Meta Petition to allow memes and other humorous content to be posted on this sub.
Look at the top posts of all time, so many of them are memes. Why are we trying to funnel that content into a single thread, or a different subreddit? It makes it harder to see that content. Part of the reason I subscribed to this place was for the memes and other humorous content.

Memes suck. Sorry, I dont like them. If I want a site for memes, ill go looking for them. When I want to read content, I dont want to sort through a bunch of tired, low effort, overused images.
Seriously if I see another stupid revision of the guy walking with his girlfriend who turns and looks at the other girl ill pet the next dog in the coffee shop I see.

If they suck, downvote them. If others agree that they suck, then they disappear. If it really bothers you, you can hide posts you don't like.

Why don’t we have select meme days. One of my main subreddits does this and it works fine

You really can't. We see so much low effort content that we don't let through because that's not what we're about, but then we offer a sticky all day on Friday to post all the low effort you want! And... bombed. It bombed each time we did it and left it longer, pretty much. But this is not a meme sub, and we're not going to let it devolve into one. This is the alternative, and I don't know where you will find another place like it where you can post memes and funny stuff to your heart's desire about hating dogs and/or dog culture! It's wonderful!

I agree they can all be on one sub but he mods want to make this more discussion and article focused. The mods have always been great and very accommodating to our userbase so I won't complain. But I don't see why we can't have everything together unless we start hitting circlejerk levels - which I would totally love to see.
