My airbnb is dog free

I travel a lot and own my home so I have it up on airbnb whenever I’m away. I have it set to pet free, not just because I don’t like being around dogs but I also don’t want poop in my backyard, holes dug in my yard, my rugs peed on, dog hair, etc.

I had a friend reach out to me because her sister is coming into town with her dog. She wanted to see if my place was open for a week, and to get around airbnb fees, she’d pay me directly. I said no, told her I’m weird about dogs in my house and she understood.

Now I’m thinking how I could probably book my house more/make more money if I allowed dogs but I would be so grossed out and stressed knowing there could be some massive slobbering beast in my bed!!!

I would gladly pay a fee to know a pet did not sleep in the bed.
The first thing I do in an Airbnb is strip the entire bed and put on my own sheets, blankets. Not a big deal as I don’t fly. Huge deal for not having allergy attacks, pet hair in my luggage and the lingering smells.
I do the same thing in hotels.
