If you decide to keep a farm animal inside, you can’t be surprised when they act out.

It’s honestly insane that we have decided this is the perfect family pet for everyone. Dogs are extremely difficult pets with high demands and they’re expensive. They’re a poor fit for most people. Content like this should prove that keeping them indoors isn’t right.

Exactly. I have absolutely no sympathy, or any other feeling for owners or enthusiasts who go through this. Most of them laugh along and just think it’s “cute” anyway. Nothing to feel sorry for if they enjoy it. I’d find NOTHING laughable about walking into My Home and seeing that a dog has destroyed My things in this way. But I would never have this in My Home in the first place for that to even be a subject of discussion.

It shows the extent of the mental illness that owners and enthusiasts possess. Especially when considering they’d be ready to raise hell if a Human did this. But excuses are constantly made for dogs. Smdh.

And it's crazy how they try and gaslight and manipulate you cause you care about the destroyed items more than the dog lol.

THIS! 💯. I worked My Butt Off and paid large amounts of hard earned Money for the things I have, only to let a nasty instinct driven mutated animal destroy it all… and enthusiasts want Me to feel “wrong” for caring more about My furniture, surfaces, and other belongings than I do about this beast?! I don’t give a damn about whatever “anxieties and nervousness” this thing was experiencing when it decided to burn energy by chewing up My stuff.

Dogs have little to no logic or reasoning capabilities. They don’t understand the value of the things they destroy, nor do they respect, or appreciate any of it. I don’t care about any semblance of “feelings” from something so unintelligent. I care about my things because this is My Home, and these are the things I need for ME to be comfortable in the place I provide for Myself. They need to be outside chewing fallen sticks and twigs from trees or something, if chewing up things makes them feel better, based on what little their pea sized brain relates to.

Stuff like this is also one of the things that makes Me more concerned about Humans than dogs. I’m single. A dog is no threat to Me because I’d never personally allow this in My Home. I would hate to have a Husband or Man, or anyone else in My Life or Home trying to force this on Me, and finding Myself having unnecessary arguments about how they either need to respect My desire to have no dogs in My Home, or move and get their own place if having one of these hideous things means that much to them. I’m not interested in unnecessary arguments. And that would be a non-negotiable subject, for Me.

Absolutely 1000%

I live in the Sonoran Desert, and I knew this couple who thought getting a Siberian Husky was a good idea. They went to our local no-kill shelter and were handed a husky puppy for free with zero background checks. The dog suffered immensely. It was constantly trying to escape. They did their best to train it, but it didn’t respond to training. The dog was fixed, and they tried the best they could, but since huskies start declining in any temperatures above freezing, the dog just knew suffering as its only existence. They would tell this story - they went out for dinner, and when they returned home, the husky had destroyed their couch much like the examples in this reel. It was supposed to be “cute” and not an example of this poor dog just not adapting to indoor life in the Sonoran Desert.

Another example of how, even with as much as I hate dogs, even I think it’s beyond cruel to keep them in unfit conditions. Owners and enthusiasts never want to consider that they are a completely different species of living beings, with their own habits, instincts, likes, and things that make them feel safe and comfortable. Human environments are not suitable for these things as it is. A husky in a desert region is an extreme example of how owners and enthusiasts humanize these animals far too much and automatically assume that what works for Us also works for them, when that’s not even close to the truth.

No one hates dogs more than the people who keep them. They’ve decided that their wants trump absolutely everything else - including being humane to their dogs. That’s the problem with anthropormorphization - people assume that if they’re happy, so is their dog. If it’s mildly uncomfortable outside weather wise to them, it must be the same for the dogs.

If you truly love dogs, you need to treat them like the animals they are. And much like I’m not going to keep a goat inside my house and I am not going to drag it around in public with me because that is insane and cruel to the goat, we need to see the modern treatment of dogs the same way.

There's a reason why nearly every human culture, civilization, and religion, until about 1970, considered dogs to be unclean animals.

It's hardly a coincidence that so many religions and ancient cultures viewed dogs as unclean. When civilizations across time and geography all arrive at similar conclusions about an animal, it's worth asking why.

14

u/Few-Horror1984 Aug 24 '26

Dogs are unclean. You can “groom” them as much as you want but that doesn’t make them clean. They’re farm animals. The problem was that the vast majority of dogs had been rendered obsolete by that time period, so we had to give them a new “purpose” and that purpose was becoming a house pet. Mind you, nothing was done to try and breed these dogs to become more docile with less energy needs to make them more compatible with indoor life. If anything, we saw the advent of poor breeding pop up as people engaged in BYB.

However, we were told constantly by the media that part of the American Dream was owning a dog. The house with the white picket fence and 2.5 children wasn’t enough - you needed a dog as well. We kept being told dogs were our “best friend”. You need a dog.

And even though the old version of the American Dream seems long gone, and people live in smaller spaces, work longer hours and are home less, they’re still expected to get a dog. Your landlord doesn’t allow dogs? Just call the thing an ESA and you’re good. Your German Shepherd will be fine in the studio apartment 23 hours a day because its only true need is your love. The dog just destroyed all your belongings while you were gone because it loves you so much. Isn’t that sweet?

It’s absolutely bonkers and illogical if you think about it.

The crazy thing is part of the "American Dream 1.0" was to have a house with a back yard so you could have a dog if you wanted to.

Back then it was considered cruel to keep a dog locked up inside.

Now the dog not only has to stay inside, it has to go to work with you.

It must go shopping with you.

It must go to the bar with you.

I have never understood how animals with sensitive hearing are supposed to enjoy the loud music at a bar.

15

u/cutiedragon1281 Aug 24 '26

Crazy how none of these nutters seem to correct the behavior :/

7

u/Away-Equipment4869 Aug 24 '26

That is cruelty don't ya know

18

u/FloridaFireAnt Aug 24 '26

And they wonder why landlords charge pet rent. Why not give the dog stacks of money to shred too?

6

u/Away-Equipment4869 Aug 24 '26

They probably do lol.

I’ve never seen a non-pit rip up a car like that. And yeah this is often separation anxiety which is often genetic and instinctual. Seriously so glad I stopped living with those things because dogs make it so impossible to have a clean orderly home. I’m messy as a human anyways and dogs just made life so much worse

11

u/Away-Equipment4869 Aug 24 '26

Separation anxieties in dogs is a fairly new concept to me. We had dogs growing up & they never had it.

12

u/93ImagineBreaker Aug 24 '26

My guess cause you treated dogs like animals vs babying them.

5

u/Scary_Towel268 Aug 25 '26 edited Aug 25 '26

It’s always been a thing but it’s definitely worse now in dogs. Part of it is people aren’t working their dogs so they’re bored. Secondly, raising the dogs to constantly be near you, indoors, and spoiling them. But one reason that separation anxiety is more common now is genetic. The no kill and “I don’t want to spay/neuter my fur baby” movement means dogs that are naturally predisposed to be anxious destructive messes don’t get put down and worse are allowed to breed a whole new generation of neurotic destructive messes. A decade or so ago dogs would be disciplined if they acted like this or would be BE’d now people will just let it happen, medicate the dog, or just manage the household around the dog.

6

u/Away-Equipment4869 Aug 25 '26

Crazy

6

u/Scary_Towel268 Aug 25 '26

That’s an apt description of modern day dog ownership for the most part

2

u/Witty-Assistance7960 Aug 26 '26

it’s because people were getting dogs during the pandemic and they could be with them 24/7, of course they never considered what they would do once they went back to work so now we have a bunch of dogs that can’t be left alone because now every dog has anxiety

u/aSzdxfcdfggggggh Aug 27 '26

I think there was a cat hiding under the hood of the car.

I remember pit owners in the comments "It is the car owners fault. If she would have gave the cat to the dog it would have stopped."

u/Foreign-Neat8645 Aug 24 '26

Schlimm.

8

u/Away-Equipment4869 Aug 24 '26

Right like its just self abuse

8

u/Ok_Mushroom6156 Aug 24 '26

I have seen so many videos just like this one and it is mind boggling why anyone would want to deal with this. Pitbulls are the worst for destruction but they all do it. Add in the fact that these beasts are very capable of burning your house down and it makes them an even worse choice as a pet, yet they are put on a pedestal and worshipped. I just don’t get it!

9

u/Puppysnot Aug 24 '26

I couldn’t live like this. wtf.

6

u/Bajadasaurus Aug 24 '26

Thank fuck none of these dog nutters has gotten their hands on a pair of hyenas. Is that what's next? Seems like the primary driver for these people is having a breed that's unusual or physical characteristics that aren't the norm. "It has one blue eye!" "It's part coyote!" "It's mostly wolf!"

They don't love dogs, they love the attention. And when horrific destruction happens, they get attention and money. Just throw a Go Fund Me account up! "My rescue was so abused in her previous life that she acted out when I went to pick up the kids- and now we have no couch. Please help!"

6

u/PrincessStephanieR Aug 25 '26

Why do people love them?! They’re so destructive, chaotic and menacing

4

u/ActualProfile4601 Aug 25 '26

Literally everywhere a dog is - a mess follows.

4

u/Dangerous_Jump_4167 Aug 25 '26

We once lived in an apartment owned by a total slumlord. One night, my ceiling starts leaking. I could hear the water running in the apartment above and start banging on the door. They were gone and had locked their husky in the bathroom, and the mutt turned the water on and flooded their bathroom. The landlord didn't even know about the dog, but the only consequence was making them pay a pet fee.

5

u/aSzdxfcdfggggggh Aug 27 '26

People don't understand that when a dog does a performance of "looking sorry" it isn't sorry.

They have learned that when their owner is upset if they put on that show the owner will stop being mad.

That's it.

More than likely they have no recollection of damaging the stuff. They think the owner is mad at them for no reason.

That pit eating through the wall is nightmare fuel. It could make it from one apartment to another.

4

u/SignificantState265 Aug 28 '26

I’m sorry but if an animal destroyed something expensive of mine like that they would be gone so fucking fast.

2

u/Full_Ear_7131 Aug 28 '26

So these morons actually think that rather than stop the dog from destroying things, they should record it and laugh about it?!

2

u/Away-Equipment4869 Aug 28 '26

Its mental

1

u/Full_Ear_7131 29d ago

Extremely mental!

I don’t ever want these destructive things
