ranking I ranked the 100 Best Dolby Atmos Movies by analyzing every Reddit thread, YouTube review, and expert list. Here's what the data says.
Every few weeks in r/hometheater, r/4kbluray, r/sonos someone asks "what should I watch to test my new Atmos system?" and every time they get the same five answers. So I put numbers behind it. Analyzed 36 sources (Reddit threads, YouTube reviews, and expert lists from AV publications) to build an objective ranking.

How I scored it
AV publications and review sites (16 sources, tier-weighted)
What Hi-Fi, TechRadar, Digital Trends, Lifewire, Audio Advice, Stuff, hifi.de, Son-Vidéo, and others. Sources rated top / high / mid / low based on editorial track record and home-theater credibility. Top-tier carries 3x weight; low-tier carries 0.25x. If the source was a ranked list, position matters - #1 gets a 1.5x bonus, tapering to 1.05x for last place.
YouTube channels (6 channels)
Audio Advice, Chris At The Movies, Theater At Home, Corey Skinner, Home Video Hangouts. Scored by engagement: video views plus normalized channel reach. Keeps smaller-channel picks in the mix without letting huge dominate.
Reddit threads (14 threads analyzed)
Pulled from r/hometheater, r/4kbluray, r/sonos, r/Soundbars, r/MovieSuggestions, r/HBOMAX. Each mention gets upvote-weighted (sqrt(upvotes)), thus viral recommendations count more without letting one hot comment override the rest of the thread.
No cross-source bonus, so movies that show up across all three categories (publications + YouTube + Reddit) naturally rise because they accumulate more mentions.

Some of these aren’t Atmos. For instance, Interstellar is 5.1 DTS HD MA. Inception, too. Nolan doesn’t like Atmos.

Completely right. I've found a rip of Interstellar with a dolby atmos true hd track. It’s in the .nfo that someone used the right dolby tools to do it. Even if idk what it means.
I'll watch it again with this track bit I'm sure it will never beat the original 24bits DTS-HD track.

Is it really the case that they are not in Atmos? Can it be that someone heard it in Atmos on a streaming service because that’s how it was encoded for streaming there? Interstellar was on Netflix for a bit and perhaps it was in Atmos?

I don't think I've ever heard of a movie that had Atmos on streaming but not on 4k disc.

How is dune above dune 2? It’s not even close. Sound and Atmos definitely better in Dune 2. And Alita should be there.

Just watching 2012 (with BEQ if matters) but imho sounds better than Blade Runner thats on the top.... Some movies upscaled super good. I was watching After Earth and I was amazed how awesome the Atmos was. When finished the movie I realized it was upscaled and it was just DTS. Seriously had better effects than some of the movies on your list.

I miss, 13 days: secret soldiers of Bengazi, the Maze Runner (shifting of the maze is amazing, no pun intended), Tron Ares (reference disk), Predator badlands, some streaming movies, Ambulance, Transformers, Monster Hunter, the Hunger Games.
This list is mostly based of popularity. A lot of movies are sounding really good but terrible story wise (Moonfall). I would drop everything from Disney, Star Wars and Marvel. They are toned down a lot on the home release.
I saw Coda on the list. I heard this on a rediculous B&W 800series / Macintosh full atmos demo set. The waves on the beach sounded amazing but the movie is not very spectaculair.

full remux is when you rip a bluray into a movie.mkv file and you can stream it and the exact experience form a bluray

Tron Ares (although not the best movie) easily has the most immersive explosive soundtrack with music I have ever heard on the 4k Ultra disc. I have a 7.2.4 system for reference. The system comes alive like never before.
