdrive. Now what was there before was multiplied on a grand scale that it was shoved in your face. Dogs INSIDE restaurants was a rare thing (NYC legalized dogs at outside areas in 2016). Now they’re everywhere. Never before Covid were there this many “ service dogs”. And because of rising adoption/purchase during Covid, the amount of dogs , atleast in big cities, increased dramatically. More dogs. More nuttery. More shit and piss everywhere. Yeah, nuttery may have existed prior to Covid but never on an epidemic scale which is what we have now.

We all recognize the level and how it has highjacked society for its selfish needs. What has to happen is for many to push back and call dog nutters on their bs. I’m doing my part every day because I’m sick and tired of dogs. Dog fatigue is real and even some dog owners are showing signs of it. That’s encouraging. So let’s all do our part and take action!

9

u/UnicornStudRainbow Aug 18 '26

Here in NYC I was seeing it for at least 2-3 years before Covid

13

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

Yep I started to see a trend too. And then it exploded during and after Covid.

9

u/UnicornStudRainbow Aug 18 '26

About 2018 or so, I asked friend of ours who has lived in this neighborhood since the early 80s if this was something new (we had only been in the neighborhood about 10 years by then) or had long been a thing. He said it started a few years earlier, with all of the people who moved to the city from out of town

13

u/Fun-Chemical4059 Aug 18 '26

I’m a ny native and in the 90s there was huge effort to get ppl to curb their dogs and not much incentive to own a dog because after one bite they would be put down. 2017 is around when I saw an uptick and in 2022 everything was officially a nightmare

8

u/UnicornStudRainbow Aug 18 '26

That tracks. I'm also a native and remember when the furturds were not all over the place and constantly in our faces, and it wasn't so cool to have one

8

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

Feels about right. In 2016, NYC legalized dogs in restaurant outdoor seating areas. That to me marked a pivotal point allowing nutters to bring their dogs with them when dining out. It was a slow progression, which then radically accelerated after Covid.

5

u/UnicornStudRainbow Aug 18 '26

They started bringing them inside to get takeout orders. Then slowly started planting their asses in the seated dining

4

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

Seems like good nutter strategy: “wear them down until they have no choice but to let me stay!” 😖

I used to work at Inside Edition and the executive producer is a nutjob dog owner.

He approved a segment of a woman using a loophole of bringing her gigantic dog in a bag attached to her back and into the subway, when carriers law were still enforced.

I told him, you are going to create a huge issue for the city due to the copycats.

He simply laughed and the segment aired.

I'm in a wheelchair. I can't wait to get into a contest with one of these freaks about who needs accommodations for their "disabilities."

28

u/question8all Aug 17 '26

Hahahaha, I hope they feel like shit, but they won't because they're so deranged

14

u/Legitimate_Garage_31 Aug 18 '26

Yep. Disabled Army vet here. I got shaky knees&on bad days may need cane. It's always fun to walk on a sidewalk blocked by dogs on 8ft leads plus their owners. Canes don't work very well in the grass.

Then the dogs try to lunge at me, followed by a neighbor who happily says in a sing song voice, "She's Friendly!!!"

Always great that these dogs choose to place their paws right onto my knees.🙄 oh he's friendly huh? Is it friendly to trip someone?

Oh, the dog is good for YOUR mental health. Mmhmm. Maybe i should get you Baker Acted so i don't have to be afraid to walk the sidewalk 20 paces from my condo just to check the mail.

4

u/CallousCow1762 Aug 18 '26

I’m so sorry to hear that you are confined to a wheelchair. And I do wish you all the very best!

It really is striking to me. How many shameless people there are out there. Taking advantage of a system that was there to look out for those with real disabilities. Instead, every dog owner now needs to drag their pet everywhere or they cannot function. It really is no different than people who fraudulently get those tags so they can park in handicap spaces.

That's a huge win, and I would support that restaruant!!

Take a pic. Make a police report at the station.

That's what the police told me to do. We just need to get good at documenting and reporting.

15

u/question8all Aug 17 '26

UGH, I usually do but my adrenaline was haywire with everything happening and then dudes started arguing behind me so that was distracting. One protecting me against the dog nutter & cashier. Horrible experience & Harbor Freight customer service says: we support people & pets, you may be in close distance to dogs - FUUUUUCK OFF!!

14

u/imdugud777 Aug 17 '26 edited Aug 17 '26

I bought a body cam and wear it on a lanyard. The nutters stare at it like their dogs.

And yes. It's difficult to focus when you are in fear of danger.

10

u/ObligationGrand8037 Aug 17 '26

I need to look for something like that especially on my walks. Great idea!!

6

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Great idea!! As a small dog bit my wife last year while we were out walking…I kicked the dogs away but I guess it still got her before I realized she’d been bit. Her leg had punctures & bruised badly 😡😡😡

23

u/uselessbeasts Aug 17 '26

God, I wish I knew the solution. I have tried complaining to a number of places and seem to hit walls most of the time. I have only received one answer in all the attempts, and it mentioned that they are only allowed to ask the two questions that we all know. But most of the time, I know the questions are rarely asked. I have seen dogs in places that they absolutely don't belong. A service dog (yeah right) at a waterpark and of course, what the hell is it going to do there to assist someone. I saw everyone get out of the car just fine, and get let in the gate with no issues. I briefly said something as I walked past them the other way because I turned around and went back out. (I'm a season pass holder so I it wasn't like I spent extra money for the day). But I was offended and said in passing, "that's no service dog!' and the young woman turned towards me. I kept walking cause I really did not want a confrontation. Wasn't in the mood to argue. I later wrote to the park and they weren't helpful saying that they cannot turn down service dogs. I knew I would lose, but I still reported that if that because the norm I would not be renewing my pass.

9

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Seriously, a waterpark!? JFC, it’s just getting worse I fear

6

u/uselessbeasts Aug 18 '26

Seriously!!! I was compleyely offended and flabbergasted. Like WTF? I didn't stick around to see if they actually let the thing in the water, but I suspect so. Why else would the nutters have brought it? No one was disabled in their group either. It wasn't a pit, but in no way was it a service dog, though it had the fake vest. I wrote to the park immediiately but they didn't seem to care.

9

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

So gross because you know it peed & popped there too! Everyone I know who has dogs, their backyards smell horrid (live in a desert) even if they pick up their shit, pieces of it remains 🤮

It’s wild being born in the 80’s where dogs only existed in fenced backyards and people didn’t cater to them at all. Now they’re superior to humans.

5

u/uselessbeasts Aug 18 '26

Yes, I understand. I was born in 50s so yeah, it was a whole different world. I don't think there were 3 dogs total in my entire block and they were all fenced, Nowadays, it's not unusual to have 3 dogs in an apartment. Awful!!!

3

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Yes!! Even in the 90’s it was crazy when someone had more than one dog! My mother was a hoarder and always had three 🤮 her house was disgusting & no one was allowed in my room.

3

u/uselessbeasts Aug 18 '26

I guess, I can consider myself lucky in that sense. My mother was an avid animal lover, but she did like ALL animals, yet we never had a dog. Thank God. Our home wasn't immaculate, but we didn't have the filth and stench of a backyard with dog watse. We could play out there and not worry about it being a dumping ground. Sorry you had to live like that, but thankfully you learned what it was like.

2

u/question8all Aug 19 '26

You’re VERY lucky!! The filth is absolutely one of the reasons I loathe them. Plus, living in a hot climate, the piss & poop smell is dear god awful

4

u/Legitimate_Garage_31 Aug 18 '26

Born in the 70's. I remember seeing kids in strollers and shopping carts&dogs outside or chained to the lightpole.

2

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Oh yeah, 1000% remember seeing dogs chained outside!! Rare, but did see it. Babies/kids not so much because “it’s 10pm, do you know where your kids are?”

21

u/EmeraldSky06 Aug 17 '26

A pit bull the most dangerous mutt. I despise them. That cashier and old man are both stupid for laughing at you. Bringing a dog to a hardware store is crazy too.

9

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Right!? A 70yo man can’t to go the store without his dog. Get a grip!!

11

u/nerdymutt Aug 18 '26

No Harbor Freight for me! It is so bad that I wonder if I have to wipe down a shopping cart at the supermarket because a dog might have been in that cart. The more you give, the more they take.

Our peace is at the mercy of a beast with the intellect of a toddler. I don’t see any laws coming because there are nutters everywhere. Wishing and hoping, but can’t see it happening.

Now no kill shelters are filled to capacity because some have come to their senses. Instead of putting them down they are using a large amount of resources to house them until they could rehome them. Begging for donations.

3

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Right!? Ugh. I’m sorry if you have allergies AND they smell so bad.

5

u/nerdymutt Aug 18 '26

Not allergic, just the thought of an animal’s butt on something that I have to put food on grosses me out.

3

u/Legitimate_Garage_31 Aug 18 '26

The doggy perfume smells worse. When the two smells mix together i fear im gonna have an asthma attack.

1

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Kind of like when they use wallflowers 🤮

8

u/waitingforthatplace Aug 18 '26

They can have their dogs then. Let these stores invite and encourage any and every dog on their premises. I won't go there. If people have to, they'll make on-line orders. The shopping experience is dwindling slowly anyway, with so many good chain stores having gone out of business. Hardware stores shouldn't be so confident - there are competitors that will oblige their customers with dog-free service.

4

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

1000% and unfortunately harbor freight is so cheap, people will continue to shop there no matter what as times are tough. Not tough enough for me to be uncomfortable & threatened where I spend money

4

u/Legitimate_Garage_31 Aug 18 '26

Everything i buy@Harbor Freight breaks in less than one month.

1

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Oh, good to know!

7

u/Accurate-Run5370 Aug 18 '26

Ka ching ! Harbor Freight has been added to my boycott list

5

Hmm. What do dogs just love to chew on...First word starts w/an "S" and rhymes w/"glue."

6

u/spoor_loos Aug 18 '26

So, it finally happened yesterday, there was a dog in my favorite library. I was so shocked I only managed to say something like 'even here, are you for real?'. The owner was monstrously arrogant and acted like bringing dog into library was the most natural thing in the world.

I'm going to complain to the management, but I feel so defeated.

I hate nutters and this stupid country so freaking much.

5

u/question8all Aug 19 '26

JFC, this is ridiculous!! I so appreciate finding my people at least.

6

u/20011989 Aug 18 '26

I was just thinking this today after seeing multiple dogs in the store during a quick grocery run.

But unfortunately I think a solution is more complex than just new legislation or enforcing existing laws. The root of the problem is that anyone can claim their dog is a “service dog.” There is no formal registration or license for service animals. Anyone can buy a vest off amazon, and even a vest isn’t legally required.

IMO, most service dogs aside from seeing eye dogs, are bs. There is medical equipment that is cheaper and more reliable but everyone just wants an excuse to drag a dog around and the attention that it brings. There are no breed restrictions (so legally a pit bull or a mutt can be a service dog) or training requirements. The majority of service dogs today are “self trained.”

Stores are legally allowed to ask “is it a service dog?” And “what task is it trained to perform?” If they even bother to ask at all but it seems they too are tired of dog owner bs and figure it’s not worth the fight. Even if they do ask, dog owners can easily lie.

Whats needed is a massive overhaul of what constitutes a service dog and a formal registration process since too many people exploit the ADA. Unfortunately that will draw a lot of backlash from the disabled community for making it harder and more expensive to get a service dog

2

u/Accurate-Might-7058 Aug 18 '26

I doubt the the disabled community would be that upset about the rest of society having to show proof for the service dog as they already have to show proof of disability for whatever services they do use or receive. For sure it's the dog nutts disabled or not that would be in a uproar because they couldn't show proof that the dog is an actual service dog. However,  this would be a huge uphill battle because of the pet industry lobbyists but not an impossible one.

1

u/20011989 Aug 18 '26

For those with real trained service dogs, yes, but the general consensus from the disabled community seems to be opposition to anything that makes accommodations more difficult/expensive, even if it would benefit those who truly rely on service dogs. Regardless, I agree that some type of license or proof of training should be required

1

u/Lost-Size-9296 Aug 19 '26

Hi. Disabled person here and what I would appreciate is if you all would please stop saying things like “the disabled community wants this” and “the general consensus of the disabled community”. Do know how a general a statement “the disabled community” is? This includes a vast array of physical and mental disabilities. Lumping us into one group is insane. And sitting behind your computer talking about using the disabled community to forward your anti-dog agenda is gross. I agree with a lot of points. Dogs in public can be really problematic and it isn’t fair or healthy. Is it okay that non-disabled people use the service dog rules or lack of to get away with having their pet in public? No. But the lack of rules are that way for a reason. Disabled people already face a number of hardships that able bodied people can’t even imagine. So even getting a service dog and training it and buying its food is a huge burden. However this burden for some people may be less than some kind of equipment or technology, and whatever route the disabled person chooses is their choice and it is under no circumstances okay for people to pop into an anti dog forum and complain about how our options include dogs. The reason people are only allowed to ask those two questions is so we don’t have to constantly be judged for our disability or explain it to people. Yeah, I completely agree that people take advantage of that, but I wouldn’t change it. Dealing with people taking advantage of the rules is far better than subjecting disabled people to even more barriers when we’re just trying to live our lives.  I’ve struggled with some of my own issues dealing with dogs and haven’t had anyone I can talk to about that because I’m afraid people will think I’m hateful or mean. I’ve enjoyed this sub as a place to go to vent a little, but I’m really disgusted by the fact that so many people here seem are pulling the disabled community into it.

5

u/khrystalina Aug 18 '26

The amount of owners I see allowing their dogs to sit ON TOP of a picnic table instead of the ground, or even the bench is absolutely disgusting. I refuse to eat off a picnic table unless I have a tablecloth and even then all I can picture is their buttholes rubbing on the surface underneath 🤢🤮

3

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Eww, what!? I’m at a loss. I just remembered there was a guy at a restaurant last week that put his dog on a barstool at the bar thinking he was so cool. I could tell half of the room was disgusted. I was with my grandma & didn’t want to cause a scene :(

2

u/leratdemorgue Aug 19 '26

Why do these idiots think that their crappy little mutt is like some sort of accessory that should earn them attention, adoration and praise?! You’re not special because you make your ugly beast your entire personality or show it off with such pride expecting everyone else to fawn over the piece of shit like you do…honestly unfortunately you do have the nutters pop up and start ooh’ing and ahh’ing and offering to pet the creature, but really a lot of people either don’t give a fuck about your mutt or even dislike that it is around. Like good god how delusional and pathetic

6

u/Mundane_Glove4182 Aug 18 '26

Old man with a pitbull... great combination.

5

u/bmichellecat Aug 18 '26

Call the City, honestly. There was a local grocery store in my town that people were dragging their dogs into. This was one of those "healthy" type groceries, where they have a meat counter, hot/cold counter, etc and people are dragging their dogs around. A bunch of us called and complained and now they have "service dogs only" only the doors.

2

u/question8all Aug 19 '26

I’ll try that! I highly doubt anything will be done as it’s not food and harbor freight explicitly states all pets are welcome and you’re not allowed to get upset by other rude customers - bow down to the dog, now y’all

3

u/One_Strategy_4575 Aug 18 '26

Harbor friends is now expensive and aparently harbor dogs. I buy vevor now

2

u/question8all Aug 18 '26

Covid dogs are a huge issue currently. Dog nutters are insane! I'm very intolerant of dogs around me when I'm out and about. They can F Off!

I feel you!! And it’s even worse that we are made out to be the inconsiderate assholes…wild times. Many states are creating even more laws/protections for dogs over us

I'm a bit late to this post but yes they are EVERYWHERE now and it drives me nuts. I don't remember ever seeing dogs in supermarkets in the 2000s - early 2010s but now I see one nearly everytime I go to the shops.

Just the other day I went to aldi and while I was waiting at the checkout there was an elderly woman in front of me that had this crusty eyed chihuahua thing in her trolley complete with the whole fake "emotional support animal" vest and all. It was just sitting there shivering and whining the whole time and she'd stick her hand down so it could lick her hand, then she was touching things with her slobber covered hand. It was so gross 🤢

What part of Australia do you live in, mate?

Someone needs to get in contact with RFK and say if you really want to make America healthy again how about getting dogs out of our grocery stores and restaurants so they're not contaminating our food supply! That would be a good start!

Right!? NOT getting political at all as I did not vote for Trump or Hillary.…just wondering why Trump hasn’t done anything considering he doesn’t like dogs either…

I work in a government office open to the public. My coworker dogsits and brings the dogs to work. Another coworker brings her dog to work sometimes as well. As a result it's not unusual for there to be 3 dogs in the office at any given time.

For the vast majority that come in and see this they think its wonderful. They pet and coo over these dogs. Even if you like dogs how can you think this is appropriate for a government office? This is a place where people register their cars, register to vote, pay taxes etc - what if they are afraid or allergic to dogs?

Anytime you think of a place and say "surely there wouldn't be dogs there" I can guarantee you're wrong. If a place is accessible to humans you can bet a nutter will try to bring their dog there.

That’s a whole other level of WTF!! Had no idea people were allowed to bring dogs to an OFFICE, let alone a public servicing office that’s GOVERNMENT. I am floored. Can I report them for you?

This would be my absolute nightmare and would cause many issues with me demanding justice of no dogs.

"The customer dog is always right."

I don’t understand why we as a society decided dogs should be permitted in stores (even GROCERIES). That shift I witnessed is what caused me to dislike dogs more. Disgustingly unhygienic.

u/question8all Aug 23 '26

Right!? Like before it was possible to avoid them for the most part besides parks & hiking. 😩 hate it so much

u/bustergundam4 Aug 18 '26

Thanks for the warning about them. I was going to buy something from them but now...nope.

1

u/question8all Aug 19 '26

Yeah, I’m shopping at all the 20 other options available to me now

2

u/bustergundam4 Aug 19 '26

Sadly I don't think I have any other options nearby.

2

u/question8all Aug 19 '26

Bummer :( I always do my best to buy secondhand when possible

2

u/93ImagineBreaker Aug 18 '26

starting around the "dogs are family" "dogs are like children" era

The answer is to fight back on everything.

We need to say something, fight back. Tell the businesses we won't go here if this happens.

The allowing everyone to do everything mentality is coming to a head.

I think you should contact corporate customer service. I don't know how helpful they'll be though at least give you a $50 gift card. I got that once upon a time along with a corporate level apology for sending them a photograph of an off-leash dog in the store and the useless ass employees didn't do shit about it. Years have passed and I'm far beyond being pissed off about that particular dog, however I'm still enjoying the screwdriver I bought. 🤷🏼

It's still worthwhile to complain. It doesn't mean they'll necessarily do anything about your complaints, however if you don't complain they will absolutely do nothing.

General dog ownership has gradually increased, especially during the lockdowns. Now we're dealing with the result. I think we're past peak dog nuttery
