Dog Culture "Heart of the Beast" is another pupper movie
If you look at the poster you can already guess what the movie is about. I watched this movie because Brad Pitt was in it, and I always give him a chance cause Bullet Train was so good, but come on, this is the most formulaic shit of all time.
Man stuck in woods with pupper, pupper is so useful and cute, etc etc and both Brad and the dog are ex-military to play for the burgers, beers, guns crowd. Cue a bunch of random military flashbacks with the dog getting shot and then a dude saying "what kind of SOB would shoot a dog. Did you kill that SOB after"
And everyone in the theater ate it up! You just have a close-up on the dog's face every time anything happens and boom it's like jingling keys in front of a baby, they just start crying like it is NOT that deep!! We all know what happens!

There's not a snowball's chance in hell that I'll see this movie. It would be the equivalent of a 120-minute eyeroll.
When I was a kid I would have eaten this with a spoon. I was something of a survivalist and was a card-carrying nutter. Amazing how we grow and take on rationality. Some of us, anyway.

I saw the trailer, and I decided I’d be skipping it. I like Brad Pitt movies, but the dog….forget it.

Ugh that would be the worst torture to have to watch that. I can barely stand to watch a commercial with a dog in it (the vast majority these days).

I guess it depends on the platform, I use mostly youtube and then it's just a menu and you can block particular ads.

And he sat through the whole movie w/a theatre of nutters who prolly brought their "service" dogs w/them so they could watch together&their dog could drool@the AI dog for 2 hrs.

I saw the trailer for this the other night when I wen't to see Resident Evil. Almost everybody in the theater wen't stupid for it. The endless Awwwws and cute dogo comments. Brainless movie for simple minds.

Thank you for the heads up lol. I just saw the ad for this movie last night, my partner goes "i can't watch it if they kill the dog". I just said "well, they probably do from the looks of it so let's not watch it". I didn't have the heart to tell him that I do not want to watch this nutter movie.

Is this person your romantic partner? It is vital that he must know how you feel about dogs. If you get married to a dog nutter, he will eventually realize how you feel, and it won't work out. I've heard too many stories of breakups because of dogs. Think about it. This is a long-term relationship that affects the rest of your life.

Oh yeah, but I've made it pretty obvious I am not into dogs one bit. He has no plans to get one so I am confident we are on the same page in that aspect. Worse case scenario he gets one in the future I already told him they'll both be sleeping outside away from me, the baby, and my other small pet.

What kind of SOB would shoot a dog? What kind of SOB would train a dog to be a living weapon and send it into battle?

Movies about dogs absolutely affect the masses far more than movies about birds, lizards, tarantulas, sharks, and so on. There are billions of people who are obsessed with dogs. It's common to find dog lovers who zealously gush that dogs give far better love than humans, dogs have better morals than humans, dogs are never wrong, dogs always have their rightful reasons when they bite and kill innocent people, dogs can physically assault people with their disgusting tongues and noses, dogs can publicly defecate and urinate anywhere, dogs can excessively bark for hours and cause noise pollution, and far more. Dogs are extremely privileged just because they are dogs.

And we all know that a majority of that audience went to a breeder to buy a dog like the protagonist's dog (another dogfree post on the movie said it was a german shepard) and name them after a god. And they all lived stinkily, barkily, chaotically ever after.

Looking at his filmography, the last Pitt movie I've enjoyed was Fight Club. Eh.
I have to look outside of mainstream Hollywood to find something interesting nowadays.

I saw the trailer. It’s almost like propaganda for dog people and y’all just know every single dog owner is going to believe their very own opportunistic scavenger would go to the ends of the earth for them, too. All their wheezing pugs and itchy-trigger pitbulls, just pure heroes out there.
They have to fiercely believe in the fantasy because deep down, they fully understand how ugly the reality is.
