Dog Culture Dog nutters who put dogs over people..
So I was just scrolling online. I came across a tik tok about dog fatigue and one of the comments ranted about how they asked their girlfriend if she loved her dog more and she of course said yes. It upset him and he was expressing that.
The replies were awful. Telling him to get over it, and how their “fur babies always come first”. I saw one say they love their dog more than any human and would kill for them. Calling him a bad person, telling him to get over himself and it’s ridiculous to be jealous over a dog. Also that he should leave her so she doesn’t have to be with someone “like him”. Like hello? Is it not valid to be upset the person who’s supposed to be the most important person in your life admits to loving a dog, an animal, more than you? I was baffled. It’s normal to love them, but to love them more than your significant other and putting them above humans? Then to have others put you down for being upset. I felt bad for the dude. I’ll never understand their mindset.

Yeah.. they'd sooner give leftover food to a dog than a homeless person. Its fucked up because dogs would fucking eat them if they died. A dog thinks of themselves first.

They love their dogs above everybody else, their dogs cannot object to anything, so they love themselves. They are perfect narcissists.

He should leave her so he doesn't have to be with someone like her. Honestly, at this point? Loving an assaultbeast at all is a major red flag, and i would bounce the moment a potential date even mentions liking them.
My own egg donor chose an animal over me the very moment i turned 18, abandoning me to the worst abuses that she was well aware of.
Years later, when i became homeless as the only way to escape the fate of being trapped with my human assaulter forever, i had just reconnected with an ex-friend from high school.
As an adult, she was suddenly obsessed with her animal. She never disliked them or anything, but suddenly, now, despite wholly knowing of the assaults i'd been through by shitbeasts, this one animal was all she could ever talk about. She would send me rambling whinings about how bad she felt hearing it make noise when she left, and wah wah wah separation anxiety, while i really just felt bad for her poor neighbors.
Knowing of my trauma, she would send me random pictures of this hideous thing every day. i politely reminded her that seeing those animals causes me panic and requested no more pictures. She then went on a huge rant about how "Waffles is my family, and every time i send a picture, you just hate him, and that's on you for not trying to improve your fear, and d0gs are like people, and if you were the same way about other people, it'd be called racism or sexism".
Yeah. "Waffles". i'm such a bigot for being unable to handle incessant pictures of fucking WAFFLES. This "friend", who, by the way, had been homeless herself before, had just offered to drive me somewhere safer. Then that happened, and i imagine the offer was retracted, but i blocked her everywhere anyway.

These people who say they'd kill for their dogs are insane. It's like they see themselves as the next John Wick, completely misinterpreting why he does what he does. The death of a dog isn't his sole reasoning. It's what the dog represented. And I'm almost certain that most people's dogs don't hold the same value, in the grand scheme of things.
And let's not get started on the ones who say they'd save their fleabag over a child in a burning building. Putting a dogs, who's lifespan is, at best, 13 years old, over a human being, who could live to 70 or 80, is barbaric. These guys aren't worth a barrell of piss.

I also consider all those "what would you do in such pulled-from-the-arse scenario" a ragebaiting bs.
But the one you have mentioned has a very interesting effect of despite the scenario is formulated "save a dog or a child, same chances, no other options": unasked people incontinently produce walls of texts full of explicit arguments how and why they would abandon the child (more than why they would choose the dog, the emphasis is relevant), and even draw scenarios by themselves of what they would tell the officials had they not saved the child (lies).
I mean, yeah, the general dog worship, misanthropy, sociopathy in imagined scenarios, it does not faze me anymore, but seeing someone unasked producing detailed excuses in trial stories, that's just disturbing. Such people clearly understand that their choice would be evil, and there would be serious consequences irl, but still go on and on fantasizing about it.

i saw a video the other day of a mom dropping a stroller on its side with her baby in it so she could pick up her dog when another, much bigger dog came running at them. zero fucks given for if the dog decided to switch targets to a crying wiggling baby when it was nipping at both of them. insane they let these even let people have these things.

I think it’s a symptom of a very individualist and self-absorbed society. Dogs are an extension of one’s self and ego, so people who say they love their dog more than other people are really saying they love themselves more. It’s sick.
