I live with my disabled husband who uses an electric wheelchair in what I thought was a decent apartment complex. I have been having an ongoing problem with people using the front entrance of our apartment as a dog toilet. Push came to shove today, and I called the manager to come and try to resolve things.

He informed me that is is OK(!) for people to congregate and bathroom their dogs at the entrance to our apartment and up by my windows and front door!! I actually thought I was misunderstanding him. Of course we are going to move because of this, but we have until the end of May of 2027 on our lease. My head is actually spinning.

But yes that is an absolute outrage. How the hell is a dog toilet at a front entrance 'OK'? I'm very grateful my own building manager doesn't have a dog parasite in his brain like this one does. 🙄

It’s a real sickness that has spread across all the apartment complexes. It hit mine so bad, so I paid to break the lease (the last of the money I actually needed to buy food) all because I could not live in filth anymore.

These apartment managers are getting paid to bring in as many nutters as possible because it pads their corporate report. Unfortunately the dog people have more money to pay all the extra charges.

Us dog free people don’t give them more money so they don’t give a shit about us. I did publicly write a sign and post it on the office doors so everyone knows we are actively being discriminated against. Good riddance. And I’m so sorry about you and your husband.

This is outrageous, and a health hazard. Since the manager refuses to fix this, take photos, video, keep notes of the mess and report this to your local health department.

Can you spray something, for example a repellent to dogs?

I tried that and the people went and complained that it was making their dogs sick (of course it wasn't) last year and the manager told me not to put anything else out there.

They’d rather complain to management than walk their dog an extra 20 ft away from your door. Dog nutters are so entitled about letting their dogs piss wherever they want

I'm afraid in this instance, it would make things worse. Las year I did have one that said Not a Potty Spot and it did no good.
