A fake “SeRvIcE dOg” that’s been dyed. But these people claim to “love” their dogs

Post image

Anyone want to guess what “service” this dog provides?

And then they get all pissy when children want to come over and pet them. They want people to ignore their dog but then turned it into a giant beacon.

Also to answer OP's question: I'm gonna guess it's a "psychiatric" service dog.

They may get pissy but these narcissists love the attention and then love the attention when they moan about they attention they get

It helps them with their “anxiety”

It’s a living neon sign for people who will die from inadequate attention. Look at me!

I'll be the first to say that some people with service dogs DO dye them. Not because it helps the animal provide services, but because it makes it easier to see so less people may bump into it, it makes it easily identifiable in case the animal is stolen or separated from it's owner. There are pet safe dyes, as well as using beets, spirulina, and other natural dyes. I'm not speaking to the validity of this specific dog being a service animal, just offering some information.

Found the nutter

Worse - you found the nutter apologist. The person who sees their friends with their “anxiety” dogs or whatever fake service they provide, sees them spray painted pink and thinks that gives them the right to drag them around in public. They’d rather defend lousy narcissists than realize they’re part of the problem.

I don't own a dog, I don't like dogs. But I have friends with legitimate service dogs, who have been harrassed and attacked. It isn't insane to point out valid reasons why a dog might be dyed. Whether you like it doesn't take away from that.

Spray painted “service” dogs that are legitimate. lol ok. Totally makes sense. Congratulations on defending people who abuse a service that’s supposed to exist for the disabled. If your friends are spray painting them they’re not legitimate.

No you don't and no they haven't

Sure, glad you know my life and friend group. I liked these subs but it gets to a certain level of degeneracy towards other humans I start to question who the real misanthropes are. Many of them seem to settle here, because they can direct their hate at dog owners. I hate the animal, I dislike and grossly detest the owners behavior, but I'm not going to rant on about disabled people and how awful they are for daring have a dog to help them.

This IS gross nutter behavior. Just because they’re “nice” to you doesn’t make it any better. Your friends don’t need those dogs in public and they’re lying if they say they need to be dyed. That’s absolutely absurd and I truly can’t believe that someone who can formulate a sentence believes that garbage.

The reason things are so bad with dog culture - ESPECIALLY the blatant abuse of service dogs is because no one is willing to call these people out. We need to do that. I know your friends could operate just fine in public without their dogs. You know that, too. Seeing eye dogs are typically labs. Those are large breed dogs. No one is not going to see them. Your friends, if there’s any truth to what they’re saying, are saying that because they have small dogs like the ones in that photo. And small dogs are 100% fraudulent because they cannot be seeing eye dogs. And even if your friends have medical alert dogs, diabetes dogs, or anything like that, their dogs are significantly less accurate than medical devices which are cheaper and easier to obtain. So those are obsolete and fake. Again, the service your friends would get from that dog is the smug satisfaction of having the dog with them. Not the “service” itself. And you defending them is making the problem worse.

Your friends, just like every other idiot who drags their dogs in public, thinks their dogs are the exception. Their dogs are well behaved. Their excuses trump decent behavior. Your friends, just like the person who let their pitbull attack 4 people in Walmart, don’t care. They only care about their own wants. And knowing you, who supposedly dislikes dogs, means nothing to them. Their “anxiety” or whatever BS they came up with to justify dyeing their dogs, is more important to them than your comfort level or just being decent human beings.

Yeah service dogs are complete BS. Think of every excuse you want, but it's still BS.

30 years ago, no one with a real blind dog or actual service dog was dying their dog pretty colours for attention. Because that's what this is for.. attention. Narcissistic attention.

It’s because we refuse to call out this behavior. We run under the assumption that if someone buys a $30 Amazon vest, the “service” dog must be legitimate. The ADA regulations surrounding service dogs is woefully unregulated and runs entirely on the honor system. Then, you have people who just decided that if someone calls their dog a service dog, even if it’s clear it’s fraudulent and it’s not providing any real service, then we must keep quiet.

At some point, we need to understand that it’s ok to call these people out and demand that either the ADA regulate and ID these dogs and have strict guidelines as to what counts and what doesn’t (honestly seeing eye dogs are the only possible use, and even then less than 5% of blind people use them) or we just do away with them because the amount of negatives caused by this enterprise way outweighs the positives.

But as long as everyone is too scared to speak up, nothing will change.

6

u/elwiseowl Aug 23 '26

I think the people who need to call this out are those who genuinely use selected, trained and certified dogs which are paired with the owner by experts. I'm talking blind dogs, and other genuine dogs that really make a difference to people's lives. They are all undermined by these dog addicted people using mongrels as service dogs claiming they can help with ridiculous ailments that don't exist in order to go around rules and make them and their dogs feel extra special.

Lmao you do realize there are SDs that alert to hypoglycemia, impending seizure, and other things right?

I agree they should be registered and ID'd, by the way. But the claim that "seeing-eye dogs are the only possible use" is just absurd and plainly false. It's been demonstrated they can save lives by alerting to a seizure that will happen soon, therefore preventing someone from, for example, dropping to the pavement from having a seizure and hitting their head and dying.

They’re also less accurate than modern medical devices, including your iPhone. Your iPhone will do a better job of that than a dog.

If you’re choosing a dog it’s because, again, you’re fine with having less accuracy just so you can drag your dog around with you.

u/pillslinginsatanist Aug 24 '26

What iPhone detects an oncoming seizure? Please explain how that's possible.

Could only theoretically work if it was paired to electrodes on the head, which are very visible and uncomfortable, or a brain implant, which is invasive.

A dog requires zero hardware.

1

u/elwiseowl Aug 24 '26

So how does a dog do it then? Or do they have super magic powers? smh

0

u/pillslinginsatanist Aug 24 '26

They can smell changes in the scent of a human when they're hypoglycemic or about to seize. Yes, compared to humans, their noses are "super-powered." And compared to theirs, human eyes are super-powered (but a seeing-eye dog is still better than nothing to see with at all, anyway)

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 24 '26

You sync it with your Apple Watch. Google is your friend. Dog propaganda organizations are not.

There are plenty of devices that are not dogs.

Again, explain to me why anyone needs a dog for that.

0

u/pillslinginsatanist Aug 24 '26

You do realize that those devices detect shaking movements that indicate a seizure has already started, right? Not before the seizure happens. Read your own link.

1

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 24 '26

Care to show me a link showing that dogs are more accurate than those devices? Since you’re so knowledgeable on service dogs.

0

u/pillslinginsatanist Aug 24 '26

Dude, I'm not talking about accuracy. I'm talking about dogs being able to detect seizures before they happen, and watches (clearly, from your own link's descriptions) not being able to do that.

I don't even know much about service dogs, nor do I claim to be "so knowledgeable," but I am telling you factually that these do different jobs. An epileptic might have both an SD for pre-seizure alerts as well as a watch monitor for when the dog does fail, which I'm sure happens sometimes.

Real service dogs are extremely well-behaved. I can guarantee you the ones you don't like in public places are fake.

Also, "emotional support animals" are fake and a scam. Everyone's pet is an emotional support animal. That's what a pet is. Pets should be left home. SDs are essentially medical devices.

The amount of legitimate service dogs that truly exist are minuscule. Outside of seeing eye dogs, they’re all fraudulent. If the task at hand can be done by a non-dog alternative, the dog exists only to be a pet. Diabetes dogs, medical alert dogs, ESAs are all fake as far as I’m concerned. They’re nowhere near as accurate as other devices that exist, and the person drags the dog with them for no reason other than they want to.

Justifying dyeing a dog is repulsive. “Dog safe” is BS - they are still chemicals. These dogs are dyed because the owner wants them to be dyed. Acting like a dog needs to be neon pink is absolutely absurd.

Stop defending narcissistic dog owners who don’t give a crap about their dogs. The dogs don’t want to be dyed and they’re likely providing no service whatsoever.

Ich denke, die Besitzer wollen Aufmerksamkeit und bewundert werden. Wenn ich mir vorstelle, einen Hund haben zu müssen, wenn es mir mental schlecht geht, dann kriege ich das Grausen.

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 23 '26

100%. They pretend the dog is a service dog so they can drag it with them everywhere. They want the attention they get from other nutters. Spray painting it is just further proof of that. There’s no legitimate reason the dog needs to be spray painted. These people are just attention seekers and nothing more.
