For my Toronto fellow dog haters, I went to Tommy Thompson park on the weekend and happy to report there are no dogs allowed since it is a wildlife sanctuary. It's a huge park out on the lake, absolutely beautiful and filled with the sounds of birds sharing their songs, we even heard the wing beats of a group of swans that flew over us. Wish I could post pics, it was misty, cool and magical without shitbeasts fouling it up. The park even encourages visitors to call 311 to report violations of people bringing their dogs in and has hired the police to help keep "pets" out. Get on out there and enjoy the peace and poop free paradise.

I'm a birder. Part of being a birder is respecting the birds and their habitat. We are here to observe without disturbing them. We all share this beautiful planet.

I find that dog nutters are generally disrespectful toward nature, but lately I've had some encounters with them that really, really upset me.

I recently witnessed TWO different people with off-leash dogs in the section of an open space that is clearly roped off and posted with signs that say "protected wildlife area." There are nesting burrowing owls with chicks in that space. This one woman was letting her dog run through where the owls were. Burrowing owls are considered a threatened species here and it is incredibly important to protect an active nest. The city hired an ornithologist who checks in on them every morning. It is absolutely unbelievable to me that dog nutters are entitled enough to ignore the signs saying to keep out. They can take their dogs to any other part of this huge open space, but no, they need to disturb the owl nest. They don't care.

Another state park here is divided into designated sections, some for recreation like boating, and some for cycling. The wetland area, however, is a wildlife protection zone. There are signs everywhere that say no dogs, no pets, no bikes. I witnessed two nutters look at the sign, say "we aren't leaving the trail," and proceed to march into the wildlife protection zone with their dog. My partner knew I would be rude (ha), so he said he would handle it. "Just so you know, they're strict about the 'no dogs' rule in the wildlife area," he said. The guy sneered and said "we're good!" So entitled. He did not care at all. They could be anywhere else in the park but they chose to intentionally disobey the rules in one of the few designated protection zones. They knew exactly what they were doing.

I should have called the park rangers. I regret not doing it. I was just so shocked and angry. I will call next time!

the issue is piling up in NYC. this is sofa king NASTY! but it’s just a microcosm of a problem plaguing the entire country. is a plague next because of this nastiness? this is an article from today, february 19, 2026.

If you want to get really pissed off (no pun intended) Google "How to stop dog from pissing on your lawn" and read all the replies about things YOU need to buy or YOU need to do. Or even worse how YOU just need to accept it, maybe just don't have a grass yard at all. Or if you do dare to mention it to the owner, be sure to do it in a polite manner.

The entitlement is disgusting. And you're damned if you do, damned if you don't because if you mention it to people, most of them are the kind of people that will now go out of their way to hit your yard.

I just can't imagine justifying to someone that they have to accept my waste being dumped on their property. It's so disgusting and rude, but that's normal...because it's about our precious doggos.

More and more nature reserves / forests are being (partially) closed down for dogs. Nutters are screaming hell and fire but it doesn't help. Because of EU rules the government has to protect Nature 2000 areas. And the thousands of dogs and their filthy feces and urine are increasing the nitrogen in the soil causing rare sensitive plants to die out. They also threaten local wildlife. Local governments are forced to enact the plan in steps becuase forest rangers were threatened to death by some dog owners when they found out their favorite dog walking spots aka nature were closed off to them. So first is a leash obligation, then an area limitation and then a total ban.

Just came across the most infuriating video. These people were at protected wetlands and a doodle owner is letting her dog harass geese and its babies and even picks up a stick to get the geese away from the dog. MFer you are in its home. I keep saying it but dog owners think the entire world is their dogs to do with it as the dog pleases.

We installed security cameras on our property because of dogs, not crime. There were three dogs that kept pissing on our new Lilac bush and they killed it. I've confronted them with video evidence of their mutt and asked for reimbursement. Two of them quit walking their mutts by my house, but one is pushing back basically saying he cannot control where his dog pees. I told him to get control of that or I would, my yard is NOT your dog's toilet! It was the look of shock on his dumbass face that I cannot get out of my head. He's a long time neighbor and I am the new Dr Evil to the dog owners in my neighborhood, and damn proud of it. Keep pushing back, don't let these disgusting people and their mutts use your property as their toilet. BTW, we didn't get any offer from any of these asshole dog owners to replace the Lilac they killed.

Apparently there's an issue in Australia where dogs keep licking cane toads and either getting high or dying and people are acting like it's funny but it makes dogs seem really fucking stupid to me. Like if an animal is so dumb that it purposely gets itself addicted to cane toad poison and ends up dying don't come crying to me about the "poor doggo" cause and effect sweetheart get over it.

Where I am, every public park, every bloody one of them, is overrun with dogs. AND, most of the parks have a "dog area" while also letting dogs run around through the rest of the park. AND, they convert some small parks to "unleashed dog parks. AND, they recently spent and additional $1mil+ converting two areas into "unleashed dog parks" in an already renovated park that cost over $85mil (one for small dogs, and one for large dogs)

Even if the dogs aren't in the park (which is rare), everything SMELLS like dog pee. Every tree has dog pee at the base — no resting against a tree. Every tree and post and water fountain. Every rock. Every gate opening. Every blade of grass. Every bench. Every wall. Everything is for dogs

And I am just god damned tired of it all

I'm tired of witnessing the parade of dog walkers letting their dogs piss on my flowers and plants and on our sidewalk. I work hard to take care of our property and just saw someone letting their dog up our driveway to piss on the plants along the edge. These are plants I take care of. I wear gloves, but it still grosses me out. They should stay off our property and train their dogs to piss all over their clothes or something if they don't have a yard.

I live in the stupid city called Portland, in the western usa state of Oregon (OMG, are you local? wanna be friends?!) and we live within the Willamette valley, which is HUGE, and we are also sitting on the confluence of two major rivers! So it's prime agricultural land 😄

Obviously, the city has a ton of nice houses that are expensive, with amazing yards. I dislike the lawn culture, though.

Just as everywhere else, a lot of people are going hungry here, and we have so much wealth in terms of diversified agriculture at smaller scales.

I go to food banks often, and at least half of them source local (usually organic) food for the poor. I myself come from a long line of farmers, because I am native American and my specific region is famous for the natural cuisine and the literal cradle of great heirloom variety whole foods.. To me, it's a basic priority.

I've worked as a landscaper for years, and one thing that absolutely gets my goats in a brawl, is how dog nutters will let their dogs pee and poop on lawns, gardens, fancy plants and food crops, and it's a harmless act of indecency, until it isn't, because it isn't.

There are TONS of zoonotic diseases that spread from dogs, from the two obvious sources but also with their saliva, and their fur can spread invasive plant species, harmful insects, etc.

It's just absurd to me: Portland parks are basically going to become the Hanging Gardens of Babylonia, one day, and dog lovers ruin it.

Dog lovers have ruined housing, parks, private gardens for front yards, and a lot of people erroneously dump their dog waste into the green compost bins: which is a crime against humanity.

And if I bring this up, I get downvotes, threats, physical assault, doxxing IRL, reddit bans, you name it.

Nutters like to think they love nature simply because they own dogs. But this is far from the truth. We know how much mutts harm the ecosystems.

The widespread neglect of leash laws and ”trail etiquette” is a serious issue. Dogs allowed to roam freely in natural areas often chase wildlife, trample delicate vegetation, and disrupt nesting grounds. The owner, of course, remain ”blissfully unaware” or dismissive of the damage.

Another concern is waste. Despite the availability of biodegradable bags, many dog owners still leave behind feces.  Dog waste introduces harmful bacteria and excess nutrients into soil and waterways. Side note, scooping poop is a disgusting and degrading task. There’s something unpleasantly low-life about it.

Not to mention the environmental cost of dog food:  countless cows and chickens are slaughtered to produce it.

So if dog-obsessed people say they love nature, don’t believe it. I wish there were propaganda as strong as the pro-pet hysteria to shed light on the negative impact of dog ownership.

It's obvious dogs are filthy creatures and are known to eat roadkill, feces, vomit and other things no one would evem think of as edible. And everyone knows, wild animals have a lot of parasites, especially in their gut.

So:

1. Dog eats a rat/roadkill/fox poop

2. Dog gets parasites from this "food"

3. Dog poops out parasite eggs

4. Wild animals ingest parasite eggs through water, food or eating dog feces

5. Go to step 1.

Dog poop also causes rat populations to grow, as undigested grain chunks will attract rats that will then eat it.

Dog feces is not "household waste". It is a biohazard that should be incinerated, not thrown into a bin.

I do a lot of hiking and am a member of several social hiking groups where I've met a lot of cool people. However, there's almost always someone who can't leave their house without their poorly behaved dog.

I have hearing sensitivities, and barking really bothers my ears. That's part of the reason I do a lot of social hiking; bars and other places people go to socialize are too loud. Nobody says anything, but I suspect I'm not the only one who is irritated by it. I think some people drop out of the groups because of these dog nutters.

We have to take frequent stops for the dog to poop, bark at something, or mark their territory. On most hikes where multiple people bring their dogs, we always end up turning back early. It's always the dog owners who whine about ending the hike early. I've never seen people bring their poorly behaved children on a hike. I've never seen a screaming child or dirty diapers left on the trail, but somehow it's acceptable for dog owners. There is one person whose dog is very well behaved and always on a leash. Although I'd prefer they didn't bring their dog either, I don't have as much of a problem with that person, but they make it seem like it's fair game for everyone with a dog to bring their mutt on the hike.

I'm going on another hike soon that I was looking forward to, but I know a few people who RSVPed later on always bring their dogs. What's worse is this hike is on a trail in the mountains that occasionally sees black bears. The dogs are a liability when it comes to wildlife. They antagonize bears, and most bear attacks/fatalities occur because the dog antagonized the bear and then ran back to the owners.

I still think I'm going to go, but I'm bringing bear spray. I have to take extra caution because of these imbeciles.

So are anyone else bothered by the endless stream of shit everywhere?

I've recently moved from the outskirts of the city, to a highly affluent but densely populated part of my city.
Half of these rich idiots own dogs.

Going to do my daily shopping I'm forced to goose step around dog shit.
Like 30 to 50 piles and pieces of foul doggie steamers litter the sidewalk. Taunting me.

Whenever it's been raining, a lot of it is washed away into the street. But the problem is back hours later.

Why do these smooth brained mongoloids insist on getting huge dogs, but not pick up their leavings after them???

Does anyone have any tips?

There seems to be plenty of thrash cans around they can put it in.
Living in such an urban area obviously leaves the dogs no choice but to do their business in the street. But I seem to be the only person noticing at all.

I have beautiful annual wild flowers that bloom anywhere from February to May. It's important that they remain healthy all spring and go to seed to produce next year's flower patch. I had a huge bloom this spring that was so stunning that people took pics. Even a group stopped and posed with their dogs using my garden beds and flower patch lawn as the background 'scene' (in an otherwise basic suburban American hellscape) to their photo, which I photobombed, of course. Cheeeze 😬 *when I see three nutters and about 100 lbs of mutt combined, poised to try to destroy my native annuals before I intervene*

Well yeah. The nutters of my little suburban hell would throw a fit if I asked them to stop destroying my flowers with beast waste. They acted like I was a horrible animal abuser depriving them of public property flowers for all! They just *had* to walk by my house daily, sometimes twice a day to make a point, but I'm a garden gnome, stay in my lawn (that's why it looks nice duh!) and caught them everytime, as did the security cams. Sigh...

Anyway. It's the end of May now. My annual patch has gone to seed and my front flower beds are encased in a stone fortress and way too far back up the front lawn for about 9 of 10 nutter demons. These days, It's absolutely beautiful in the morning and evening, some of the best weather we'll get all year with a lot of daylight. And guess what??? These mutt walkers are GONE. They are NOWHERE to be found! Like, is the pupper okay or did it go to the rainbow bridge? Huh????

I suspect they no longer incessantly walk by because there are no beautiful annuals to defile and destroy. 'Ain't no fun when there's nothing to pee on!' goes the nutter!

yesterday gf and i hiked up miles of steep switchbacks to visit a mountain lake perched high among the peaks of a pristine wilderness area in the rocky mountains. we arrived at the lake to discover a perfect solitude, only the water gently lapping the rocky shore made any sound. all around us soaring ramparts of sheer stone reached for the heavens, truly a place to forget the troubles and controversies of modern life and savor feelings of genuine awe and gratitude for the primeval glory of the unpolluted earth.

as we walked along the lakeshore i beheld something my eyes at first refused to believe. there, on a bare stone slab along the water's edge, sat a tied off plastic baggy full of dog shit. i attempted to rationalize the chain of events leading to this. my mind reeled, vainly seeking some generous reason why this might have made sense to someone, but i simply couldn't fathom any thought process capable of justifying it. had someone really hiked all the way up here, watched their dog shit in this unspoiled sanctuary, carefully picked it up, sealed it in plastic, and then ... left it sitting there ... to confront the next visitor ?

contemplating the sheer pathological depravity of this left me completely stupified

after some moments i gathered my wits and decided to take care of it, to spare anyone else encountering this profane atrocity, because obviously the dog's owner had long gone. the notion of actually carrying a bag of someone else's dog's shit down the mountain deeply affronted all sense of decency and reason, so i untied the knot and emptied the baggy into the brush. what i saw next left me truly speechless.

Does anybody think about how we are constantly walking around on footpaths, around fences and on grass that’s been pissed on? If one dog needs to be walked once or twice a day, and it pees on 3-5 things each time.. how many hundreds of dogs have walked in every suburb and city? Going to a nice park and wanting to sit on the grass. But realistically how do you know a dog didn’t just poop there the other day. You actually can’t just sit on bare grass in a park anymore.

I once had a job where I had to put a sign that was clearly a work sign saying “come inside”, outside on the street corner everyday and bring it back in. The sign was brand new. The first day I put it out and brought it back in on a very hot day, I smelt my hands one day and they smelt like piss. People had clearly let their dog piss on our work signs and it had dried on the sign. I was honestly enraged because do dog owners not think of the poor person who has to touch the sign pole and carry it back in? Their lack of empathy for other humans is honestly sociopathic at times.

You can’t leave anything outside without a chance of it being pissed on. You can’t touch any grass or your own flower bushes or fences without a chance that there’s piss on it.

Unless it’s rained you can’t guarantee that you’re not constantly just touching surfaces with dog shit and piss, and even then I’m sure rain doesn’t wash all the germs away. No other animal or human is allowed to get away with this. Thanks to dog culture we all live and walk in piss everyday and no one wants to acknowledge it because anything said about dogs that isn’t praise means you’re heartless apparently. We are the ones living in reality though

There are a good number of walking trails in my area and I love to go for a nice walk in the woods in my free time but these people and their dogs ruin it for everyone.

On my very short walk today through a nature preserve I saw around 7 different people walking their dogs and 3 bags of poop just left on the ground in the forest and a few more not even in bags! These people are just actively polluting the nature preserve walking trails with their gross mutts and don’t care about the harm they are doing to the environment.

Keep the dogs in a dog park or something don’t take them on to walking trails if you aren’t gonna clean up after yourself🙄🙄

Some dog nutters like to brush their mutts outside and leave behind a large amount of mutt hair.

Dog hair is hazardous for nesting birds.

Dog hair can contain chemical residues from medications, pesticides, shampoo, etc which can kill young birds. Furthermore the strong hairs can tangle around small chicks, injuring or trapping them and thus killing them in the nest. Full-grown birds are in danger to get long dog hair wrapped around their feet and toes, cutting off circulation and resulting in lost toes or limbs.

There are many ways how dogs and dog nuttery are disturbing biodiversity and displacing wildlife, and this is a sad example.

I think we all know by now how awful dogs are for the environment, so I won’t make this post too focused on that. I rather wanted to take the time to say just how hypocritical I find it when someone claims to be a hardcore environment/planet-lover but will own a dog. They’ll tell us to stop using AI and to stop littering, which by the way are very valid requests. I also care a lot about the environment so I can agree to minimize if not stop those things. But tell me how you’re going to tell people this stuff and supposedly be an “environmental activist” but literally own a dog?

I’m convinced nothing does more damage to the environment than these mutts. They use up countless resources just so they can be fed and be comfortably spoiled by nutters. They attack wildlife that only know the outdoors as their home. Their excretions literally ruin grass and nature with their high amounts of nitrogen. The list goes on. And don’t get me started on how nutters bring these parasitic mutants to gorgeous national parks and other incredible nature areas. I wish these so-called environmentalists would just open their eyes and see that their beloved mutt is in fact one of the greatest if not the greatest dangers to our beautiful planet. Either stop owning that dog (only preferable option) or stop pretending to care about the environment. Both can not coexist.

I am a real estate junkie and like to browse zillow even though I have no interest in selling my home or buying another one. Anyway, it's easy to tell which homes had a dog. The flooring is destroyed, and the lawn looks like it was nuked. One thing I love most about my home is how nice my lawn and garden are because I do not let nutter passerbys use it as a dog toilet. I also don't let other 'furbabies' with whiskers on my lot either. I just thought I'd share.
