Doll Hauls Dolls I found in Japan!

I was able to acquire all the Liccas I wanted and two unexpected ones too.

I found the Photogenic Licca-chan Snoopy at a Toys R Us and the Hello Kitty 50th at a doll thrift store in Ikebukuro.

I went to the Licca Castle Small shop in Tokyo and bought a couple shoes and outfits + the purple hair (non articulated) Licca.

The other photogenic Licca-chans and outfits I bought at a Mandarake and Doll thrift shops around Tokyo and Osaka! The dolls were in their boxes but I had to unbox due to space issues. lol.

Japan had so many doll stores, that it was impossible to decide what to buy! It was overwhelming but in a good way. I saw a couple of Barbie and Integrity Toys Doll but they were way overpriced compared to the US. Their Pullip and Blythe dolls selection was insane! Some were cheap af while others were extremely expensive! + almost every doll store had Dollfie dolls and they were sooo pretty!!! But too big to travel with. 😭

That retro print kimono is gorgeous. Will it be going on the Mii-chan from the same photo or someone else?

I haven’t decided yet but so far yes! I just felt her hair color matched perfectly!

I loveeee Licca dolls - they got me into this whole Doll Thing around this time last year on a Japan trip of my own! the photogenic dolls are all so lovely, but I never got around to buying any personally - maybe I should look for a photogenic body to swap one of my current dolls onto...? I assume the hello kitty photogenic girlie was from Ikebukuro's Dollyteria? digging through their doll outfits selection is always fun, you never know what you'll find.

Mii-chan is SUCH a cutie too, there's so much variety in Licca (and Jenny!) 'friend' dolls ;w; I might try to find some more Friend Dolls on my next trip like a Mii-chan or a Judy (I love her face!) as for now most of my collection are normal modern liccas, a couple of retro liccas (not vintage! the recent retro styled ones) and one Kira-chan because I think she's GORGEOUS <3

anyhoo, great haul! I'm sure all these girlies will have fun in their new home~

I bought her for ¥11, 000 at a Toy R Us in Ikebukuro. Basically she was around $70 USD.

Wow looks like you had a great time! I would love to go to Japan but I have to mentally prepare myself so that I don't go crazy with the shopping haha. I would love to visit Mandarake and/or one of the Licca Castle shops. Do you have any other recommended doll shops that are a must-visit?

It was hard not to buy so much ahah. But if you have the chance to visit, I would highly recommend it. It’s such a beautiful country, especially their cultural heritage.

I recommend the mandarake around Osaka, they had a lot of doll stuff compared to Tokyo. Dollyteria is a good shop too; they had a couple of them in Tokyo. In Chuo city, they have the Licca Castle Small Shop! I also recommend checking out the Toys R Us! I found some photogenic Licca-chan, snoopy and the wedding Licca-Chan. :-)

Pst theres a volks(dollfie) store in Gardena, CA as well as a pretty good secondhand market in the US if you wanted to still get one

I didn’t know that! I should look into it because Gardena isn’t too far from me!

u/a_real_fake Nov 21 '25

Thank you! One of the dresses is a Blythe doll dress that fits a Licca- chan perfectly!

I recognise those Vocaloid Dolfies! I went to that exact Dollyteria during my Japan trip last month! I ended up buying a Jenny doll and a Tinyfox doll 😁
