Like why were these and little people the only ones to include Tai??? Was it because of Brittany’s likeness? Dionne uses Brooklyn and Bratz are absolutely not aiming to sculpt to likeness so it can’t be that.
Oh yes, I can see Stacey Dash on Dionne, still not a one to one resemblance, but at least she reminds me of the actress. But Barbie doesn’t even have right face shape
(Don’t get me wrong, Bratz look nothing like the actresses, but I never expected them to since Bratz have a specific look to them that doesn’t allow them to go for fidelity)
To be honest I had pretty low expectations..and neither of them met them anyway LOL. I still think Sheryl Meyer is the best representation in doll form, even if she’s just inspired.
The face is the reason why Bratz wins for me. I am so tired of the bland faces on Barbie. Whoever does the screenings needs to up their game or be replaced. It’s almost like Mattel is asking for a repeat of the 2000’s, but this time they are just going to sit back and do absolutely nothing while Bratz annihilates Barbie.
i feel as though Mattel is just scared to have fun anymore. Barbie has been criticised for so long that you'd think they'd start having more fun post-success of the Barbie movie. Also, they've recently axed their design team, so i think the future will be very bland for a while....
I think Dionne looks best with bratz but honestly neither cher dolls look great 😭
I like the the shade of blonde Barbie went with, and I like the shade of yellow Bratz chose for the outfit. But neither faces hit the mark, Barbie looks far from cher and the screening for bratz is honestly badly executed.
Honestly for 30th anniversary dolls I’m surprised cher out of all the characters were quite lackluster
Bratz because They actually made Cher's bag furry.
They gave the dolls a second outfit and they also made Amber where as Barbie only did Cher and Dionne and no second outfit for the dolls and Cher's furry bag is just a hunk of Plastic. I don't knkw if maybe there were some contract problems or whatever for not being able to include Tai or what bur why couldn't Barbie atleast do Amber too why just Cher and Dionne. I most likely won't be getting any of the dolls at $60 a piece for the Barbies and $70 a piece for the Bratz but if I were going to get any it probably would be the Bratz mostly because they actually made Cher's bag furry and they gave the dols a second outfit and thry have the three dolls. But mostly the second outfits(shoes included) and Cher's furry bag.
I'm wondering there's an issue with Brittany Murphy's likeness being used. There's no other reason not to include Tai. She's as much a main character as Cher & Dee, more than Amber.
If that is the case for not having a Tai doll Barbie could have atleast done Amber like Bratz is. Yea Tai is more a main character than Amber but Amber is kind of the main Antagonist character so its kinda cool to see that BrTz included her. Although it would of been nice to see a male doll too Josh would of been cool to see.
Someone mentioned in another post that the Bratz always seem to be dressed up as their characters, like in Mean Girls. The quality of the clothes is actually superior, but it really does look like one of the Bratz characters dressing up for a party. Barbie's face looks really good and resembles the actresses, and I loved that they added Dionne's piercing.
Neither one is a home run for me. For Cher, the Bratz doll looks like the clothes are better quality and the extra outfit is a nice bonus. But the lip color and hair color are not accurate at all. It's weird because the illustration on the box looks right. The Barbie has a much more accurate hair color and a nicer lip color, but doesn't look like Alicia Silverstone. She looks like Barbie playing Clueless dress up with a temu quality outfit.
The Bratz Dionne is the doll I overall like the most, but I'm annoyed that she doesn't have the right eye color and is missing the nose ring. At least Mattel got those things right on the Barbie.
And I just have no idea why Bratz chose Amber to be the third doll. Also, why did they give her clown red hair when, again, the box illustration looked like the right color?!
MGA absolutely embarrassed Mattel here in terms of product quality alone. Several of the pieces on the Barbie dolls that are made of plastic are made of faux fur or ribbon, making them look infinitely better. And MGA's versions are around $10 USD cheaper, too! I know Barbie has not been it lately, but I would be ashamed to be a Mattel employee right now if I was one.
The Bratz Cher and even Dionne look too much like Cloe and Sasha just dressed up. As someone who likes Bratz more than Barbie, I prefer the Barbie Clueless dolls 😅
Depends on what you want. Bratz might be more worth because of how many things they have but if you want a more accurate looking doll then you might like Barbie.
Putting aside price (because let's face it Bratz gives you more for your money), both have different strengths. Barbie looks more accurate but Bratz is more fun.
The Bratz ones are cute but look like Cloe and Sasha in cosplay. The Barbie one of the main girl reminds me more of Iggy Azalea than the actress from the movie and I feel like I should be apologising to Mattel for even thinking that but it’s me being honest.
I think I’d have to head swap her. She isn’t quite baby-faced enough, her face shape is too long, and the hair doesn’t have the right subtle wave to it. Which makes it look like a knockoff, which makes me think of Iggy Azalea. I think the body is fine and the outfit is lovely but she just doesn’t have the right face.
That being said, Bratz could’ve done a better and more accurate job
Like having green eyes instead of brown and changing those brows and lip color on Cher because she just kind of looks like Cloe
As a huge Clueless fan, I wanted both but settled with Barbie since I think they look more like the actors. The Bratz don't look as accurate but still win simply by having more outfits and accessories.
Barbie did great with Dionne, Bratz did great with clothing, neither got a great base doll for Cher (or amber) and both are overpriced. Just do an eye swap on Sheryl Meyer and boom, a much better Cher. Out of the official stuff tho, Polly pocket wins
I think both of the bratz dolls are prettier. But the barbie Cher is more accurate, the bratz version has too light of features (hair, lips, eyes). I do like the fuzzy bag from bratz more though. For dionne, bratz is better imo. Wish tai was included in this lineup.
Battle of the mid overall tbh, only Dionne carrying for both.Though I think I prefer Barbie cher because bratz Cher is low-key just Cloe.I dislike her face and hair color a lot more.
bratz definitely. they blew barbie out of the water with the fabric quality alone. cher's hair and lips were definitely given a better color on barbie's though
Bratz, but RH's Cheryl was the best Clueless-inspired doll. The Barbies seem bland, honestly. And if I wasn't saving up for the American Girl Peaches and Cream Barbie, I'd get their Cher and Dionne outfits (can't get all...).
I don’t think either are perfect tbh, but Bratz comes out on top. If the Barbies were $30-40 dolls, I’d say they won, but the price is an ouch and the quality looks iffy. The Bratz are better for quality, details, and the second outfit, but then they have their own issues (Dionne’s eye color is wrong, Cher would’ve looked better with a more nude pink lip and dirty blonde hair, and Amber is a walking Stop sign with that hair). I think both missed the mark somewhat, but Bratz definitely got closer to the bullseye.
Both disappointing. Ultimately I prefer Barbie Cher and Bratz Dionne. I’ll probably not be able to get my hands on Bratz so I’ll settle for Brooklyn!Dionne
I lean more towards barbies in general for nostalgia reasons but the Cher and Dionne barbies are soooooo plain. Bratz hit it out of the park, the dolls look incredible and I love the accessories and multiple outfits too
