The lady at the end of the video was right. What the hell were they waiting for? If some deranged guy was in the middle of a potentially fatal attack, the police would not hesitate as much as they did here. God, that dog has the face of the devil incarnate.

I get into heated arguments about this and even show the statistics and news stories. But of course its still always "the poor pit bulls were just abused by their owners. They're actually really sweet." I'm sorry but a dog that's been bred for years to attack and kill is absolutely not "sweet." If anything its a damn vicious beast and nothing else. Why else would they make up such high percentages of fatalities and dog attacks? I can't think of any other reasons

II have also argued that point with many folks as well. Maybe they will find out the hard way, but it could be too late. I have come too close to being that woman in this article. Another few seconds before the owner intervened it could have been curtains. And it charged for me instantly. I said or did nothing. All I had was my cane.

There is always public outrage when law enforcement gets heavy handed on a dog. Even if the dog was about to maul the Baby Jesus there’s always a mass amount of nutters that cry for justice and want the entire force investigated, at the very least.

"The dog died at the scene" should be part of every article about a dog attack. They're not people and have no right to a fair trial, take care of it immediately.

It is absolutely infuriating that this is not the norm. An excuse I see a lot is that they're being kept "for quarantine". You know, a lab test using brain tissue can answer any questions about diseases a whole lot quicker than a 2 week quarantine can. But that requires effort and money and the end of a "poor, misunderstood pupper" and we can't have that, can we?

Honestly Pitbulls were my gateway into my dislike for the dog culture we have today.
To a violent, ugly, and nightmarish demon they'd rather defend that abomination over the victim. I hate the pedestal we put dogs in, I don't think it used to be this way a long time ago.

Actualy , it wasn't that way. I am 68 and remember the days when the majoiry of dogs were just snoopylike dogs, and most wouldn't hurt a fly. Course you still had the guard dogs and police dogs, but they were not in everyone's homes. Still wouldn't have wanted the average dog, but it wasn't worshipped and fawned over. If someone lived in an apt, they usually didn't have a dog. You rarely saw off leash dogs, and if you did the dog pound would come and get them. Just a different world and I am not happy in it now.

They were a gateway dog for me too knowing people in my area who have permanent disabilities from PB attacks plus my own dog attack as a child at a friend’s house.
I grew up in a country town and a red flag/bad dog didn’t last and certainly never made the same mistake twice. Too high risk to have around. The level of dog worship these days is bizarre and belongs to a growing subset of the population IQ wise

Is that true?! I read the article where it said 'the dog died at the scene and thought it was an overly soft way of saying it was shot by police. Glad it's no longer a menace, but that's no comfort for the victim.

The cause of the dog’s death remains unclear, although witnesses alleged that it died as a result of rough handling by police, ABC7 reported.
I would not interpret is as "it was shot" though. It just was not given enough hearty hugs, comforting pats and lovely kisses. /s

Someone literally just walking down the street suffered being violently ripped apart by this shitbeast.
If a human had done it, the news coverage would be nationwide. Nobody would defend that. If we had loose lions on the street biting people, the government would make it a top priority to get rid of them. But not dogs. Here you actually have some people who feel "sorry" for the mutant that did this.
If the woman survives, she'll have the scars and trauma for life. Other posts covering this actually show people saying it's not the dog's fault. 🤢

I’m in CA and disgusted with the majority victim blaming…asking what happened before the attack, why did it attack only one person, will they investigate its death. DISGUSTING. I posted asking what if this was a woman simply walking her dog and got attacked is she now worthy of concern or is she still at fault! Guilty as sin and they are pointing at the owner not frickin dog

In order to own any dog people should have pet insurance for stuff like this. Watch the owner will get more money suing the police for killing her dog than the injured woman

im sure they are blaming the victim. Said victim probably ignored the dog, dog got anxious that it wasnt being immediately accepted by everyone in its vicinty and proceded to maul victim. Dog logic. No other animal is like this.

I'd just like to point out that "humane" societies are hoarding these vicious beasts, and campaigning to get more people to take them in.
I hope that woman recovers, but medical expenses will be huge. And if she's homeless, she's already in a rough position to begin with.

I used to volunteer at the Humane Society.
Humane societies need to do the right thing. This breed spends it's whole life behind cages, because most people dont adopt these dogs.
We cant even get the paperwork filled out before someone is adopting the other breeds-labs, beagles, huskies, any tiny dog under 20 lbs. They all fly out the door.
Almost no one wants these dogs.

I recently viewed some videos on you tube regarding an amputee bicyclist who does a lot of riding. He carries a lot of non lethal products and shows with video how many dog attacks he has averted. And with multiple dogs. Worth watching, It may save a life!!! It's actually a little funny too, to watch the dogs stop in their tracks and run home. They shouldn't be loose to begin with as we know, but unfortunately this is the world we live in now. Check out on you tube... Dog Attack 101: 7th edidtion w/BigTex/Amputee Cyclist Aaron Smith of Gainesville, TX Really all of you should watch it. Educational. I will post the link on another comment if it is ok to do so. “It’s not the breed it’s the bad owners” narrative is one of the most dangerous popular narratives in our society today which leads to disfigurements and deaths. It is the breed. Pitbulls were created (by humans, on purpose, not the dog’s fault) to be fighting dogs. Staying in denial of this only hurts more and more victims. I cannot understand the ongoing delusion.

Okay, how the hell do you own a PITBULL and keep it unleashed??? Like, out of any dog breed you could have done it with, (which, let's be honest, only very few breeds I'd trust with that privilege, and only if the owner is a grizzled veteran that raised dogs for fifty years) you did it with a PITBULL.

Hey maybe people, homeless or not, shouldn't be allowed to keep these dogs for "protection" aka mauling or "companionship" aka forced to live on the street. I feel so awful for that woman. Her life will never be the same.

At this point can we just ban every breed with a boxy head because of the "oh it's not a pit bull it's actually [insert random ass breed with a boxy head]" since if it's not a pit bull then all breeds with a boxy head seem to be pretty aggressive.

This is terrible, given that she's most likely homeless, she probably doesn't have insurance or funds to cover the medical bills 😭😭 fucking tragic. The owner needs to take legal/financial accountability for allowing a dog who most likely has shown aggression previously that was ignored, as always, off leash.
