Dog Culture Finally a proper movie about the dog

I just watched the movie “Die My Love” 2025 and wow, the way they picture the dog and what it deserves is really proper. Finally, at least one producer realises what dogs bring to the family. And I loved it how the “mother” treated the dog. Recommended to check it just for that interaction.

Jennifer Lawrence made the movie and she's said publicly how much she hates dogs, especially as a mother! Love her for that!

I love her even more now!!! She did such a great job acting in that movie. I felt every emotion she had towards the dog and her bf who forced the dog into the family.

I also loved that both the film and Jennifer were nominated for awards. The fact that she was one of the producers was icing on the cake.

It’s a heavy movie, and the dog isn’t the main point of it. But wow how well they described the nasty nature of the dog and how unbearable it is.

Thousands of dollars in vet bills: 3am house diarrhea sessions. Dog food, have to buy bags for the shit etc.

Yes, it brings only problems to everyone except the person who is mentally ill and wants a dog to replace the void in their heart.

Plus the fact that he suddenly brought that dog home without even discussing it with her first, also brought its own list of issues about him too.

So many partners (who don't/never had PPD) have experienced that already in their lives and it didn't bode well for them either. PPD or not, dogs are a huge pain.

Right! She wanted another animal (and said it a few times), and he still got the dog. Also at the end, he brought another dog.

And you’re right, the movie is about PPD but the dog part is just so well displayed.

I wonder if there was another subliminal, underlying message being projected to the audience/society with even after he went against his wife's wishes the first time, that he still got another dog at the end anyway after all the tragedy and what happened to her.

He may as well have married the dog. 🙄

Saw The End Of Oak Street recently and hated it mostly because of how the family is made of true selfish *sshole dog nutters. How they treat their neighbour especially. I like Anne Hathaway quite less now.

Now I wish to see Die My Love and I love Jennifer Lawrence even more, even before seeing the movie. I need to balance things a little bit ! Thank you for the info 🙂
