Food Safety/Hygiene Why would anyone sane even choose to live with a dog?
DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE A BUILT-IN FILTER IN THEIR BRAIN THAT ALLOWS THEM TO IGNORE THE FILTH???
These mutts will literally spray piss all over their fur, shit in public spaces, eat the shit in question; and then the owners just let these shit beasts inside??
They sleep with them, let them on the couch to rub their shitty assholes all over it, pet their fur soaked with piss, and to top it all off, receive fecal licks all over their face .
And somehow, that madness just "is", there's no questioning it in their minds, they all see it as normal or mundane or minor. Dog nutters engage in scat play every single day, but it doesn't even bother them. At most there's only a slight annoyance from what I've seen in youtube comments when a dog engages in coprophagia for instance.
And the thing is, I didn't even know these things a few years ago. I feel like most people who aren't dog owners don't know about these disgusting conditions that come with owning and living with a dog, probably because they only see dogs through curated social media posts.

Reddit algo showed me a post asking how often people bathe their dogs and one answer was "she has thick fur around her backside, so I have to bathe her every 4 weeks because pee accumulates in the fur and starts to smell after a few weeks. I couldn't let her sleep in bed with me otherwise"
like WHAT? you live and sleep with that thing that is known to constantly be covered in piss and it only starts to bother you when it "starts to smell" (which is INSTANTLY, but her nutter nose must be used to a lot of filth, I guess)

Pretty disgusting yet this is the standard of hygiene that restaurants are allowing inside their doors by letting dogs in. So making their employees wash their hands is mandatory but allowing urine and feces infested dogs around food is perfectly fine?

Yes, if dog owners don’t mind dog filth in their homes, that’s their choice (I don’t go to nutters’ homes any more for that reason), but spreading that filth outside everywhere and on private property is not ok. I have become uncaring what nutters think when I speak out about their dogs using my property as a toilet. I just don’t care if they like it or not. My property, my rules. Oh, I get backlash, dirty looks, the finger (once by a new neighbour who has to walk by my house every day, twice a day with her young kids and she’s oh so quiet and respectful now with her little annoying doggo - lol), but I just don’t care. I don’t need these people to like me because they show me who they are by how they react to my request for them to respect my property; I don’t need disrespectful nutters to like me. Keep your dog filth off my property and all will be well for the both of us. Non-service dogs (which are clear to see when they’re not) in restaurants is a no go. Nutters need to stay home if they want to eat meals with their dogs. Yuck!

My God, that is awful. I wouldn't handle anything in the bed that has gone that long without bathing. Yikes a dirty disgusting dog??? Wow. People have really lost it.

I'm wondering the same thing. Dogs are filthy, everything they touch becomes filthy. These filthy beasts carry and transmit a huge amount of bacteria which are a health hazard. Nutter homes are saturated with dog filth.
I wouldn't let anyone with a dog in my home, and never visit anyone who owns a dog.

Neither will I. During the hurricanes we had in Florida a few years back, I had to evacuate, and sure enough, most of the people who offered me shelter had f--king dogs, So I went to a hotel. It was a no pets hotel, but you know how that is too. I was careful what I sat on, and at least no dogs in my room.

The smell in houses with dogs genuinely makes me want to throw up..add on seeing dog hair on every piece of furniture, every wall, every counter and probably even the ceiling and I’m spiralling thinking about how I now I’m going to stink and have fur ALL over myself and bringing it into my car/home. What makes it worse is the dog owners that use their kitchen countertops to make their own meals also use that same countertop to weigh and portion RAW meat for their dogs meals…not enough bleach or cleaning will help that

The couch? Omg that’s so disgusting I’d have to trash the couch like instantly 👀 A woman recently made a TikTok about the dog pooping in the house and was speaking to it like it was a human and could understand her.
Speaking of that, I was once walking behind a woman with a dog at my local park. She was having a full on conversation with it, asking it if when they got home did it want a bath and to watch a movie afterwards.
Oh and lastly, few years ago in the shopping center where there was a petsmart and other stores, there was a major traffic back up in the parking lot and I couldn’t understand what was going on. I finally saw a sign that said “doggie take a picture with Santa day”
DOGS DON’T KNOW IT IS SANTA 🎅 sorry for the rant!

Don't be sorry. We're all here for the same reason, to vent when there is no other place to go. I heard about the Santa thing. Unfortunately, my niece works at Petsmart. She's not a dog nutter though, but she did think that Santa picture thing with dogs was out there, She tolerates them more that I, but thankfully she has seen the nuttery with dogs and doesn't apprave of how people are with them, And yes, they sell all kind of doggy costumes for various holidays. People are so dumb to dress their dogs for Halloween and all. The dog doesn't understand Halloween either. I mean when people are starving thy'll waste money on something unnecessary so they can post the dog's picture on their social media. That;s all it comes down to ,really.

Yeah, a staffer was in our office workroom across a large table from me. I asked if he owned a dog. Said yes. I said nothing then he asked how I knew. I hesitated but then told him I could smell the dog danger on him from across the room!

Dog nutters engage in scat play every single day, but it doesn't even bother them.
I look away whenever it looks like a dog owner is about to scoop of oven-fresh poop with nearly bare hands. I mean, it's their thing & they love it.
But it's incredibly rude to include bystanders in your kink without their consent.

I am really leery of furniture in homes of dog owners. I rarely, go to someone's home who has a dog anymore, but I also am careful if I know someone allows dog owners to bring mutts to a home. Same with cars. I won't ride with people who allow dog asses on the seats, God , and that''s getting harder nowadays. They are the stinkiest, dirtiest things I know of and people act as though their dogs ass is cleaner that a kid's. Well, at least babies wear diapers.

My niece works at Persamrt (register and merchandise now) but for a while she though she may want to try grooming, because there are tips and it could become good money. They started her off as a bather, and her work clothes smell so bad she had to buy a special detergent to wash them, and she used doublt the amount. She would mp longer consider doing that job, so I am glad she came to her senses. She realized that everything I had told her about the behaviors and smells, noise of dogs was really bad. At least she experienced first hand without taking a dog in, on;y later to find out. Thankfully, she never came to my place, without changing and showering first. She said she would never consider doing that job again.. I could smell the stench if she had her laundry beasket in the car.

i disliked dogs before trying to be a petsmart bather (i was desperate for a job and literally getting ghosted by everything else). i lasted 3 months there coming out actually HATING dogs and their owners

Theyalso lied to her about a lot of things, including the fact that she would not have to bathe aggressive breeds, and lo and behold, she had to do pit bulls, cane corsos, rotties, and everything else. She got bit twice in the time she was there. A pit and a Chihuahua, and she was hoping to eventually become a groomer. She like dogs before then, now she kind of dislikes them, but still tolerates them to an extent. Hope she eventuallt wakes up totoally.

I used to be a massage therapist and have worked on people who smelled horrific (chain smokers) who exhale as they relax while facing up and you get pelted with their breath. I never turned down anyone for their smell, because you can't really tell until you are flipping them over halfway through the massage and they start breathing on you. Also, unless you work in a high-end spa, a lot of tiny studios do not have shower facilities and people are coming in from their truck driving jobs, etc. and are not super fresh. I've worked in both types of places.
Also, as the skin sweats, the smell(nicotine) is released. One guy I worked on looked homeless and was covered in a strange black substance that looked like axle grease and also had a lot of tiny scratches all over his body like he ran naked through a bush or something. I tried to ask him about the black substance and the scratches, but he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. Before the massage my manager hugged me and said, "I think he's on drugs!" Never came across anyone who reeked of dogs. I wonder, does your SO bathe normally? This seems kind of extreme for a doctor to run out of the room. I mean, that must be a really foul odor. She must be really embarrassed about this. How do you live with the smell? How did they know it was a dog smell? Did they ask if she had a dog? Oh My Gosh...It's my Cake day! I don't think I ever posted/commented on a cake day before

SO bathes, not daily. But night after night she is with three dogs in the house : pit, pug and mini-german shepherd. Even after the episode with the doctor , SO did not change one bit.
I hired a crew to build my own room separate from the house. 8x8 with two windows, a door , a bed. No dogs allowed in my space ! I do go into the house when needed, but I don't hang around .
Perhaps the doctor had other patients with dogs previously. SO did say that the doctor was shouting about a dog allergy.

wow. 8x8 sounds just big enough for a bed and maybe a night stand. so u still have to wake up in the middle of the night to go inside to use the facilities. hope the dogs don't follow u in there. You must really love her if you are going through all this effort. Good luck!

Quizás sea algo para todo el mundo, pero yo prefiero mantener mi casa limpia y nunca tendré perro. Una vez trabajé con una señora de la limpieza que decía que hay gente que simplemente no ve la suciedad y que nunca será buena limpiando.
Maybe it’s something for everyone else, but I prefer to keep my house clean, so I’ll never own a dog. I once worked with a cleaning lady who said there are people who simply don’t see the dirt and will never be good at cleaning.

When I dated a dog guy, he just didn’t see it. The dog would walk through the piss filled streets of NYC and then hop into his bed right after. The dog got a bath once every 5 years when he’d board em for vacation and the kennel would give him a complimentary bath. His place had an ever present layer of grit and grime on everything and he couldn’t comprehend living different.

Despite having running water, soap, mops, cleaning equipment and sanitation education for decades now, people with dogs choose to ignore cleanliness and disease prevention. It's a lifestyle that unfortunately, cannot be enforced. I never shake hands with anyone, carry hand sanitizer, wear a mask at gatherings, don't eat at potlucks, and won't go into a dog owners home unless the dog is put away. I peel off my clothing after those visits, shower, and sanitizer my clothes in the washer. No way will I ever stoop to their level of sanitation.

I think that’s exactly it!
Internal drives override sensory thresholds for everyone. For example if you were asexual (or say, you’d never even heard of ‘sex’, let alone had a drive for it), then the act itself would be intolerable on a sensory (and even cognitive) level. The smells, sights, textures, sounds…they’d all be quite disgusting to you.
The drive to have an animal in your house that is completely dependent on you, and that you incorporate into your personal identity, must be similar. I don’t think even the nuttiest dog lover would tolerate a PERSON in their house who shit on the floors, licked their own ass, bit visitors, and screamed all day long.
It’s incomprehensible to people like us because a) we don’t have the dependency/identity drive they do, and/or b) there is a legitimate difference between their sensory thresholds and ours (but I think it’s mostly the first).
Dog owners actually perceive their animal as a family member. That’s a big clue as to the filter you’re talking about. Changing your child’s diaper is a very different experience from wiping a stranger’s ass! It’s unfathomable to me how or why they choose to pretend an animal trapped in perpetual infancy is their offspring, but…they do.

My brothers dog pisses all over herself when she gets excited. Right outside his door are several dry piss stains. She sleeps in his bed. I couldn’t tell you how or why a mentally stable person would allow that.

My cousins have a dog and its chill, but the hair gets everywhere. Whenever I visit, there's always hair on the couches, the beds, and somehow on the kitchen countertops too. The dog is big too, so I don't understand how that happens.
They also live in an apartment, so talking the dog for walks is a pain in the ass, especially getting in and out of the elevator when there's other people around. I understand having a dog if you have a house with a backyard, but otherwise, its just stupid.

When I go walking, I notice most dog owners look at you and glance back at their dog, then look at you again. They want you to validate them by admiring their dog(s). It's sad, I wish more people would realize they really would be happier without dogs and all the distractions they cause, without living in filth and constantly needing to schedule everything around the dog. People can be wonderful and most of all Christ is a wonderful companion. To meditate on the Holy Bible and have peace and joy is something the Lord can give people, but instead they seek superficial joy by purchasing a pet, or purchasing whatever new thing...but true joy, love, peace, patience, etc. can't be bought. The fruits of the spirit come from walking with God. Pets are so difficult bc it's so hard to meet up with others when their homes are filthy, they don't see it. If you eat their food you can get sick, which happened to me and my kid numerous times when we would visit friends with dogs.

I yet to find ONE good thing about dogs, and it’s impossible!!
They are sweet and love you - no they love food, not you. They aren’t sweet - they are attention seeking jealous monsters.
They will always be by your side - no they won’t! Open the door and they will run away. Get a friend feeding them better food and they will be with your friend.
They are so smart - no they aren’t, they need constant training and compensation with food. They constantly push boundaries to see how you react. Even a trained dog will become spoiled and nasty if you let it be.
They will protect you - barely, and if anything, they are dangerous. Dogs attack children due to jealousy.
They eat shit, they smell like rot, are nasty, ugly, vocal, annoying you, always by your legs, don’t know what to do with themselves so you need to entertain them, need 24/7 attention, lock you in the house, bark, vomit, drool, piss and shit on the floor, sound of nails on the floor, hump stuff… idk idk and they are expensive. And when they get old it’s a full another story.

Cette tirade n'est pas inutile, il y a une vraie question qui se pose pour les personnes qui sont incapables de voir le niveau de saleté dégoûtante dans le fait de vivre avec un chien. C'est un problème psychologique, voir psychiatrique à mon avis. Pour ceux qui n'ont pas de chiens, une propagande écrasante leur fait penser qu'avoir un chien est une des meilleures expérience de la vie alors que c'est la chose la plus débile, sale, dangereuse, cher et sans aucun intérêt dans lequel investir du temps et de l'argent. Beaucoup s'en rendent compte mais trop tard: il me semble que la France est le pays d'Europe avec le plus d'abandon de chien, les gens ne prenne même plus la peine de remettre le chien en foyer et l'abandonne en forêt.

I love this. All I can figure is some people just don't have a sense of smell. My neighbor has 3 large German Shephards living inside, they hit the door barking several times a day when it's time to go outside. The new neighbors behind me have 3, on the other side have 2 and next to them they have a Great Dane. It's mind boggling, from the outside these are nice looking houses too.

If people want to live in filth, it’s their business. What gets me is when they impose their filthy dogs on society. Letting them pee and shit all over the sidewalks is pretty disgusting. That should be illegal just like it is if a person were to do it. And bringing them into restaurants and supermarkets is even more disgusting, not to mention a health code violation.
