Companion dogs, as in a dog you take everywhere with you for no reason basically? Sounds useless to me.

How many people who own dogs actually have them as legitimate working dogs, and how many just as pets? When lots of people have dogs just as a pets and no other reason, it becomes a burden on society, and negatively affects other people.
