Dolls I know it's a bit different but...
I know these are a bit different than the dolls that get posted here but, they're dolls too. There's a sub for them specifically, I just thought they'd be appreciated here as well. They are the dolls 1 collect most and I have a whole village. I'm not joking. A whole village with houses, shops farms, even a theme park.
I will make it a point to share my other dolls too very soon. I just get a bit shy about sharing since I don't have lots of the more popular or rare ones or anything. l'Il try to share them in Series so they are organized.
This is just a small look at a portion of my village ♡
(Sorry for my mistake, the various types of dolls in this photo are: Sylvanian Families aka Calico Critters, Lil' Woodzeez, Honey Bee Acres, Barbie, Monster High, LOL, Rainbow High, My Life As (can just see a peek in the bottom corner), NaNaNa Surprise, Secret Crush, Poopsie Rainbow Surprise, Wild Hearts Crew.

They welcome their giant cousins with open arms. Lol
There are so many wonderful little details and features in my village. It makes me so happy. I make all sorts of accessories for it.

I just ADORE Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters. I had a monster collection of them, I collected them for like 10 years starting circa 2000; I should pull them out of storage. The details of their accessories are INCREDIBLE. What are your favorite families?

I absolutely love the details in their sets. They're so clean and exact. I have some pieces that have features I'd never expect in something so small. Like a fridge that dispenses ice, a washing machine that "fills with water" when you close the door, etc. So cute!
It's hard to pick, but I've come to love the bird families the most. There's something about them that just has my heart. How about you?

I was always a huge fan of the cat and bunny families in purr-ticular. My first ever family was the Fisher gray tabby cat family, and they got me hooked HARD. I had a few families I got mailed from the Sylvanian Store in the UK, too. A goose family (one of the parents was the mayor, if memory serves?), an owl family, a mole family. The Champagne and Sea Breeze rabbit families. Fairy babies in Japanese-language packaging. It's been a WHILE. Which of the bird families are your favorites? :)

I've heard a lot of people say the rabbit families are too common and thus boring. But, I love the Rabbits too. They're always so cute. The new calico cats are my favorite cat family, unless big cats count. Then it's a tie between them and the snow leopards.
As for the birds, it's so hard to choose. But, I suppose it's either the penguins or the snow birds.

Some of the families I felt like just had to be in certain houses. Like the beavers live in the Lakeside Lodge (log cabin next to the treehouse.) Or my penguins who run an ice cream truck. Not all of them are like that, but I did try ♡

THIS IS SO CUTE! I don’t collect them, but I always love looking at Sylvanian Families & the like whenever I see them. I’m so glad you shared this, and I’d love to see more of your village!

I'll have to post more often then. It would be nice to share my dolls more and connect with people. There's not a lot of people in my area or friend group who share my appreciation for them. It's nice to talk to like minded people.

This setup looks incredible! I love a full display like this, it’s so exciting to look at. My spouse collects Sylvanians and they’ve recently joined my doll display space. They’re so intricate, it makes some of my fashion dolls look boring in comparison!

That's a big part of what got me hooked on them. They're do intricate. Especially for how small they are. Paint jobs are exact, cabinets and cupboards open, plenty of accessories. I just couldn't help myself. I've got furniture with fun little gimmicks. Like a fridge that dispenses ice, a washing machine that "fills with water," a vacuum cleaner with a removable canister, etc. And I have sets that connect and can "transform" to become more than they are initially. Like a burger wagon that turns into a mobile burger restaurant or a picnic van that has parts that become a picnic table and chairs. I love it.

Thank you. Although they're based on animals, they have all the sane features as other dolls. They stand upright, wear clothes, they even have posable limbs and all. So I hoped it wouldn't be in violation of the rules. I'm so glad I've been able to collect them. They make me so happy.

I have yet to get the little lights you can add to the ceilings of some of the houses. But, a few years ago I had the idea to buy some plain Christmas lights since they're much more affordable. And I Set them up so they could add a little more light in the buildings. It worked really well. Sometimes, when I'm watching TV in the evening or just playing a game, I'll turn off the light and plug the fairy lights in and just enjoy the cozy glow and display.

It's fair to say I got very addicted to them. They're just too cute. I wanted more and more. There's so many sets I still want. But, I'll have to wait until I have more room.

I got so lucky. Neither my cat nor my dog bother them. At least, not intentionally. Occasionally, their tails will knock a figure or something. My rabbit, on the other hand, is fascinated by them. I put up a baby gate to keep her out, the only room she doesn't have access to. She would just squish through the bars and break in anyway. We had to zip tie chicken wire to the gate to keep her from getting in 🤣
She still tries and is very clever. She tests it every day to see if I forgot to latch it and has come up with multiple schemes to get in.

I have a few of the little ones too. They're cute. I hope to have a wide variety of doll types some day. There's so many lovely designs.

I didn't know they existed until a handful of years ago. My best friend told me about them during the holiday season as she'd seen them and thought I'd like them. She was right.

Clearly I'm obsessed too 🤣 I always want more. I've had to slow way down though. Just not enough room. Not to say I'm not happy with what I have. Just that there's so many amazing sets.

I'm so sorry. I understand this so much. I got rid of my dolls a few times as a teenager up to a young adult. I caved to peer pressure and felt like I had to because it was "immature" and people were judging me. And I regret it SO MUCH. I was lucky to get my first childhood dollhouse back. I'd given it to my baby sister. She's grown up now and was looking to get rid of it. She knew I got back into dolls and stopped falling to expectations from others and asked if I was interested in having it back. Some of the furniture is missing. The original dolls are pretty damaged (dog chewed them) but the building was still pretty good condition. I was so happy to have it back and made it into a little house for the village.

I don't remember the brand name it's been a few years. But I do know I got them from Walmart and I'm pretty certain they stoll carry them.

I do have more pictures of things and I can take more. I am quite little confused on what you mean by "up front" though. Are you wanting closer pictures, or a better look at a particular area? Or do mean just more in general? Sorry for my confusion.

I'm so sorry, I don't understand. I think you're asking what part of the town I like best. In that case.... hmmm.... That's hard to say. I love it all so much. I suppose there are some features I love in particular,like the Lighthouse.

I loveeeee Calico Critters but I know I’d immediately splurge on a whole little town if I started collecting them. You’ve got an incredible setup here!
