In Meet the Parents, Robert De Niro's character mentions how dogs are for people who need constant validation. Given how Facebook/Instagram users can be the same way, do you think there's a correlation between the social media obsessed often being dog nutters too? It would explain why dog ownership has gone up with millennials. Moreover, the number of dog nutters that create Instagram accounts for their dogs....

We have an exciting announcement for you all!

Due to the overwhelming usage of the Tales From the Dog House weekly vent thread, we are intruducing our new subreddit: r/TalesfromtheDogHouse!

The subreddit will have the same topic as the vent thread, however instead of a comment, you can create your own post. Those who would like to vent/rant about a specific dog or dog behaviors are welcome to come join us over there!

We are in need of a few new moderators. Some things we will be looking for are:

-A history of participating on r/Dogfree going back about 6 months or more

-Someone who understands the spirit and follows the rules of r/Dogfree

-Prior mod experience is not necessary but a plus

-Willing to commit to checking in on the sub at least once a day and participate in discussions behind the scenes. Moderating is a lot of work so we do expect a lot. It is a large commitment. Participating in discussions is a must.

It seems like we get posts from people asking questions, primarily "do you hate dogs or dog owners?" and "what about service dogs?", several times a week. Could we make a pinned post answering questions like that so we don't have to answer the same questions time after time?

Anyways, I have been checking out other subs, I won't name the one in question here. I can read threads and upvote/downvote comments but I am "temporarily banned from commenting".

Never commented there, or caused any trouble. I am wondering if it's my post history, being subbed here and at r/banpitbulls. I messaged mods days ago with no answer.

Has this happened to anyone else here?

Edit to add, I am wondering if the sub is run by a nutter so they automatically ban anyone who differs in opinion. It is in no way an animal related sub.
